  1. It'd be cool if the po po had one of those EMP devices that could kill a bunch of the bikes at once. I'd love it.
  2. WOW !!! What a great post. Thanks for all you do. I / we DO appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and like Don said,...we should take some time today to reflect on what we have to be thankful for.
  3. I've had 4 Yammy's in my life. A early 70s MX90 (junk) a late 70s TT500 (awesome hill climber) and now my 87 and 06 Ventures. As much as I love my last 3 Yammy's, it's hard to put down a Honda. I've had a bunch of Hondas, and I liked them all, although every Honda I've ever owned has been pretty cold blooded. (sometimes hard to start, and had to warm up before they'd run right) No doubt, Honda deserves a lotta respect.
  4. Where'd ya get it?
  5. This is out of Columbus, OH., but there's a half off offer for Pennsylvania campgrounds. http://wodc.columbus-deals.com/
  6. You're a true asset to this site, and seem a pretty decent fellow. Best wishes for a complete recovery. Prayers and good Karma being sent your way. Take care.
  7. Yeah, ....Lisa and I were already figuring on trying to set up something for next year. It's a beautiful area. The Willows Restaurant / Bar is just a couple of miles away,...Lotsa nice places to ride. We'll let ya know
  8. Jaycees is right.....you do clean up well...Love the hat, but I'd keep the bow-tie for "special" occasions only. Lookin' good my friend.
  9. Stopped by our cabin near Sinnemahoning PA on our way up to the WNY Mini Rally. Some of my family was there for the weekend, and my niece took a pic of Dad & I just before we continued on to the Rally. Dad at 91 (now 92) and I, the youngest of 6 at 51, (soon to be 52). Cabin in the background, and nieces fiance' (Elliott) with his back to the camera, looking up at the mountain behind the cabin. I thought it was a nice pic, so I figgered I oughta post it.
  10. I've heard that in those situations, it's best to wear loose fitting underwear. Hope this helps:backinmyday:
  11. What I'm really looking for is a camera that I can mount to the bike to record videos of the ride. Looks like gopro is the ticket, but wanted opinions in case there's something out there better suited to my RSV.
  12. It's a bunch of hooey. If you don't jump on the global warming bandwagon, you're called a knuckle dragging denier.
  13. The wife keeps asking me what I want for Christmas, and I was thinking of telling her to get me a Go pro or the like for the bike. More often than not, I don't wear a helmet, so I'd like one that mounts to the bike, but I'm not sure how that'd work. I've a '06 RSV. I'd appreciate any input on cameras and mounting options, so I can just send her a link to exactly what I'd like Santa to bring down the chimney. Thanks a bunch.
  14. Been there, done that......It'll pucker the backside right up until you stop. Congrats on making it through upright. No small feat.
  15. OH COME ON ! You can come up with something tougher than that......Or maybe I'm really smart.......Nah....that couldn't be it.
  16. I'm with ya. I live in the woods with about an acre cleared around the house. I blow them with a parking lot blower (8hp Kohler on it), until they get too deep to blow, then rake them onto a tarp and drag them into the woods and dump them. I've got it just about beat this year, but I wonder if I'm gonna be able to keep this up when I'm a old timer. Hopefully I'll be outta here before I get to the point where I can't handle it. (Gonna retire to a different locale) Small place in Central PA for the Summer, and Central FL for the Winter. Wife wants to move near the Outer Banks, but I doubt we'll be able to afford that.
  17. WOW !!! I'm very glad to hear that you're both gonna be OK. None of us know when our time's a comin'. Hope the wife heals quickly....hope this doesn't taint her opinion of riding. Take care.
  18. Been to Canada maybe 6 or 8 times in my life, and don't remember having any bad experiences there. With the similar cultures and shared borders, it's a natural ally to the US. I do love Canada, but it's a shame that they don't trust their responsible citizens with firearms. (I'd like to see the place that has a gun shop on every corner) It sounds pretty cool, but, in my travels, I've never come across it. 1o, 9, 8, 7,...........
  19. That's why I live out in the boonies. I could never go back to urban / suburban life. I love livin' in the woods.
  20. Might have to go see the wizard. Follow the yellow brick road. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  21. Yup, I have an 85 Nighthawk 700s. I never ride it anymore, and keep thinking I need to sell it, but when I take it out for a quick spin, just to keep it fresh, I'm amazed at how tiny a bike it is, but I LOVE the performance, the sound and the styling of the bike, and fall in love with it all over again. That bike was way ahead of it's time.
  22. LOL Heck, for the cost of a 100' 10 gauge cord, you could probably buy a cheap gas saw. (Poulan or the like)
  23. WELCOME!!! IMHO, you got the best lookin' one of them all. (I may be biased. I have the same bike,)
  24. UH-OH....Here we go again with an electrical question....lol It's not the amps that'll drop, but the voltage, which will cause the amp draw to increase. If you're running 200' of stranded 12gauge wire in your cords you should be fine. If you notice the saw starting to heat up, ...take a break and give it some time to cool and go again. IMHO, you have nothing to worry about. (Waiting on the correction)
  25. If you're planning on stopping between Dayton and Columbus, I'd stop just West of Columbus in the Hilliard area. Heading West, the last exit before you hit the 270 Columbus bypass is Hilliard Rome Rd. Just North of 70 there's a lot going on there. Hotels, shopping, lots of good places to eat....Relatively safe.
