    My wife loves to ride but her big hang up is helmet hair. now she has short hair and she has tried do rags & all but when we go in anywhere she ends up putting on a cap. She fusses and says "I don't ALWAYS want to have to wear a cap, I do like to look nice for u " which I"m thankful & heck she'd look good in a paper sack, okay to my question... How do u ladies deal with helmet hair?

    Now my wife and I are still fairly new at riding ,18 months ( tho I've rode most all my life). Now back to my wife, seems like anytime we ride and stop we get all kinds of stares like these people can't believe to old farts ride or like they have never seen a husband & wife ride. Now my wife is quite & reserved , but this PISSES her off faster than anything I know. I tried to convince her they are just jealous but that don't help...I mean this mild manner grandmother has even thought about (she didn't do it ) flipping some off for starring..I tell her they just trying to figure out what a good looking woman is doing with me, that don't help either..Course I have to laugh under my breath because this is SOOOOO not like her to get riled up ...

    What he said ... course MOST (except maybe the RUBBER coated ones)power outlet u can add a lighter to, they r just a few $$ at walmart or most auto parts..

    U can get a weather proof 1 at walmart or O'rileys auto parts for about $5.00

    well I can buy a fram at walmart for about $7.00 OR i can go to my local Yamaha dealer & get an original for about $10.00 the nipple on the fram is an OUTTIE and the 1 on the original is an innie ...I will say I used the fram on my honda with NO problems...but i changed oil n filter about 3k miles..

    when it happened... we r riding dwn 82 east toward Starkville, MS when I fill something sting me up my britches leg about my thigh, well i swat it and then rub it n think I solved the problem other than it hurting like crazy....well about 5 miles dwn the road it starts going crazy, stinging me all over I think i've got a whole colony of something in my pants, now mind u i'm running 70mph and nowhere to stop to come OUT of my pants when I see a BIG "Welcome to Starkville" sign I come to a quick exit on the shoulder, scare my wife 1/2 to death, jump off the bike and make a mad dash behind the sign and jerk my pants dwn to find the beast THAT IS TORMENTING me. Finally i see a big BLK flying creature exit my pants leg. Now all this is taking place behind a welcome sign on a 4 lane hwy...I have no clue what it was that stung me, almost felt like a stinging worm it hurt so bad... oh and to top it off the day before I go to a local car lot to see a cousin about a new car for my son, after the visit I hope on the bike and get a 1/2 mile dwn the road and feel SOMETHING crawling on my head, well I can't stop all I can do is HOPE the light is red, it is, thank God and i jerk my helmet off and go to swatting my hair when I swat a BIG bug off my head..lol well that's MY bug encounter for awhile I hope...

    Hey, I have an idea... lets pick a place in the MIDDLE and meet up when we both can...lol after todays ride we may want to wait till it cools off, we suffered thru 237 miles of HEAT... we didn't go to NASHVILLE we ended up hitting the trace and going SOUTH, cut the trip short because of the heat...

    John, I don't know about that. But i will say that HID width is 3 to 4 times wider than a normal light & will shine up to 4 or 5x farther.. my ole honda light would barley shine the edge of a 2 lane road, when I went to HID it would shine 20 feet past either side of a 6 lane. I could barely see 75ft on high but with HID it'd shine a good 1/4 of a mile or more...it's a different kind of light hard to explain if u have never driven or rode in or on a vehicle that have them.

    i put HID lights on the honda shadow I had, but i worked 10pm-7am & live in deer country I wanted a light that would light the world up, & the HID did that...IF i rode much at night now I"d install it on my bike now....

    thanks to the generosity a fellow VR member...I will display my bell with pride. I had seen the bells but didn't really know the meaning of it until I was gifted the bell... it's a little thing in size BUT means the WORLD to me....

    Congrats, but look at all the time you will have to do what u could never do before.... ENJOY, I semi-retired in Sept... I work when I want as long as I want & I LOVE it.. Hope you enjoy it too...
