  1. Just been thinking that I might also enjoy having a Trike Kit installed on my RSV and would apprediate some honest answers to a few questions that comes to mind. 1. What is the brand of yours? 2. Do you truly like and enjoy it? 3. Is there anything in particular that you dislike about it? 4. Do you feel in control at all times? 5. Do you feel any safer now than you did on 2 wheels? 6. Do you have that Proud feeling, like "Busting your Buttons"? Or just always smiling! 7. Is turning corners on city streets any problems? 8. Is it hard to steer at all? 9. How efficient are the rear brakes? 10. Have you ever tipped it up on 2 wheels? 11. Can you push it backwards fairly easy? 12. How much did it reduce your gas mileage? Man, that's a lot of questions! I hope that I'm not being too inquisitive and I thank you for the answers! Owen.
  2. What Brand of trike kit do you supposed this is? Owen.
  3. Thanks Tom. That is a little bit better price, even though nothing is cheap these days. But, I'm going to go ahead and order one. They will never match this color, but the other color of the bike is silver so I think that a silver unit would look ok and maybe not look like such a misfit. Owen.
  4. Yes, I'm also very sorry now that I didn't know about the loctite bit. I just haven't been a member here long enough! Live and learn the hard way, and this time it's really the "hard way". I could just kick myself because I may not be able to replace it. Grown men don't cry, I guess! Thanks anyway! Owen.
  5. I thought the screws were good and tight, but somehow they worked themselves out. The connections didn't look to me to be able to be re-soldered. And Annie, the spoiler from Mutazu is different. I believe this was a Yamaha accessory. Thanks though! Owen.
  6. I created this disaster myself, since I removed the lighted spoiler from the trunk, yesterday, to see if I could determine why 3 of the lights, in the strip, were not working. I couldn't see a way to repair the problem, so I put it back on, using loctite on the screws. After returning from a short ride today, of an hour or so, I saw the light strip dangling from the wires and the spoiler was gone. We back tracked the route with the car right away, but never found it. I loved the looks with that spoiler on the trunk, now it looks naked! I now need to get another one. If any of you know of any place that I can buy one, please let me know. The color is like Plum or purple, but what ever color that is available, I'm sure it can be painted. I need your help! Thanks, Owen.
  7. Another fact about parking - never put the kick stand down on the downward side of a slopped parking area. I found out the hard way! Owen.
  8. Thanks for the information, Ken! However, I had just bought a chrome unit from "Twisted Throttle" and paid a lot more for it than "Kalmari's" price. But, I went ahead and ordered a black unit, anyway, for our motorhome. Great prices! Owen.
  9. I would like to offer a very inexpensive and permanent solution to corroding battery posts. Buy a pair of felt boot inner soles. Cut out large washer shaped discs with holes in them, large enough to fit over the battery posts. Slip these washers over each post and satuate throughly with motor oil (This is after you've cleaned the terminals with soda, as previously stated). They'll never corrode again! Allso, now you've got enough spare material to make dozens more of them, for your friends! Owen.
  10. Since reading this thread, I just checked the trunk on my '99 and I see 2 bolts on each front corner and 1 bolt, with a large fender washer, on each rear corner. Is this proper or do I need these listed parts? If so, is there a plate that goes across between the bolts instead of a fender washer? Just how does this all go together? Thanks, Owen.
  11. Yes, Kreg, as you say - about time to replace that filter. I have over 36,000 on it now. And that's really what it acts like. Owen.
  12. I was just returning to town, about 10 miles to go, and had been running the Interstates on a ride, for less than 2 hours, running at 70 MPH. All of a sudden my speed cut back to 60 and then less and increasing the throttle made no difference. I took the next exit, throttled back, went through town and back home with no further problem, but not going over 35 MPH now. This was earlier this morning and the temperature was actually rather cool. Recalling an experience with one of the pickups in the past, a similar problem proved to be a semi plugged filer. Anyone agree, or is there another possibility? Owen.
  13. Beautiful, Beautiful! Man, some guys have all the Luck!! Congratulations! You should be Proud!

    You are very talented!!!
  15. Yes, that was probably me. I've made that run a few times. Sorry I didn't stop! Maybe next time. Owen.
  16. Worked like a charm! I got a paring knife from the wife. I just want to say that I really enjoy this site and the knowledgable comments. I don't ask many questions, but the ones that I'm thinking of are mostly always answered by just reading other's posts. You are a great group of guys and gals! Thanks to everyone for all your input!
  17. Thanks, Guys. That's what I thought, but I had tried it with my pocket knife but it must have too thick of a blade. I've got a smaller knife so I'm going out and try again.
  18. To loosen the handlebar bolts, there are chrome caps over each one. Does anyone have a special method to remove these caps, so as to get at these 4 bolts? Thanks.
  19. A Radio Antenna and CB power box & wiring are on Ebay this week and listed under the heading of Yamaha Royal Star Venture. I know that some of you are interested.
  20. Some of these Jacks have the rubber pads only 12 inches long. That's not long enough to accept the carbon 1 adapter. I think the pads have to be at least 14 + inches long. I have the Red Sears Jack and I think it's great. Also another brand that I tried, the casters weren't installed true and it couldn't be moved around with the load on it.
  21. Thanks to this Forum for leading me to an E-bay sale of a C B Antenna. I bought the pair, so now will have the Radio Antenna for sale. Amen4AA, among others, asked if one would be for sale. I will ask $70 for it. You can E-mail me at owenjean1@msn.com. Owen.
  22. I just bought the set of RSV antennas on E-bay. I would sell the radio antenna for $70. You can E-mail me at owenjean1@msn.com.
  23. "Good Looks" catch the eye! But a "Good Personality" catches the Heart! Many people walk in and out of your life, but only "True Friends" will leave footprints in your Heart!
  24. I've been using Reg Cure monthly for over a year, but I also use Reg Smart and C Cleaner, so I really don't know for sure which is better. I do know that each one cleans a lot of unnecessary junk out of the system and gets the speed back to normal. I find it pretty important! As a matter of fact, that's on my schedule to do yet tonight.
  25. Help! I broke the CB antenna off. I wanted to just loosen the nuts and lower the antenna, so a bike cover would fit without cutting holes in it. The nuts were really tight, probalby corroded in place. I guess that I just put too much pressure on the wrenches and snapped the antenna off. Just a very sad experience! Does anyone have one for sale now or know where I can find one? Looks bad without it too! Thank You! Nemo.
