If you are looking at their power sports batteries, they offer 4 , the two lowest priced ones do not mention AGM, the two higher priced ones have AGM listed in the specs and even mention why AGM is better for power sport applications. My guess is if the spec sheet or description does not say AGM then they are not AGM. All four come with acid packs that you install after purchase and then seal with the special caps they provide.

It happens too often here in Florida, another diver died recently in Blue Springs in Deland, same sort of issue, plus a novice diver that went deeper than he was certified for and had forgoten to open his valve as required then panicked in the cave when his buddy tried to help him by buddy breathing. Incorrectly opened valve, should have been caught by his diving buddy if they had done a buddy check before eneting the water. Diving is dangerous enough, but when you start to stretch your abilities and training or lack of training it can get very dangerous very quickly. Both events are very sad, but also were preventable, that makes it even more saddening.

Merry Christmas to all and Don thanks for all you do for all of us. Have a blessed New Year.

Jeff, I understand the need, but very sorry to see it go, hope you stick around the boards, no reason to leave the family, just because you cannot ride. Take Care and hope to cross paths again.

Valve Adjustment Done

Randy R You are correct there is a Yamaha campaign applied to certain VINs of the 2007 Ventures for incorrectly torqued head bolts. Kid It is pretty easy to find out if your bike is one those that needs attention, just call the your dealer and talk with the service manager, give him you VIN and he should be able to look it up and tell if it is due or not. -
Spending time in Florida (not bike related, yet)

Dennis I am not to far from Ocala, I know if you are like me you probaby don not let others ride your bike, but if it is an option for someone to follow you down on your bike I am sure the wife and I can help out. We could just drive up and met you there , then caravan down to Jensen Beach. Or if you want ride your bike down to my place with your wife following you, leave there in my garage, get your trailer moved and set up , then come back after the bike. Or if there is any thing else you need, let me know. -
Chris You know you can not change just the plug wires, they are molded into the coils, you can change the boots out but not the wires by themselves. Here is a link to an IPB showing the parts. http://www.powerpartsplus.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=YAM#/Yamaha/ROYAL_STAR_VENTURE_-_XVZ13TFV_-_2006/ELECTRICAL_2/XVZ13TFV_(2006_MOTORCYCLE)/ELECTRICAL_2_(XVZ13TFV_-_2006) Each coil and wire assembly is about $80.00 plus shipping.

Exhaust tip
M61A1MECH replied to crazygaucho's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Dion The mufflers for the Tour Deluxe have nut plates or clinch nuts mounted in the end to accept the screws used to secure the cone tips. The tips are pretty heavy and I do not think the thickness of the material inside the Venture muffler end cap is robust enough hold the tips on for very long. Sheet metal type screws probably would not work, the muffler cap material would likely fatigue in a short time. -
I am 25 miles south, let me know what your plans are, we can get together for a bit.

I am currently running a set of KromeWerks slip-ons with turn out tips, they are not listed on the KromeWerks web site any more, I like them pretty well but have allways liked the sound of BUBs. I cam across a set of BUBs pretty cheap a few weeks ago, but they do not have baffles in them so I am waiting on BUB to send me new baffles. Once I get them put together and try them out I will make a decision on what I am going to keep the Krome Werks or the BUBs. I will be puting one set up for sale, so if you are interested just keep an eye open for my post. As was stated in previous post, you will not get the same sound from the V-4 as you do from a V-Twin, with the right system, the Yamaha V-4s will sound more like a small block Chevy V-8 with glass packs than a Harley.

OEM exhaust tips
M61A1MECH replied to TheCoffsKid's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
It is possible that the mufflers that were supplied with bikes shipping to OZ were different than those shipped to the US. If you have the factory mufflers that that are the same as what came on the US versions there would be no need to remove parts A or B to fit up the tips, they just slip in place and are fixed with the screws, also they are made so the tips can be rotated to turn down, turn out or turn up. It is also possible that a previous owner changed out the mufflers for Venture mufflers or the shop that built it originally put the wrong mufflers on the bike. As a side note, the tips are not installed at the Yamaha factory they are sent with the bike to be installed by the dealer in what ever position the buyer wants them. If you remove parts A & B I not certain that you will anything behind the rear baffle plate that is substantial enough to put a screw into and have it hold those tips for very long, if memory serves those tips are fairly heavy. -
OEM exhaust tips

The mufflers from the Tour Deluxe that accept the tips have nut plates or clinch nuts installed in them, they should line up with the holes in the tips so you just insert the retaining screw thru the tip and into the nut plate or clinch nut and tighten them up. The Venture mufflers do not have the nut plates or clinch nuts. -
Just for clarity, because my original post was not ovrly clear, I did not need to open the attachment in the email I received, when I opened the email from the "view source" option available in Hotmail, I could see what the attachment was going to ask, that is how I knew what was in there and that it was a scammer trying get my info. You are all correct, the best thing to do is to dump any suspicious email immediately. If I get any email from an address that I am not familar with I always use the "view source" option to lt me look at the text with out activating any codes that may be in the message.

Dion, I am expecting the replacement parts from BUB to have the "bell" end that goes into the end cap attached the the pipe, so all I should have to do is get the stubs out of mine and put the the ones in and fasten them to the cones and the cans. If I do not get the "bell" portion, I will have to get the new parts welded to the stubs, should be easy enough, a couple of my guys at work have welders at home. So I am just going to wait until the new parts arrive from BUB and that will dictate the next step. Gary, Thanks, but the deal is done with BUB, I am not so worried about the money as I am about making sure it is a correct as I can make it. I am sure there are less expensive ways to skin this cat, but sometimes by the time you get done monkeying around with a fix the time and money ends up being the same as the doing it with factory parts.
-
I got a very suspicious email from "paypal" with an attachment that I was supposed to fill out with all sorts of private information, that they did not need. I promptly deleted it, so you be carefull if you get one.
-
oh yeah way longer, I only have a stub of the baffle pipe that is about 2.5 inches long.
-
Gary Thanks, that is what I was looking for, the part where you welded the nuts on is still in my tips, I have not really tried to get them off, but will do soon.
-
OK so I got hold of BUB and they are willing to sell the replacement baffle pipes with packing for about $130.00, they are out of stock and I have to wait a few weeks for them to make a production run. When I asked them about the baffle pipe being pressed into the end cap, it took them by surprize and they asked for the part numbers on the pipes and assured me they would send the correct parts based on the part numbers from the cans. Does anyone have photos of the baffles from their BUBs? I would be curious as to any changes in design they may have made, because the little stubs I have certianly appear to be pressed into the end caps, I suspect I will need to freeze them and put them into an arbor press or something to get them out, but not doing any of that until I get my paws in the replacements.
-
Dion Yeah, I was alread designing a home made replacement in my head, very much as you described. The BUB pipes and slip-ons are designed and made specificlly for Ventures. I am hoping BUB will reply to my email and have replacement parts.
-
BUB has replacements for some of the Harley pipes, nothing listed for the Venture, I have emailed them, I am hoping for some help from them.
-
Gary, Thanks, but I certian that the pipe for the baffle must be more than 2.5 inches long. Essentially there is no baffle pipe to wrap with repacking, I can see where the pipe has been cut off with a hack saw. The end caps are just aluminum, no chrome, if I get the baffle issue worked out I will eaither polish them or black the out with high temp paint or powder coat. I have contacted BUB, will wait to see what they say.

OK so I came across a deal to good to pass up, a set of used BUB slip-ons for a Venture for $70.00 including shipping. The seller said they were on the bike when he bought it and they were to loud, he found a set of stock mufflers and liked them so he offered the BUBS up for sale. I grabbed them, figured I would try them in place of my KromeWerks and keep which ever I liked the best and sell the others. Well turns out that some knuckle head has taken the baffles out of the BUBS, all that is left is about a 2.5 inch stub of baffle pipe on the inside of the end cap cones. I am sure I do not want to run straight pipes, the KromeWerks are loud enough. Does any one know if the baffle pipe in the BUB slip-ons can be replaced? Or have any ideas on how to fix a set of baffle pipes back into the cans? I assume the baffles are supposed to be removable so they can be repacked. I will be contacting BUB to see what they say. If they cannot be repaired, does anyone want a set of gutted BUBS for their bike?
