  1. I have been away from the Forum for a while but have returned. I had a 1999 RSV that I rode for about 3 1/2 Years, but decided to sell it last year and just keep my 2009 V Star 950. Well I missed my Venture and found a 2009 at Dream Machines of Texas with only 18,000 miles on it, so I traded my V Star in on it. It's very clean and seems to run nice and smooth, although the carbs probably should be checked for sync. I'm wondering if the previous owner was a member who may offer a history on it. I attached pics to see if anyone recognizes it. I'm happy to be back! Tim
  2. I looked. Its on the correct side. Guess it is okay. Thanks for the help.
  3. I changed the tire last summer. Ill need to look at it tomorrow and see if I placed the washer on the inside. I looked at some related posts and it looks like the washer is between the wheel and swing arm.
  4. Bob, it isn't. The axle is only inside the swing arm about half way.
  5. I was looking at my rear axle where is comes through on the right side, and was alarmed that it didn't look right. Is it supposed to be flush? You experts look at the picture and tell me.
  6. This is the first I've seen this. Ponch is a great guy and has riden to Carrolloton just to lend a hand for me. My prayers are with him until he gets well. "Love you man"!
  7. A friend of mine who with his brother served 22 years in the Army, and I joined the Patriot Guard Riders last week. We are looking forward to serving in such a noble cause for those who served for us.
  8. I bought my 2009 V Star 950 from them, as well as a friend of mine. We also have ordered may accessories from them. The Owner seems very nice.
  9. Happy New Year to the VR Family. Hope all have a SAFE and Prosperous year for 2011!

  12. I put one on my V Star 950 but later removed it and sold it. For me it wasn't that big of a deal. It isn't that hard to figure 10%, and I used the money for another accessory.
  13. I recently added these and the left shoulder pain went away.
  14. I got my Armored Air Vest today. It is 100% Polyester Mesh Shell over the heavy Vinyl that inflates. The construction looks good with a heavy front zipper with a velcro flap. It weighs about 3lbs. There are two zippered pockets on the outside. I ordered the XL and it is snug over my leather jacket. I will sometimes wear it over a denim shirt. I am 215 lbs and could have ordered the XXL. My thinking is snug is probably better than loose fitting. It's anyone's guess whether it will always deploy on every situation. There is information on the website about testing. My wife has offered to push me off of the house to see how it does. In any event, I plan to wear it because I don't bounce like I use to.
  15. I can't believe I noticed this post right when I am going through the exact situation with my home desktop. 100% CPU usage. I have ran every virus detector I have. I didn't know which file was doing it, but now I will stop the SVCHOST.exe and see if that fixes it. Then I will try to figure out what is loading it.
  16. For me, I immediately noticed cars that are entering the same road from a turn, are taking a second look from a rolling stop, after I installed the passing lamps. There is a real benefit to those 3 lights that gets their attention. Of course I still anticipate they will pull out.
  17. I ordered the Vest last week and should receive it tomorrow. I will provide a review. In the other post I included a link from the local news station that did the story on it.
  18. From what I have read, it requires 35lbs of pull to activate, to prevent forgetting to detach. Probably scare the crap out you if it does.
  19. I am sure it will add to the heat factor in the summer, but when I was with the PD I wore a vest and decided I would rather sweat than bleed.
