Seen this one before. He flies over Saltspring island and St Mary lake which is where I live. Unfortunately as he flies over our house he switches the camera to himself.

We were in Mexico and we went to see a couple friends from Saltspring who were doing a comedy act. Part way through the act the guy at the next table pulled out his cell phone and started a loud conversation. The two young ladies who had shared his table got up and moved away. I soaked my napkin in the water glass and was about to wing it into his ear when my wife grabbed my wrist. The problem was solved when one of the guys stopped the act, walked over to him, leaned over and screamed "Shut the F**k up". He shut up.

I used to make out my own returns. It was simple back then but then they started changing the regulations and it became a mess. One year I got fed up and just mailed in the blank forms with all my paper work and a note which said " I give up, you figure it out". They did and even gave me a refund. Mind you...they audited me for the next five years.

I always said my next boat would be called "Medication" due to it's soothing effect and also as in " Sorry, I can't help you move, I am on medication."

Having many years with sailboats I know what the oceans can do. More than once I have been blinded because the waves have been higher than the boat. You just have to know what the sea can do and what you and your ship can do. If you figure you can beat the seas then go ahead, if you figure the seas are going to beat you then run.

One spring I went to put in the battery for my Madura and found the air filter stuffed with maple seeds. The absolute worst was when some otters got into my sailboat. They could make a skunk smell sweet.

Not e bay related but still a scam. People on our little island have recently been hit with a lot of credit card fraud. It appears that someone has one of those scanners that will read your card even while it is in your wallet or purse. They have been selling the info to crooks across the country and even outside the country. It is hard to catch the person with the scanner as all they have to do is walk past you with it in their pocket or briefcase. People are now putting duct tape on their wallets and tin foil in their purses to block the scanner. I have my credit card flagged. If it is used more than 50 miles from home it is refused unless I first notify the credit card company where I am going and when. I used it on our recent trip to Sedona and back with no problems but I had informed the company first.

I was able to quit after 3 years in the mill, 11 years with the airline and 25 years on the boats. I retired at age 59 and have been having a ball ever since. Only problem is as soon as I retired I got real busy, was tempted to go back to work for a rest.

When we were looking for a van for Janet we test drove a lot of vehicles, most of which I could not even fit into. We were standing on a lot in Victoria when a Kia Sedona came in as a trade. We tried it out and it was great. I got a good deal on it as it was end of month and it had not even been on the lot for more than a few minutes, fast turn around. It is good quality and Janet loves it. Have had no problems with it.

Nina is not only good looking but tough, she has to be to put up with Rick. Glad she is OK. When I got my new to me truck it did not have a mark on it. One week later a guy with a flatdeck put a crease down the right rear fender while the truck was parked. A couple weeks later a delivery truck put a dent in the same fender while the truck was parked. A couple months after that a woman nailed it on the same fender, while it was parked. About 4 months later some truck put a big scrape down the same fender, while it was parked. It has been about 8 months now and I am thinking I will get it fixed next spring, if nothing else happens.
