  1. have started the chroming on my nomad. so far i have added a cobra fi 2000r module, handle bar switch for the highway lights. venturerider.org logo on the windshield, and have some goodies on the way. the injection module really made this bike come alive. next i'm trying to redesign the exaust to get a good big twin sound with a pleasant sound level. then i am going to design and machine a billet aircleaner with minimum restriction and good looks. the feds really put the hurts on this bike with the pollution standards. it was a real pooch when i got it. it was so lean on the low end that it reguired 90 plus octane fuel with 9 to 1 compression. next tank will get 89 octane, and then maybe 87 octane., no pinging so far. st. jude here we come, first official road trip. sure like this bike alot. it is almost at the top of the list with my all time favorite v-max.
  2. he is no celebrity. he is just another rum dum that builds bikes. most people would never know him if they saw him on the street. the only thing that saved his butt was there was no intent at what he did. was the sentence to light? probably not. he will pay the rest of his life. i can almost garrantee when he gets out he will not join achoholics anonymous, and he will be back in jail. once a **** bum. always a **** bum.
  3. i get about 244 miles on my wing before the light comes on. 44 mpg all the time.worst ever was 43 first tank. it's one of those energy efficient refridgerators.
  4. lewis, glad your meet was a total success. sure wish i could have been there. i got a great week of much needed rest. see you at st. jude. in a few weeks. can,t wait. got the t-shirts and patches. they are awesome. bill :clap2:
  5. looks to me like the ups truck got him again. :rotf::rotf:
  6. we enjoyed your company. bill
  7. what a dickhead. you can follow me. love ya buddy.
  8. tom we would like you to come. we have to go when st. jude can accomodate us cuz they have alot of tours scheduled. last year we toured ronald mcdonald house because st. jude was booked. it is a great get together and the group gets bigger every year. it is one of my favorite meets. i don't know if sept.12 is written in stone, but i think that is the date lewis has set.
  9. need to make some clarification on the hub rally next year. it is not the international rally, the hub rally is just a four day get together. for all who want to come. no registration no head count just show up if you want to have a good time. you will have a good time, garranteed. if we have an international rally someone will have to step up to the plate and contact don about putting it on. don has the final say so on time and location. there is no connection with the hub rally next year and the international rally. i am not putting words in don's mouth but he mentioned to me that he would like to come back to the hub next year for another meet with no frills. so we will work on that. if it gets to be official we will come up with a date, so reservations at the hub can be made for rooms. they only have 50 rooms. one room is already mine. lol
  10. what do you mean you can't make it. we are doing this just for you.
  11. the st. jude ride is sept 12, we will meet at the flying j for lunch and then go to st. jude.
  12. looks like the weather is great, wish i could have been there, you all have fun. :clap2:
  13. hey dooder thats great. see you at st. jude. :clap2:
  14. the two main causes of this is an air leak in the exaust head pipe, and the smog air injection valve. deactivate the air valve first and see if that cures it.
  15. the date will be up to don. this was his idea. i was just bored and needed something to do, here. won't be a whole lot to put this together, but i will do what ever don needs on this end to make it a great meet.
  16. it's in the works, dooder is supposed to pick a date. we are working around his foot surgery. bill
  17. don mentioned to me at the 09 rally, that he would like to do a meet at the hub next year. well i'm chompin at the bit already. it won't be an international rally. some one else can do that. it will be a 4 day get together. no raffles, no prizes, no registration fee, no catered meal, no shirts or patches, no planned rides, just a barbeque one night, and a good old let your hair down and relax meet, at a little cooler time. since don is on vacation at vogel right now i thought i would mention this to see how many folks would like to see this happen. we had so much fun and commaraderie this year and the hub is a wonderful place for a big meet. how many of you folks would be interested in attending? just curious.
  18. hey, wrongway 2, welcome to the group. you will never have a normal life again. the first thing you will aquire is an eating disorder. all we do is eat and ride. once in a while we will just ride and eat. either way you are hooked already. :clap2:
  19. great pics ponch. :clap2:
  20. wrongway has a gps, and he still don't know east from west.
  21. one wrongway was bad enough, now we have two of them. we will be lost no matter what country we are in.
  22. and here i thought you was a nice guy. just see if i go shopping with you anymore. :rotf:
  23. the windshield is adjustable, i had the dealer lower it all the way so i can look over it. no buffeting at all. rode quite a few miles at 60 t0 70 mph only wind was on my legs. i was thinking voyager leg shields would be a bolt on. they look like the same crash bars.
  24. joe, i know what you mean about the hearing. got the same problem in my right ear. certain pitches annoy the heck out of me. i once loved loud pipes, now i can't stand them. i went for a good ride on the nomad this morning and we came to an understanding. i'm going to stick with the stock exaust. i think i could ride it farther than my wing or my v-star with the corbin seat. the seat is firm and comfortable. i put a throttle lock on last night and ditched the heal shifter, and lowered the bars a little. got everything fitting me perfect now. all i need now is some highway pegs, and i will be good to go. think i will ride it to st. jude for a shake down run. i think it's the best looking bike i've ever owned. sure are pretty.
  25. looks like the weather is going to be good. highs in the low 80's. you all have a great time. :clap2:
