  1. With this thread, I will keep in mind many possibilities that can go wrong including the kickstand. There is always something new to learn in this forum everyday.
  2. I hope you would consider this a happy ending...now you can ride. Ride Safe.
  3. The bike sure looks like my co-worker's 2007 RSTD.
  4. Mine does not really look like H3's from the outside instead it has 2 legs. It also does not look like a sealed beam for it has a phillips screw at the bottom to open the housing. I will try to take a pic once I open the housing this afternoon or tonight.
  5. Thanks for your input KiteSquid. Now that makes sense to me on the 'passing lamp' terminology. I will also take note of the 2 choices of bulbs to get, however, I am a little bit hesitant to open the case and determine what type of bulb it is. I am hoping it would be an H3 bulb and 35W so that may be easier to get. I had a light bar on my Vulcan and it used an H3 25W bulb and was not readily available locally...only online. As I was typing this message, I took a quick peak inside the lamp housing and it did not look like an H3 bulb. I've searched on Google and the PAR36 bulb appears to be a sealed beam type lamp. My bulb has two stems and extends to the back of the lamp housing (as I see through from the outside). Any ideas what kind of bulb it is? I am hesitant to open it up and this might be a cause for a premature failure of my bulb by accidentally touching it.
  6. I am not familiar of an RSCT, but I've seen an RSTD.
  7. I am wondering why they are called 'Passing Lamps' instead of just saying 'Light Bar'? I also have the lamps installed and curious about what kind of bulb does it use. I'd rather keep a spare or two in the garage just in case they burn out.
  8. Your commute to work is really short in my book and that the battery is not getting a full charge (My '08 Prius will not even like that short drive). As mentioned earlier, a good battery tender or conditioner will do the trick. Now that I saw this thread, I may very well plug in my battery while I watch the football game. (No riding for the next 4 or 5 days). One other possibility could be that your stator is not charging your battery properly and your current battery is at a slow death (IMO). Let us know how it turns out, once you plug in your battery...Regards.
  9. J&M is working on a nice Nolan FF helmet with Bluetooth built in for the Venture. I am waiting for them to put it on the market per their email.
  10. I will take 30° instead of the teens...that means I may be able to ride once again next week.
  11. +1. I can still see outdoors after 5 pm and that is a very good sign. This cold air is just getting to my nerves. there is absolutely nothing for me to do outdoors around the house and I even don't feel like working in my garage with temps in the teens.
  12. or less...
  13. The bike for sure has a Bike Show appeal. Not my style of riding though. I give it a 'thumbs Up".
  14. Mine is also located at the same spot. My auxilliary lights are dealer installed, so this may be the recommended spot by Yamaha (left side of the auxilliary 12V plug).
  15. Tough is a light word to use...riding with no helmet in - ° temps. is painful. More power to his cause.
  16. I heard in the news that the US Airways aircraft was an Airbus and in this particular plane, it has an 'auto-ditch' system...(not sure of the term) so if the pilot activates this safety system...all air vents going in and out of the airplane will close making the airplane air tight and sealed. There is no doubt that the pilot made the emergency landing as smooth as possible preventing the aircraft from breaking apart. Trully a miracle!
  17. Hello ksiceman. My auto turn signal cancel is unaffected as well as my Hazard functionality is unaffected. From what I know about the unit that I installed, it is a 'No Load' , 'No Heat' unit. Order the 'Metric Signal Stabilizer' for your Venture. Great product! FYI. My Venture is an '07.
  18. Yes. You can install the unit anytime...Custom Dynamics will hook you up. Regards.
  19. About 2 years ago, I weighed in at 193 lbs. and only 5'5". To date, I keep my weight at 170 lbs. and I don't want to loose any more weight at this point. I pretty much each almost anything, but the most important in being successful to loose the extra pouns is to eat the right PORTION / AMOUNT for the meal + do lots of cardio exercise. Running, jump rope, stairmaster...anything that will bring your heart rate up. I prefer basketball and it is one of my favorite outdoor sports. There is a lot of benefit on loosing those unwanted pounds...and your Venture will like it too. Keep up the good work and KEEP MOVING! Ride safe.
  20. When I installed my LED clusters on the front (run & turn) and rear (turn), it really flashed quite fast than what I am used to. Good thing I ordered the Signal Stabilizer and my flashing rate is at a normal speed and with LED's they really look good. The Stabilizer is very easy to install - perhaps someday you might consider getting one. Regards and ride safe.
  21. We are getting sleet in our area right now and will continue through the night:Bunny2:. Tomorrow should all clear up...Monday can be another ride day (hopefully).
  22. It does work well for tall guys and for sure for shorter guys like me standing at 5'5". The handle bars on the Venture feels more comfortable compared to my old Vulcan cruiser. This bike is really built for serious riders.
  23. There are only certain items that I will buy from eBay and it has to be from a seller with excellent reputation. Otherwise, I am not hard pressed on getting that particular item. Most of the time, I look at eBay as a means of 'window shopping' online.
  24. Based on your post, there is really nothing to worry about. The Venture comes with a 5 year Unlimited Miles Factory Warranty. As far as the whine is concerned, my '07 does not really whine enough to the point that it annoys me. Some members here recommend greasing the splines or realigning the rear ... and most of them report good results. Get the Venture and you will have a lot more $'s left in your wallet for more Bling.
