    I try to signal fairly early and use my hand signals. My antenna flags are made of a real silky material and tend to flutter a lot. Also wear bright yellow/black/white jacket. Reallized right away how much more visible I was when wearing it. Really pretty incredible. Anything to ride another day.

    I like the scenery in video best. It was shot just north of San Luis Obispo on parts of Hwy 1. I live in this area. The new wing is pretty, but my body loves the ergonomics of the Venture. I can ride it for hundreds of miles a day. My legs and hips cramp on the wing. It's all about comfort for me. Some aspects of the Venture may be outdated, but some parts of me are too.

    God bless your mother and her family. I know how you feel. I lost my mother in '06 and father in '08. It may sound corny, but there are special times while riding my bike that I definitely feel their presence with me. It is a comforting feeling. Take care and enjoy the ride.

    Mine went out at about 16000 miles. Covered under warranty. Took two days for part to come in and mechanic had old one off and new one on within about one hour. You have plenty of time for this repair before sturgis. Big handling difference. Much better ride. Good luck!

    Here's my experience with Morgan Carb-tune II: Easy to tune the carbs, but difficult to keep that way until I changed fuel filter. In course of my carb tune journey, I actually made things worse for a while when I felt vibration in handlebar and foot rest. At first I thought it was my immagination, but once I changed the filter and did the fine tuning the bike now purrrrrs like a kitten. Definitely, practice makes perfect. And the bike certainly does not run too rich as before. Not too lean either. I think just right. Best advice for the tune procedure is patience, patience and more patience! You won't wear anything out by repeatedly doing this procedure. Also, invest in a high quality screw driver. That way you don't have to press too hard of the adjustment screws, as they are fairly sensitive. And by the way, I would never turn my bike to a shop to give a carb adjustment. There is no way they can devote the time really needed to do a good job. Hope this info. is of some help.

    1) Removed two side panels and middle panel (some calll these battery panels). Middle panel requires removal of two spark plug wires from keeper. Be patient getting this panel out and putting back in place. 2) Using needle nose pliers, moved spring clamp from top of fuel filter. 3) Pushed filter down through rubber sleeve. 4) Removed bottom clamp and re-fitted new filter to bottom hose. 5) Applied a little soapy water to rubber sleeve before pushing filter back through. 6) Re-fitted top clamp, started bike to check for any leak. Took more time removing panels than changing filter. Hope this helps somebody. P.S.: I cut open old filter and it was very clean after nearly 17000 miles.

    I shaved ofF the ridges on mine so they would not fit so tight against the fairing. Just seemed a little too snug for me. Didn't want to crack anything. Been there, done that too often. P.S.: Slid mine in with the help of soap and water. Rinsed off later to get rid of soap. Now they seem to be set well. Like that for some 2000 miles now. All the best!

    WOW! I live in Central California. Our newspaper had your earthquake story buried on page 8 or so. Nobody died, I guess....6.5 MAG. is a jolt. Front page devoted to another depressing economy story. I think most people wake up in pretty good moods until they open the morning rag and get daily dose of depression.     Thanks for all the feedback. Here's the current scoop: The groaning stopped, but after changing oil, I looked at bottom of shock and thought it looked clean, but when I touched it I discovered the leaking oil! My dealer said no problem. To replace next week under warranty. Ebabe

    Seems overall battery performance is better than ever, but I believe they require more water than in the "old days". I have noticed batteries I have had trouble with are low on water. Just my uneducated deduction. Happy New Year! Ebabe

    Recently had exhaust Y repaired on bike under warranty, successfully I might add, but now I have discovered exhaust blowing through small holes (2) underneath each rear pipe section. Is this normal? I originally thought they were for moisture drainage. Can someone shed some light on this for me. Thanks, Ebabe

    To better secure holder to tank cap, don't cut all of bottom out. Cut the circle with 3/8" to 1/2" remaining. Enough to secure holder and beverage in place. For a better fit, use a bit higher quality holder. I used a neopreme or wetsuit-type material holder.......fits snugggggg!!! A real Money saver, :farmer:and handy, too! I don't know much about the filling up with water problem.:250:I live on the sunny Central California Coast. Riding in rain is not a good idea here. Drivers here forget where the wiper switch is, let alone know how to drive in the wet stuff. Have a Great Weekend, Ebabe

    Can't recall who posted this, but what a great idea. Cut hole in bottom of standard foam beverage holder, fit down and around fuel filler cap and you are good to go. Leave enough on bottom to tuck around cap. Standard h2o bottle, soda can, etc. fits nicely and does not budge.

    :farmer:Thanks to this group I determined my left bank exhaut at the Y was cracked and will soon be repaired under warranty. For the last 7K miles I have been smelling exhaust more than normal, but I could not pick up the odor close to the head connections. Put my hand under the Y and low and behold the leak showed its ugly head. Had no other indication, ie noise, etc. Hope others will check as I did. My bike is an 05 liquid silver. Love it, love it. 14k miles and this is only warranty work.
