  1. I know this isn't for everyone but it may help reduce injuries to the back and torso. I saw the Armored Air Jacket or Vest on a local news clip in Dallas. It inflates by CO2 if you are thrown from the bike. Acts like a personal airbag. After my wife saw it, she stated that she would buy the vest for me. It is bound to help some. Check it out and form your on opinions www.armoredairjackets.com http://cbs11tv.com/video/?id=57593@ktvt.dayport.com
  2. I'm sure it is made by the same company that made the Pager-Pal. I tried it and it was too bulky in my pants. The video of it looks slick, but it is not comfortable.
  3. Mine runs between 200 and 230. The high end temp is during slow or stopped traffic.
  4. Interesting observation. I may check mine the next time I am use the GPS.
  5. I have been reading of your tire saga, sorry to hear you are having such problems.
  6. Separate the housing and clean the contacts. Mine did the same thing. Works perfect now.
  7. Thanks Dale, it helps when you have the benefit of someone who has done it before.
  8. This was a very timely post. I noticed the same leak on my 99 RSV and have been checking the gasket area. I did recently change the oil and followed the recommendations with 3.9 Qt.s. It has not been ridden much with the weather being cold and that is when I noticed the little puddle of oil. I think I will drain some of the oil out and see if that helps. Question though, are the valve cover gaskets separate for each cylinder, or does it cover a pair of cylinders?
  9. I have the Harbor Frieght Aluminum Jack. I do not have the lift adapter, so where is a good position to place the jack for lifting? I don't want to place it under the crankcase.
  10. Just got my first RSV in September and already love it. 1999 35500 Miles so far.
  11. Tom, I did have to move my Clutch Master Cylinder away from the switch housing, so I could reach the screws. Once I removed them it separated pretty easy. The CB switch is the only thing in the back half of the housing. I would just gently pry the two halves apart.
  12. When I bought my 1999 RSV in September, the PTT Switch on the grip did not key the CB. I finally got around to taking the switch housing apart and checking it. It is a simple two conductor contact switch. I shorted the contacts across and it keyed the CB, so I knew the the switch must be bad. After closer inspection it was just contacts that close together when you pull the switch. Used little emory cloth and cleaned the contacts up. Now it works every time. Can you hear me now?
  13. I want to give Special Thanks to Ponch for riding up to my place Saturday and installing my Gauges. We had a good time putting them on and they look great. Good Job!
  14. I just picked up a can and 1oz per gal is correct.
