Donlop tire question

I put a e-3 on my 900 custom last year. I "Like" it. Had no problum in rain, tar strips or draging the pags in corners. Dont know how long they will last? -

the only thing I rember is it relocates the calaper so it don't hit the fender. the brack line is the right lenth to do that. there can't be that many places to go with it. sorry I cant be more help!

Sorry no pitchers, if you have a Dennis Kirk Accessorier book, page 357 part # 23-0066. Let Me see if I can discribe it. It is a clear lexan window that is 11 1/4 L 2 3/4 w that goes on the side of your windsheld to make your windsheld wider.by 2 3/4".It is on a little more of an angle then the windsheld.like a rap around but not to that extream. it don't seam like much but it can make a big diff. Drilling the 4 holes in your windsheld is a little nerve racking. Maybe on a Venture it isn't needed?

I was reading some post on wind buffeting. Has anyone tried tour wing windows? I put a set on a Honda 900 Custom years ago because the wind buffeting was so bad I couldn't hear the stereo & give me a headake. put the wings on & the buffeting stoped. I could wear a baseball cap & listen to the stereo with no more buffeting. was wondering if it would work on a Venture?

Now this brings me to a nother ?. I read a post some ware on hear that the cigarette lighter plug on a venture is for smakk acc. only. It won't run a pump? is this true?

I have read many post on tire plugs. some use the stop & go rubber plugs & some use the cord type with glue. Witch one is better? One of the post had that the rubber plugs leak air. I want to buy a kit for peace of mind that I can get home from out in no mans land. And do the Co2 cartridge's work? Have read some Co2 cans are empty& you lose a lot of air trying to use them. Eather a Co2 or Mini Compressor or Engine air pump. Witch would be the better choise? The stop & go kit looks like the easy way to go? No tire removel. I just want to put a kit together to carry incase it happens, so I can get home With out truble & not be at the mercy of some gowger to empty my walet out in the middle of no ware. Thank's for your input

I went to color tume sight. There is 2 vid, there showing how it works. It looks like something my tool box needs. It is a lot cheeper then the air/fuel guage system I was looking at. that was around 500 bucks. Thanks a Million!!!

I have been reading different post on carb adj. sinking of carbs, float adj. ect. Now what I need to know is how to adj. the jets? How do you know if the adj. is right? with out some kind of air/fuel gauge it is imposable to know if all the jets are right threw all 3 ranges. Your idle could be right & mid range ritch & high end right. witch in turn would be lower fuel milage. Or at high speed the first 2 could be right & high range could be ritch. in turn lower fuel milage & maybe lower power? I know about pulling the plugs & checking them but that is not real acc. in all ranges eather.

Is there a way to correct the speedometer or just be sadisfided with it whe way it is like the tape deck? Why would you build a speedometer wrong & keep it that way? In 50,000 miles you realy have 54,000 Miles. That should be E-legal. Good if you are selling Bad if your buying! I think Yamaha needs to update just a little.

If you are on the west side of s.d. head north to madora. & see the badlands. it is nice. 1 Idea go on line & find nd & sd tourism. tell them you are planing a trip & they will send you a travel guide free. it has all the places to see & do. Scenic byways, hotels in each town. food. I think it is a good place to start to plan your trip. Get the book, look it over, see what there is to see, plan your rout. I don't know if all states have this but ND. SD. MN. do. Call SD 1-800 732 5682 ND.1-800 435 5663 Call & ask for a travel guide. Tell them you are on a bike & they will send info on motorcycle Guide also. With out Knowing a little bit about where you are going. You could be 5 miles from some thing nice & not Know it is there! Has any one ever put a lowering kit on a Venture?? If so does it handle different? I would like to lower the back 1". I have only found a kit for 1.5". I could handle that But don,t Know how it will handle & would it be hard on the drive shaft? any input welcome. My long legs with only 29" inseam would like it just a little lower.

Lazer Star is the name. 50w Bullet spot light. Part # DS-280850. You can find them under weekend concepts & Lazer star. thanks:doh: They don't have a metric mounting bolt to fit the light. The yamaha mount for the blinker is metric. is there a different way to mount the blinker? A short pipe with a flat washer welded to the end so you can pot a nut inside it to hold to the driving light. then slip the blinker over the pipe?????? trying to mount them to a venture light bar instade of the lights yamaha sales. I am finding that yamahas lights would be a lot easer to mount.

Has any one used Lazer Star Billet lights on a Venture? If so how do you like them & what kind of a adapater did you use going from the light to the blinker? My lights are U.S. & the mount for the blinker is Metric. Thanks!!

Just befor I read this I ordered some bullet lights for my venture. they are 50 wts.each. & draw 9 amps total. they told me I would not have a problum with them. Now I don't know. the light that it puts out is 80,000 candle power now I don't know if that is each? or for the pair. My ? is 9 amps to much drow for the bike? mine is a 2008

You can put a elc. unit right in the plenium of your gas fernis. It is a coil that fits in your fernis. then put it on off peak. runs cheep.

check into duel heat!!!!!! See if your power co. offers it. I get my off peak elc. for .03 per kw. the trick is you need 2 ways to heat. because they can control your elc. heat. so in peak time you need your propain.

I was reading the thread on oils. It sounds like most of you use mobil 1. Is that auto oil or do they make Mobil 1 for cycles to? & what kind of filters do you use? auto or cycle. I am new at this & just learning about the doos & dont's on hear. I road a HONDA 900 custom for 22 years with no problums. Just gas oil & tires. used nothing but honda oil in it with no problums. auto oil & filters would be a lot cheeper!!!!! I just got a new 08 venture. "not home yet" I hope it will be a good up grade? The Honda is for sale.
