  1. Bruce Thanks for the update. Found this article in the Windsor Star. http://www.canada.com/windsorstar/story.html?id=e6ed3e4c-c450-454b-a1f7-6fee09464441&k=44637 Brad

  4. And how many will say You forgot our number 1 rule " Where are the pictures ":sign20: Brad
  5. It is a pain but with patience it works. Make sure the gasket is sitting properly or you will have the same problem quickly. Hard to see but you can feel the gasket is sitting properly. I use some gasket sealer to hold the gasket to the cover while putting it back on but the slightest bump and it can fall off. Brad
  6. You will get hooked and even after meeting a few you come back for more:sign20: Brad
  7. Hey I noticed it was posted twice and not sure how that happened so I deleted one. Brad
  8. Had an 86 Standard and went to a 99, mainly to get the better Radio (sound), CB, and to get away from the creaking plastic of the 1 st gen fairing. A lot of tabs were broken on the 1st gen and I do not like that type of work. I just turn the volume up if the engine sound gets annoying , PS mine is not that bad. Brad
  9. Must have missed it, as I never knew they were moving or they were having health troubles. I am very sorry to hear of this and hope all is better for them in the Future. Brad
  10. Get comfortable first and you should be okay, as mentioned it is a heavy bike, so it needs respect. The slow speed in the parking lots takes a little time to get used too. Levelling links help this a little but remember it raises the seating position a couple of inches. Brad
  11. Hey Gary you forgot to stop by and help me work my tools. Enjoy you too and let us know when your home. BRad
  12. Good service, makes you feel good about your purchase. Hope you enjoy it the new seat. Brad
  13. Your welcome, I hope you found the bike you will fel comfortable on. I believe that is a big deal, feeling comfortable, on what your riding and if the RSV was not it then you made the right decision. Funny though I find my 99 lighter to pick up (of the stand) than my 86, and I felt the 86 was more top heavy than the 99. However in the parking lots the 99 is definetly one that you have to be careful with. Best of luck and hoping you stick around. And you forgot the number one rule Pictures. We still get the pictures. BRad
  14. :clap2:Glad I am not a salesman. Brad
  15. I too never understood this. When a plug gets old, does it loose the amount of spark (current), as most of the time they look good when there removed. Only once, did I remove a set and they looked good but the bike ran much better after the new ones were in. The reason I changed them was the bike did not run at all, but they looked good when they were removed. Brad
  16. Agree with condor but would take the battery for a load test. As mentioned check for corroded contacts, but I would look at the ground wire first. Brad
  17. Maybe that because they don't want too Brad
  18. Joe I weigh about the same as you maybe slightly less. My wife rides her own but often she will come with me. I almost always let her on first. Yes it can be a hard to get it off the stand, but normally I do not have a problem, ot at least it does not bother me that much as once it is going it is such a nice ride. I have levelling links as well and yes it does stay lean more. BTW I am 6' tall. After a long day of riding I find it tougher, guess I am getting tired. Actually in Fort Collins this summer I stopped at a spot after being on the bike for 12 hours and it was parked on a hill and I could not lift it up. It was too far over and I was tired. I guess look before you park and try to make sure it is level. They are heavy. Brad
  19. Thought there was a problem with the Exhaust Stroke for some reason there was none. Brad
  20. You could have joined Rhonda and I today. It was only 52 degrees and just a little rain but not too wet. Brad
  21. NO ! I am not that Silly. I back it down it's easier that way. PS I made the trailer 10' long. Brad
  22. Just last week I noticed a small puddle of oil under the shock. 38,000 miles. I installed levelling links justa couple months back. I think it has been leaking for a while though Brad
  23. The one I originally posted was the one I thought was small and easy to install, compared to the EQ that replaces the Tape deck. Personally I think the EQ one would work better though. Sorry if I confused you. Brad
  24. On the back of a Trailor it could get there a little quicker. Brad
  25. Link worked for me but I am a member at the Dephi Forums. (here it is) Brad Somewere in the wilds of northern Canada. I decidedto park my scooter (at a funny angle) AN PRACTICE MY ASPHALT tUMBLING ACT. By now most have seen the pics of the northern mishap lol. But what most of you may not know or understand. Is that as Northern Canadian bikers we must take special precation in late ridin season . And must carry a snowmoble ski while riding late in the season. Just incase we git cot in an early snow storm. Now I attribute the fact that both the scooter an I were not seriously bent or brokin was do to with the fact that I had my WINTER SAFTEY EQUIPMENT with me. The snow ski was strapped to the rear seat, ( securely I may add) and stuck out about 18" on each side of the said scooter. And so as I parked my scooter the MAIN impact was absorbed by the ski as the scooter went down , By which time I was already into my asphalt tumbleweed act. Now as you all can see there are TWO reasons for us to carry our Winter saftey equipment late in the riding season . # 1 =The ski can be used on the front wheel if you incounter an early snow storm. # 2 =To absorb the impact if you park funny, ta do what ever impersonation you may wish . lol.
