  1. Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at an event in Utah.
  2. This BS has to stop.
  3. Hmmm.. I do know from experience that when replacing, or in your case rebuilding a master cylinder it can be a pain to get the juice to flow at first. With the master full and the brake line disconnected at the master, what happens when you pump the brake handle? I don't think the front / rear brakes are linked on the second gen...not sure though. If they were I'd wonder about the proportioning valve. Someone should chime in and confirm or deny that they're linked. It doesn't seem that it should be this difficult, but I've had similar situations. (Don't make sense) I feel your pain, but I think if you stick with it you'll find the answer. It sounds like (so far) you've been checking all the boxes.
  4. So....I wonder if you were to remove the hose from the master cylinder and immerse it in a container of brake fluid and try the vacuum bleeder at the wheel cylinder....would it draw through the hose? If not, then that would seem to indicate an issue within the brake tubing between the master / slave cylinder.
  5. Don't know if it applies the same in this situation, but I know a collapsed brake line can cause some problems. When you bleed at the caliper, does it seem to have good pressure?
  6. I know...Dumb question, but I gotta ask.... When bleeding by pumping the pedal, are you tightening down the bleeder screw before releasing the pedal? If bleeding with a vac pumper, are you tightening down the bleeder screw before removing? I'm just wondering if you're letting air back in after bleeding....
  7. Lisa and I got home around 730 last night. Thanks to y'all for another great get together. It was wonderful to see so many of my Venturerider friends again. Already looking forward to the next one. Will post a pic or two when I get a minute.
  8. Lisa and I made it Thursday evening. Here now with Rosemary and Dave, Tina and Ron. I-75 was a nightmare coming down...will go back via 77.
  9. Getting ready to head out now.
  10. Lisa and I will be heading down Thursday morning.
  11. VERY NICE !!! Every once in a while life throws you a bone like that. Congrats.!!!
  12. Put over 600 miles over the weekend, more than half wearing the helmet, and it gets an A+. Comfortable, reasonably light weight, great visibility and just the right amount of noise reduction. If I had any reservations, it'd be about the chin strap. Comfortable, but takes some getting used to. All in all I have no complaints.
  13. We ended up getting a couple of LS2 Advant-x helmets in matte black. I'll be riding up to the cabin with friends this weekend so I'll break it in. Seems very soft, comfortable but a bit tight on the cheeks, sales guy says that'll get better after a bit of use. Dangerous stuff going into Iron Pony Motorsports.....They had a burgandy Can Am Spyder Limited ......Damn, it was nice. Not quite ready yet, but if I was, I'd have pulled the trigger on that right on the spot.
  14. Hard to beat the newer Goldwings. I'm hanging onto my RSV until the bitter end....Even if I get a Can Am, I'll still keep the RSV for solo riding. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new scoot. Ride safe.
  15. Beautiful Machine..... I'm Jelly.....
  16. I get that a high output stator can create more heat, but is that still true if I'm not putting any additional load on it? It seems to me that you'll only get more heat when you create more of a load. Looking at a "Ricks" 40a for $179. Keeping in mind that I may never even need it; just don't want to get stuck somewhere.
  17. RM? I see a lot of Ricks, some OEM and some OEM used. Caltric seems to be all over the place...(cheap) Cheap seems nice as an emergency spare, but I've been burnt by Mr. Cheap a few times. Again, just as an emergency spare I don't know if I should spring for the extra $$$ just for the piece of mind. I'm so confused....
  18. Ya don't see that everyday. Someone had a first gen and too much time on their hands. Not diggin' it.
  19. Nope. I don't need a stator, at least not yet. I was thinking of getting a replacement stator / gasket to keep handy in case of failure, which seems to sometimes happen, and usually at a bad time. I see there's stators readily available online, but prices are all over the map. What should I look for and what should I avoid? Opinions appreciated.
  20. I had the Dunlops on mine. Local shop said they're unavailable, so I'm going with a set of Metzlers. They're more expensive, but I figure there's other places I can save money. Tires are pretty important.
  21. I'm looking to buy a couple of helmets for the wife and I. Looking online, there's so many choices at different prices that it's a little overwhelming trying to pick one. I'd like a modular, with the flip down sunshield, preferably with an already installed Bluetooth system, primarily for music or intercom so Lisa and I can communicate while riding....and to hear GPS directions. While I don't want to break the bank, I'm willing to spend a bit more for comfort / functionality / simplicity. With Ventureriders being the most knowledgeable group on the web.....I thought I should ask for opinions... Anyone care to opine?
  22. I was thinking about getting a Spyder but y'all are scarin' me a bit.

    Knives

My father carried an electricians knife with him for most of his life. It was a tradesman's style and was sharpened so many times that it was worn down to a narrow blade..lol.. When he passed, at the funeral, I put it in his pants pocket so that he'd have it on the other side in case he needed it; I miss him.....sniff....
