  1. For those of you at asheville that knew we had to leave early because our daughter was in the hospital heres an update. For those that didn't know my daughter had corpral tunnel surgery the week before and began having severe stomach pains, went to ER several times and couldn't find anything wrong, thought it was gas from the iv pain med she was on. Finally while we were at asheville they admited her to the hospital. So they thought it may be her gall bladder but the test showed ok. Yesterday they did an upper and lower gi and said if it was ok they were still going to remove the gall bladder. It checked ok and they got a gall blader expert in and he wanted another test which showed the gall baldder was functioning ok. So they finnnaly decided it was bacteria in the colon and since she was cleaned out from the gi sent her home with new antibiotics last night and so far no more attacks. So thanks for the concerns and prayers, hopefully thats all it was.
  2. either before or long after the meds have worn off. ie: Last Saturday Linda and I went to a benefit swiss steak dinner. Saturday evening she started having pains that were thought to be indigestion and by Sunday noon they were near unbearable. ER here we come. Gall bladder and chest/shoulder pain. After 6 hours of tests and waiting she was admitted to the hospital. After a couple scans of some sort it was decided to do a cat scan. The result of all the tests was inflamed gall bladder and a wire tube running from her chest area to her abdomen. Of course there's a lot more to it but the bottom line is that the pain dissipated after 2 days and we now wonder how she made it the the airports without an international incident. The Dr's office said the Intraperitoneal 'tube' was on her chart, however it seems that nobody told either one of us about it even being installed during her ovarian cancer surgery. Now we both have concerns about it because the port for her chemo caused blood clots because it was left in too long and as everybody knows, blood clots are no fun and can be deadly. Sorry about the long verbage -
  3. Very early Tuesday morning (0130) I had to drag Marilyn out of bed to take my sorry butt to the ER. Turns out I was having a bad gall bladder attack. (I wasn't dying..just wishing I would!) 10 hours later I got out feeling a little better. Skipped bus driving for Wed and was back at it Thursday/Friday. Sat morning I took Marilyn to clinic as our family doc was there and she needed to see him regarding Scans on her kidney stones. She tricked me and booked me in to see him at the time she was checking in. Well this was at 11am. By 1345 I was strapped on a gourney and being wheeled into the OR!! Got my gall bladder removed and was sent home at 430 that evening! Now the healing starts I guess! So...fellow gall bladderless people....what does this mean in terms of eating and avoiding stuff? Please dont tell I can't eat ice cream any more!
  4. Bound to have been a few on here that had the gall bladder removed and had a bad time with it. What can I eat? I can't find anything that doesn't come right back up. I'm getting hungry.
  5. Got back from MD Sunday night pretty wiped out. Good day Monday, still wiped out. TuesDAY not bad, now tuesday night was another story. Doubled over in stomach and back pain. Went to the ER (there all night), long story short, I'm headed back to the Horsepital in 20 min. to have my gall bladder yanked out @ 3pm. They tell me I'll feel better afterwards.
  6. Spent yesterday in the Emergency Ward with a very bloated stomach and having a very hard time breathing. My esophagus was, and still is inflamed and still hurts to breathe. My stomach was so bloated that it pushed my diaphragm way into my lungs and colapsed the lower lobes. CAT scan also revealed that I have a very large bladder (2 liter) and an enlarged prostate. Large bladder is normal for me, but now I'm going to have to have the prostate thing investigated. Anyway, we didn't get home until 2 in the morning, and we went to the ER 2 in the afternoon. I'm feeling better but not up to par yet. This is a heck of a way to make sure I stay off my feet so much and give my foot a chance to heal...
