  1. Lisa and I have been thinking about going with 3 wheels...dunno yet if 2 of them will be in the front or the rear, but if I was looking for a traditional trike....I gotta say.....If you're willing to part with the $$$$.....That Goldwing Trike that Woody had down at Ashville was triked by California Side Car and it's gotta be the sharpest trike I've seen....even if it's not a Yammy....
  2. I've an old Polaris 4 wheeler, and it does what it needs to do, but I've never felt it was a well designed / built machine.....Can't compare to the quality of my other toys. Anyhoo, that's my $0.02...
  3. Vogel....Vogel....??? I've heard of it but don't know what it is or what it's about. Do tell.....Seems to make sense to make any reservations as far in advance as possible....
  4. Lisa, the fur brats and I got home yesterday around 8. Had a great time on the rides....seeing old friends again.....and making new ones.... Many thanks to all that put this together and made this event happen....
  5. I dunno.....I'd call it excessive heat....Looks like it'd be easy enough to mig weld it together and wrap it back up, but without any other changes it'd likely happen again.
  6. Ya don't need to ride to get together at the meet-ups. Hoping for the best for you both. God bless ya.... Thanks for all you've done.....none of the meet-ups, nor the relationships that they foster would happened without you.
  7. Give it the Seafoam "Treatment" and ride. If I put my bike away for the season with ethanol gas in it, It'll leak like yours for the first 20 minutes or so when I first run it again, but will stop and won't have any problems for the rest of the season. This happened to me 3 years in a row...NOW...I make sure I put ethanol free gas, treated with Seafoam in her when I put her away for the Winter and the problem has disappeared. Don't be too eager to tear into the carbs....give it a little time.....and Seafoam....
  8. Loaded up the bike last night...Having our morning coffee....throw some clothes in a duffel....Load the fur babies into the pen....Should be there around dinner time.
  9. I'll do a lot, but generally have a fear of transmissions and carburetors.
  10. Lisa and I discussed it and we're gonna go for it. I climbed a ladder for work today...got home and cut the grass on the riding mower and am still hobbling around...Unless it gets worse, I can ride....So.....WE'RE ON !!!
  11. Not sure if we're gonna make it. Wife and I are discussing it. Frickin' knee went out, for no good reason....I told her I'm not sure I'll be able to straighten up the bike. Feels better today, but it's a one step up and two steps back sorta thing...been going on for a week now......If we can't make it, this will truly be the Summer of Suck...I'll let ya know....
  12. Niece and her hubby mentioned they were having some issues with brakes on their Honda Accord...(Years ago)....I stopped by to look at it, and as I pulled up they were dumping brake fluid in the power steering pump....lol....

  14. Just ordered a set of EBC. I was thinking about it on a recent ride....seemed to make a bit more noise than they should have. Your post prompted me to get that done this weekend....THANKS !!! Update: Just replaced the rear pads. Inside pad was almost to the metal, so I got to it just in time....Put a little air in the rear shock....(45psi)...Won't clean it up until I get there. Seems that every time I clean her up before hand it'll rain...In any case I'll see y'all there....
  15. All part of "Building Back Better".... Going to take some sacrifice, but in the end we'll own nothing and we'll be happy.....
  16. Just ordered a set of EBC. I was thinking about it on a recent ride....seemed to make a bit more noise than they should have. Your post prompted me to get that done this weekend....THANKS !!!
  17. Similar to whatca got there, plus one of those little battery packs to jump start my, or others bikes, and I carry a replacement fuel pump, as I've read where it's a common problem.... Also carry a tow rope and light duty jumper cables. 2 of my friends ride bikes from the 80s and I'm keeping them in mind.
  18. Just got back from a few days up the cabin with friends Had a GREAT time....rained every day, but not until we were done riding. I never got wet. Had NO issues with the battery....a slight issue with a hangover... Nothing better than lifelong friends around a campfire with beer and cigars.
  19. Yeah...moving forward, I think I WILL disconnect the battery in the Winter. Would still like to know what's draining it.
  20. I'm heading out on a trip with friends up to the cabin, and going over the bike, I decided to put a new battery in it. Haven't ridden for a month or so and the battery was dead. Charged it up, then went for a 1/2 hour ride to get it charged up; put the bike back in the shed and 2 days later it's weak. Down to 9.7 volts. So I replaced it. It was a year old AGM, NOT on a tender, and I've now replaced it with a lead-acid. I've had this bike since 2012 and I think there was only one year that I didn't feel the need to replace the battery. I've done the basic checks, making sure any accessories are disconnected when she's sitting, but the problem persists. Is there a common issue that would cause the slow drain that's killing these batteries? Not a major issue, but I"d like to get it resolved. Now that I've put a lead-acid battery in it I'll leave it on a tender again, but it's aggravating when you turn the key and nothing happens.
  21. Congratulations. Wishing you good health and prosperity throughout this next chapter in your life.
  22. Yep, we use it in the HVAC trade. We use it to pressurize for leak checks because it's clean and DRY. We also use it as a purge gas when brazing. As I think of it, .....if you use it to purge while making a brazed joint, it keeps the inside of the pipe clean and shiny. Without it there's HEAVY oxidation created while brazing. That makes me think that, if used to inflate tires it would keep the rim and potentially the tire itself from the effects of oxidation as well. Just spitballin' here.
  23. I believe the nitrogen doesn't increase or decrease pressure as much as air. Just so happens that I always have some nitrogen around for work, so I do at least fill the motorcycle tires with nitro....it's free, and quicker than a compressor.
