  1. Ok thanks. Ill cover it up its annoying when Im riding to work in the dark in the morning.
  2. Theres really nothing to tune except good plugs and wires maybe.
  3. Yea at 3K rpm I'm getting 38mpg at 4-4.5K 36-37mpg.
  4. I ran out about 158 miles before I turned to reserve. Thats about 36-37 mpg don't have a one of those superbikes with 50mpg.
  5. I dont think there is a way to adjust alignment on those.
  6. Put a different reserve lighting unit in same thing.
  7. On my dash headlght warning lamp (the white one) is always on the headlight bulb is fine. Is this supposed to be on all the time or does it indicate a problem? What do I need to look for to fix it? Thanks Jim.
  8. I purposely let my bike run out of fuel on the regular fuel petcock setting. I wanted to see how much fuel it would take. I filled up and noticed it only took 4.3 gallons arent these supposed to be 5.3 gallons with a 1.06 reserve or am I misreading it and the total capacity is 5.3 which includes the 1 gal res? (Though 6 gallons seems like alot for 1990.)
  9. My question for you hardcore knowledge guys. What makes the 83-85 faster? I'm looking at the carbs the only difference I know of 83 carbs had 42.5 pilot jets a 180 air jets all the rest of the years have 84-93 have 37.5 pilots and 170 air jets. So does that mean 84-85 are slower the 86-93? I read something about possible hotter cam. Slightly lighter weight 83-85 then 86-93. 86-93 has 100 more CC's. So whats the deal? (I put the original pilot and air jets in my 90 from 83 I gotta say I like it no more popping actually get a noticeable rpm change when adjusting pilot mixtures.)
  10. Yes you cant add air to a Royal. Depending how heavy you are running 0-0 air might be a little squirrely feeling. I would turn up the rear damper on the left side to 4 near the rear passanger foot rest. Should be Ok. I ran 0-0 after my rebuild after my crash felt a little less solid handling not as sure footed but I'm 602 275lbs being lighter might be less of an issue.
  11. MikeM out of Florida had a nice set up check his out. Ive thought about doing this but I like having the CB need to figure out how to get that to work if I replace the radio.
  12. My crystal ball says a modern looking 3rd Gen is in the not very far in the future. The old school look (2nd Gen) is a fading with the chopper look etc. They had a good run but the sun is going to set on that style. I've been wrong before I'm having a hard time waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting..................
  13. Thank you Squeeze.
  14. Probably right why would anyone want a CD changer on a bike these days when you can have a little MP3 player the size of a credit card hold 2000 songs.
  15. Its the same motorcycle as past years so I doubt it.
  16. Thats what I'm figuring its just an annoying noise that I'd like to get rid of. I'm hoping its not a cracked or broken driveshaft.
  17. Mine is off about 10%
  18. What kind of animal? I'm going to be ripping out the 1st Gen tranny this winter and putting in a 2nd Gen tranny with vmax rear end. What should I should I look for when I do this?
  19. Wheres this swing arm adjuster at?
  20. Actually saw a set of Dyna coils on ebay about a month ago for the Venture. They were blue only set I ever saw though.
  21. I have the whine too sounds like its from the left side only when moving disappears when clutch pulled in. Very annoying.
  22. Yea thats good stuff.
  23. I run max pressure both tires (Avons) no problems.
  24. The only problem is there is a minor disagreement about styling what we would like the final product to look like. Some of us like the 1st Gen look :225: and some of us like the old school look.
