  1. Your family will be in Pennys and my, thoughts and prayers...
  2. Your daughter really lucked out on this one. Really happy for her. Just goes to prove the more flexable one is, the less chance of injuries. I'd buy her a Full face. As for the bike she was riding, I have to agree, she probably would have been worse off on the 650 Vstar. The seat on a 650 is lower and more layed back while the handle bars are higher. On your bike and a RSV your sitting "higher" and can luanch you off easier. Given the two choices, I'd rather take my chances with leaving the bike and not having to deal with a sudden stop.
  3. Penny and I will be pray for Shirleys sister and Rick and shirley will be in our thoughts.
  4. Happy B-day Kenny!
  5. He has played for 14 years, so, how much longer has he got? The smart move "for his own sake" would be ESPN, like flyinfool said, or, just jet around the world and have fun!... he's a millionare a couple times over:mo money: I'm sure he'll land on his feet...
  6. So... are they planning to take the tube out? anytime soon?
  7. I'd rather live fast, die old, next to a good looking woman thing... right Penny?
  8. bobby G, I was never a big fan of eating out anyway... Its the time spent to gether as a family that counts... myminpins, Thats the problem i found myself in about 20 years ago. Try to find something you can do on your own that people will buy. Who knows, if it takes off and your making more than your normal job you may just have another decision to make. If not, you'll still be farther ahead than you are now. Just don't get into something that requires a lot of start up costs... Noticed you answer alot of computer questions, now there, is a definate demand for that type of work. Exmpl: Charge $100 to wipe the viriuses off of a machine and reload software, install free version of avast... or lifetime AVG version... that's something you could do from home and business would spread word of mouth...
  9. etwsjoe, Good for you ... every little bit helps... I feel/will feel your pain also my youngest daughter Amber will probably be marrying late this year or early next. Have already told her, you have a choice... a 5-6 k wedding or a 5-6 k Honeymoon her choice... sailor, I used to do the same thing, but then I just started buying the left overs chevy/pontiacs in august, although technically last years model still brand new and saved between $3-5 K Leo3wheel, Me to... I just don't think I could work for someone else at this point...Although i do miss some of the people I worked with.
  10. JUst be careful if your considering retirement... the cost of health care is out of control. One business owner said his health care deductable went from $2500 to $6500 per year for his employees.
  11. Is it just me, or, have the times changed so much that I could get a whole summers worth of "drifting" out of a rear Knobbie tire on the back of a YZ 250 on a flat track for under $75??? Can't imagine the cost involved in doing that on a street bike...(tire costs alone)???
  12. probably a good thing.. If the times get better, at least you'll be in a position to buy more toys, if not, you'll be better off...
  13. Leo, If your like me though I've already got what I need for the Key West trip... However, Beings I operate a campground... it kind of puts a double wammy on me, if you know what I mean... Last year sucked... this year will be worse...
  14. Dan, You have what ... 6 bikes??? I've got two, and I'm already hearing it... how do you do it???
  15. Oooooooooouch! I had a 45 mile commute before I retired.... Feel for you... Are you gonna do Midrsv's may weekend tour?
  16. point being, we're going through some uncertain times ... if you know what I mean... i might buy a new car once every ten years or so...and was thinking about buying a boat but with gas expected to hit $6 a gallon...
  17. Have recently decided to put a stop on all of my discretionary spending... Will be dedicating it to essential needs and of course trips on the bike... No pontoon boats or new cars...
  18. I had a $40 tank bag come off at 55 mph... Needless to say If there had been a camera in it, it woud have been smashed. I will never put it on the tank, ever again.. Luckily it also has belt slots, thats alot more secure... and you'll never again forget and have to run back to your bike to retrieve your wallet/camera/ipod...
  19. While you've got everything torn apart anyway, you might want to buy a cable lubricating device that you attach to the end of a cable and insert the tube from a can of cable lube ... (on all your cables) http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/2/9/205/4838/ITEM/Motion-Pro-Cable-Luber.aspx Might be able to get cheaper at advance auto...
  20. Just make sure you have more than one credit card on ya, in case one needs to be canceled...
  21. "Call me old fashioned but I prefer to use cash for most transactions. " As do I... However I don't like going in to a gas station to prepay for my gas and then have to then go back for my change...
  22. Just a thought, but I check my email "multilple times" a day. Have it set up so everytime my credit card is used, an email is sent to me... That way the crooks aren't going to get very far...
  23. did you call the law so they could check the pics on his cell phone????
  24. Ragtop69gw "Shovelin snow :rotf: " That's what 4 wheelers do best!:whistling:put a plow on the front connected to the electric winch and go out and play....er... i mean work
