YUP I am going to go over the front end as soon as I can some time to get up[ on the jack.

No not those:no-no-no: Had started to notice a slight clunk when ever I hit a small bump and when I would come to a complete stop, not really a noise as much as a feeling that something in the handlebars or triple tree was loose. Checked a few things and did not find anything abnormal, until today on a medium length ride it seemed to be getting worse as the day went on. I stoped for gas and for who knows why I reached down and gave the acorn nut in the midle of the triple tree a twist in the loosening direction and it spun about a half a turn . Snugged it back up with my fingers and looked to see what I had in the tool kit that could tighten it up sme more, no luck. So a carefully motor down the road watching he nut as much as I was watching the road until I find an ACE hardware store, they let me carry wrenches in and out of the store until I found the right one a 28mm. Tightened it up pretty snug and bought the wrench. Problem solved no more clunk or bump, now just need to check the torque spec and see if I have it tight enough. So I suggest that eveybody that reads this should go check their nuts.

Mad Dog , It is just like the one in the link I posted in reply #4 of this thread, but I have added the harness with connectors and supply the mounting hardware. Plug and play for any Royal Star Venture from 99 to 2013. I have one more set made up, I shipped the first one to Keysrider yesterday. It is $47.00 plus shipping, to NY it was $7.00, expect all lower 48 to be similar, if you want the extra 5 tag wires for adding trailer hook up or more lights later that is $5.00 more.

Yamaha started with the 4 into 2 pipe set up I believe in 1997 on the first Tour DeLuxe, they had 4 into 2 set ups available for the Royal Star Tour DeLuxe and Royal Star Tour Classic II from 1998 to 2001 when the Royal Star was dropped. Also all Royal Star Venture models from 1999 to 2013 have 4 into 2 as do all Venture based Tour DeLuxe from 2005 to 2010. There is a slight difference in how the mufflers are fastened to the 1997 to 2001 Royal Star bag supports verse how all 1999 to 2013 Venture based mufflers are attached to the supports, but anything is possible if you make an adapter.

If it is not a 4 wire my diode set up will not work.

You have a light bar, that you never installed? Does it have 3 wire or 4 wires? If it is a 4 wire, I could build everthing less the light bar, send it to you you could solder on the leads to the light your self and save so dough. Keysyrider, If you can wait a few days I am going to have two ready to go plug and play 15" light bars ready for sale. These are the light bars fro R&P Carriages see link below. for light bar. This will be set up wiyh a plug and play harness that plugs in under the seat and also a plug in harness to the light bar. It will be set up with diodes so you will get 3 lights on for running , 8 on for brake and then the 8 ae split into 2 banks of 4 one fo left blinker and one for right blinker. I do not have a solid price yet but should be around $40.00 US plus frieght. I hope to hve all the parts and one assembled b the weekend that way once I know all the hardware costs I can get a firm price figured out. Don't forgewt that LEDs are polarity sensitive, so make sure you got the forward biased DC compatible blinker fluid, the AC stuff won't work.

A buddy of mine made a rack to carry his golf clubs behind his trunk. He bought a trailer hitch for his venture that was made for a reciever then ge made the rack to fit in the receiver and stand up behind the trunk, puts a couple of bungees on it up high and ties it to the luggage rack on his trunk.He did have to add some rear lights because the set up covered the tail light.

Are you sure he did not change the air filters to K&Ns or open up the air boxes? I had a similar issue on my 07 when I added K&Ns and opened up the air boxes to much. I fixed the problem by adding one shim under the diaphragms, still had just a little hint of it on occasion. Later I put stock air boxes back on , but kept the K&Ns and no more flat spot.

Here is what mine looks like, I have added the 100 LED board from Custom Dynamics, a LED bar from R&P Carriages under the trunk, Harley Tail Lights and a couple of high out put LEDs from R&P Carriages. The brake lights are on a modulator that flashes 3 or 4 times and then goes solid for a period and then starts the flash cycle over again. Another trick for collet type tool holding systems is to never tighten the collet with the tool shaft all the way to the bottom, always leave a small gap between the end of the shaft and the bottom of the hole. That way if the tool is stuck when you want to remove it, you can tap down on the tool to free it from the collet's grip.

That double looking nut should be a left hand thread if I am not mistaken, did you try turning it right to loosen?

You can get full strength seafoam directly into the carbs, if you shut the petcock off and let it idle until she starves for fuel. Then take the hose off the petcock and add an extension to it that will reach into a can of seafoam. Turn the key on and the fuel pump will suck the seafoam directly into the carbs. Let it set for several hours to loosen everything up , hook the fuel hose back up to the petcock and start her up and let her idle for a while to get the seaom out of the carbs and the gas mixture back in. May be a little hard to start on pure seafoam, but it will start may run a little rough at first but will even out once the gas starts to reach the carbs.

It is proabably taller than most of Lotus's cars are. I like the British Racing Green one.

Those will NOT fit a second Gen Royal Star Venture, Tour Deluxe or original Royal Star of any model. The heads on the Royal Stars of all types are designed differently and the exhaust ports are in different locations than on the Gen I Ventures and Venture Royales.

Your experience with DYNA is contrary to every other post I have read over a good many years, DYNA is normally a very good product and they normally stand behind their products, I have read postings on other forums where similar issues have plagued other owners and DYNA replaced the unit for them no questions asked. Curious, have you tried various settings on the dip switches to see if other settings act similar?

Had a 98 Tour Classic (Green and Tan) for 9 years , put 96 K on her, sold after I bought my 07 Venture, which now has about 70K. The 98 is still around town, get to see her on occasion, the 07 is going strong and I feel like I am still in the break in period.
