  1. :rotfl::rotfl:Not that driving your riding lawnmower into your pond would qualify............:rotfl:
  2. Things didnt go well at work today, I had an accident, I tripped over a low metal cart, the kind that are made a steel and not very forgiving, I was carrying a rather long piece of alum., and didnt see the cart sitting where is was not supposed to be, I hit it with my left shin, fell over the top of it, after jettisoning the metal away from me, I landed with my right knee on top of the steel corner therefore messing that leg up, and balancing out the pain from the left side, on my way down I must have thrust my right hand out to break my fall and that it did, of course I landed on it badly causing me more pain to equal the pain in the right shin & left knee. A co-worker saw me land badly and came to my aid, by the time he got to me, I was sitting up, I dont remember how I landed, but I do remember him squatting down next to me asking me if I was ok, I sort of stared at him dumbly, and he asks me again if I was ok, and my reply was yeah I'm fine with the exception of the pain in my right shin:starz:, pain in the left knee :starz:and a throbbing right wrist:starz:...........I sure would like to get hold of the Idiot that left that cart where it was not supposed to be, I would shove it up his you know what, then ask him...........Are you OK? To add insult to injury, I had to go get my wrist x-rayed, and they had the HR manager take me, and she does nothing but talk about the most boring things the whole time. I was so glad when they called me in for the exam, first thing out of their mouth, pee in this bottle for a drug screen.................Dang, if I would have known that, I wouldnt have taken a leak before I left the plant. Had to hang around after the Xray till I had to pee.........Then they test it and I test positive for opiates, I take Hydrocodone daily for pain, just once in the morning, but it was enough to show positive, now they have to send it off for further tests to make sure I am not abusing it................at least they didnt release those results to my employer, they will only do that if it shows I was impaired or abusing it.........which I am not.......might need to take some now for all the aches I am having....................... And how was your day??????
  3. Since your new, we will give you a break on Rule # 1........you need to post pictures of your bike, especially since you say it is minty, now you either mean it is in showroom condition, or your bike taste like a mint, now I know some really love their bike, but tasting it is really strange, so I take it you mean like new condition...........So let us see some pics of your beautiful bike..........you can add pics to your post by clicking on the manage attachments at the bottom of this thread before you submit it. Welcome to VR and make it to a meet and eat near you, you wont regret it.............we arent just friends here, we are family.
  4. You didnt let him near your bike, he always seems to find something wrong with them when he gets around them, even when the owner cant...................
  5. Very nice Randy, I too took a ride yesterday, it was beautiful out, wasnt as long as yours, but a nice ride. Looks like the Vstar will have to take a back seat to the Venture for a while. Charlene wants me to sell it, she dosent think I need 2 bikes, but aint gonna happen. Maybe the Vstar in a year or so, but not now. Those are some great pics Randy, now I know why my brother lives on a mountain top in Knoxville, he has a view just like those from his back porch...............
  6. Thats an early wing, the boxes and bags are all wrong for a Venture.................
  7. Nothing coming through headphones or speakers, mute switch tried in both positions, all wires plugged as they should be and squelch tried in high and low antenna connections good...............NEXT.
  8. I am so sorry to hear of your friends passing. We will keep his family in our prayers, but rest assured you will meet again that I am sure of......... His work was beautiful, and I am sure all the veterans that he presented them to will forever remember this wonderful man.............a true patriot.........God bless him and his family. 9. I have one little problem remaining with my 1st Gen. The CB was working when I took her down for the makeover, now it is not working,at least some of it isnt. It powers on, transmitt icon comes on when I push to talk, and when I adjust the squelch that icon shows loc/dis..........but I am not getting any sound out of the speakers. I have checked all the connections on the cb and all the connections where they plug into the amplifer. I am stumped, its not a big deal, but I would like it to work like it did before........anyone else ever have this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Fixed the turn signals, I had forgotten to plug the 4 way flashers back together and now they work, brake fluid replenished in the rear, now I just need to buy some new driving lights and find out why the audio on the cb is not coming out, put some led lights on the rear and thats it............good as new if not better, oh maybe a carb sync might be in order. Riding her to work this morning so my painter can see it. Still gonna take me a little while to get used to this tank............still a little uneasy on it, but thats okay, dont wont to over-ride her and mess her up..............
  11. Almost a whole year to get her done, but it was worth it, I will work on the brakes this afternoon, and try to see why my turn signals dont work, hope its just a fuse, everything was working when I tore her down. Thanks for all the nice comments, Now I just have to be very careful when I ride her, gonna take a while to get used to this heavy:shock3: bike after riding nothing but the V Star.
  12. Bob how about a rear master brake cylinder for my 83.
  13. Got the new battery in, added some fresh gas, these things dont run real well on a strong fix of Sea Foam, but once I got the gas in and had her fired up she ran just like she did before I took her apart. Still have a few small items to take care of, the main one being the rear brakes.........aint got none, I forgot to replace the brake fluid after I did the brakes......DUH. other than that she is road ready, I put about 10 miles on her, didnt want to take her to far from home just in case, besides I didnt have the new license sticker on it.......... So here are the final pics.
  14. Its finished, gets new battery today, hopefully up to the house, in the garage, and no extra parts left over...........and I do ride in the winter until the roads ice or it gets below 20 Degrees................
  15. Hope all goes well, Charlene and I will keep you and Susan in our prayers.............
  16. Ditto what Brad said, we are here for you, and will keep you and your family in our prayers........ Thanks for all you do, I dont know how you do it........ Lewis & Charlene

  18. Brian Fries aka Friesman1 has offered up a Headlight modulator that he is not going to use. It is brand new in the package. It is a Pathblazer. Retail value of about $50.00. Now in order for someone to claim this unit there is a catch. Before I explain the catch, you need to know that the proceeds of this sale will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If you have read previous posts about our efforts to raise money for St. Jude, you will know that others have had fundraisers to help with this cause. This year we raised $3,450.00. This brings our totals for the past 5 years close to $9,800.00. We not only raise funds this way but also by visiting the Mean Dog Tribute site where contributions can be made. If you want to have this for your own and help out the kids at St. Jude, all you have to do is make a $25.00 donation to the Mean Dog Tribute site. We only have one so the first person to post wanting to make a donation will receive this headlight modulator. The link for the Tribute site is at the bottom of this page in my signature. Thanks to Brian donating this item.
  19. Metalic Black and Pewter...............
  20. I cant get the bike out of the shop due to all the rain we are having here, it also needs a new battery which I will be picking up tomorrow. So for now these are the best pics I have of the finished job. As soon as the rain stops and I can get it up to the house I will have better pictures to post.
  21. Well its all finished, only thing left to do is hook up the lights on the trunk, install a new battery and move it from the shop to the garage. I took some pics but they arent that good, as soon as its out in the daylight I will post some pictures. It does look awesome if I do say so myself. Cant wait to take it for a ride.
  22. Your link didnt work, it wasnt higlighted all the way, but I found my way there. Very important that we use the right tools for the right job. I had a similar experience once and gassed myself big time cleaning my garage. I used bleach on the garage floor to clean up after my dog messed it up with pee. The bleach reacted with the urine residue and formed chlorine gas and almost killed me, I had a hard time breathing and ended up with an upper respiratory infection for 2 weeks..........dont use chlorine for cleaning floors anymore. http://www.brewracingframes.com/id75.htm
  23. Stopped working about 10:00 pm last nite, the fairing is on, fender, brakes, w/s, all the radios in, looking pretty sharp, should be able to finish up today, now getting it out of the shop and up to the garage might be a little tricky with all the rain we have had and are still supposed to get for the next 5 days. After all is done I still need to replace the battery and the do the fusebox upgrade and add some additional light (led) to the bike. Hopefully will be able to post some pics of the bike tonite..................
  24. It did slack off a little close to noon, so I went out to the shop and started the procress of putting the old girl back together. Got the front wheel and brakes and fender, the whole of the fairing including windshield, radios, quit for the nite, she is looking pretty good for a 26 year old bike, tomorrow hopefully will be able to finish, too bad I wont be able to ride it, cant get it out of the back yard till it dries out around here.
  25. Yep I found it after doing a search......................as usual........and my calendar is full for next weekend...............
