Cool...it's cheaper ! -
I just started riding with the cooling vest I bought my daughter when she was over in Afghanistan. Weird feeling having your core body area cool and your arms and legs hotter than H3!!. We manufacture some of the best heat around here in Southern Arizona. I rode my KLR650 several times when it was so hot that the gas actually boiled in the tank. That was a really weird sight to see, and hear. I just purchased a neck cooler and a head cooler from WallyWorld. Haven't used the head cooler yet, used the neck coolers in the past. Wet your jacket and pants to cool down too. And drink LOTS and LOTS of water. Ride safe.

Thats right !! Thats my story too ..and I'm.sticking to it !!

Another example of crossing the line. A fire hydrant is there for a reason !

Oh man... To be connected to this original post... My quick question was bike related. The answer(s) got me to buy my first Venture.. Then I bought another... then 2 parts bikes... I have never questioned the value of this forum.... maybe questioned the value of a 2nd Gen or two, or three , or four... but never the forum fees.... Geez... Now will somebody please help me by pulling the knife out of my back and flushing the salt out of the wound... P.S... I know you are only kidding Gary...

Oh great..bring in the Pond Monsters.... I was almost back to being able to sleep without the nightmarish pictures rolling through my (basically empty) mind.... Guess I need to go watch Looney Tunes to try to get the pictures to go away again... Does any of the big bucks stashed away here go towards therapy ???

If you listen to the audio, the rider denies the plate is not visual. The mounting on a lot of sport bikes are at angles. The rider states that it is visible at a sitting position not at a standing position behind the bike. I understand you are a LEO and want to back the LEO, but he was WAY off base. There were no evidence that that rider was even with the pack. It was also a citable offense, not an arresting offense. He used the arrest to confiscate the video. Also, note that several cops pass this subject without concern. And, just because it was filmed in public, doesn't mean that any government entity has the right to confiscate it. If the owner wants to use it, or give it, that would be his right and the expectation of privacy would come in to play. I hope they do a follow up on this and i would bet the cop is disciplined, and the stop is ruled invalid. Once you give away your rights, you can't get them back.

BRIAN...don't let the pain meds cause you to do something you would regret in a non-drug induced state ! Just remember.... alcohol can make the ugliest girl look like a 10 at 2am... and pain meds can make a 2nd Gen look tempting in a blurred state of mind. We will find you another clean 1st Gen.... in fact you have a back up waiting at home.. Remember... and say it over and over.... 2nd Gens are just wanna-be 1st Gens...

The value is what the value is. As many here, my $12.00 has been the best investment I have made in a long time. I have saved hundreds and hundreds and many hours of time here. Made friends. And... I am guessing you don't believe in the free enterprise system. If somebody invests their time and money and builds something the rest of us wants... financial reward is not what it is all about, but if it works, well... so be it...congrats. Now I would say that you started off on the wrong foot here... this is a family..a very large family... and you just attacked the Patron... Now go cash your welfare check and well....go...

Man Brian, I know how much time and effort you put into your trip. I am so sorry to hear how it has turned out. Heal fast. As far as the insurance end, you need to scour the ads from ALL over to find good clean matching or similar bikes. I will be a fight, but you will need to show market value and repalcement bike costs to fight and win against them. Take care and recover for another trip at another time. Bill

What he thinks he typed with his left hand: Being the dumba$$ that I am, I fell last night and hit my right hand on a landscape rock. (No, not riding the bike, doing yardwork!) The result is a chipped bone just below the middle finger in the palm of the hand, and a partially torn ligament. So unless I can get the cruise control to work at under 40 mph and just use the rear brake, I'm grounded for awhile. And aren't you impressed that I typed this using my left hand only? And I'm not left handed! What we see as a post: Being the dumba$$ that I am, I fell last night and hit my right hand on a landscape rock. (No, not riding the bike, doing yardwork!) Well I thought I had two 83 parts bikes, but from the VIN numbers, it looks like they are both 84's. I pulled the dash off of the one, and it doesn't match the picture in the prior post. Here are the pictures of my dash I pulled.

Turn signals and speedo cable
KIC replied to bags529's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Check the front and rear bulbs. I have seen it that when a bulb goes out, or loses connectivity, the flasher and the remaining bulb will flash fast. You can get to the speedo by removing the front headlight.A lot easier and faster. -
fast idle on a hot engine.
KIC replied to PBJ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
One recent leak was discovered to be the vacuum line on the front left carb to the TCI (?). It is the only line that comes off the lower carb area. Also, you might have a bad diaphragm in one ( or all) carbs. My 87 kept idling up once warm... to the point of ridiculousness. Once I checked my diaphragms, they all had holes/tears etc from age. The other trick is to spray starter fluid around the carbs and lines to check for a leak.
