    OK so if I understand this you cant do this on a MKII. at least not with the stock headlight bucket. Guess my next question is can a MKI headlight bucket be used on a MKII to make this work on my 91? David

    wish I could answer your question but I will be watching as I have some of the same problems. Stiff throttle that is and really have to twist it hard to go to wot.Hope the answers come soon. David

    Your wright up on how to replace the rear brake pads gave me the curage to do it myself..........Agin thank you as it saned me quite a bit by doing myself and now gives my a l.ittle more curage to do other things to this old girl myself. On a different note its amazing how well these things stop with new pads on the rear. I knew they were bad but it was almost touching on the inside pad and less than 1/8th and inch on the outside. guess I got my money on that set. I took a look at the front so they are next. I had a set of fa123's on hand so they went on the rear but I think I may put the sinterd set on the fronts as money gives leeway. Later all and again thanks fuzzy David

    Not shying away from the vmax for fuel reasons. The gear ratio woiuld raise my rpms to an uexceptable range for me. Not saying its bad but a lot of times with the group I ride with its 75-80 mph. At that speed Im already in the 4500 rpm range and from what I understand the vmax rear will raise the rpms aproximately 500 -600. So I would be at 5000-5100 at those speeds and I know the motor will handle it but jsut not willing to push a 20 yr motor that hard for hrs at a time> David

    nope what Im hearing is not mild. It was mild when I bought the bike 20,000 miles ago. Now its getting loud er as time goes on. David

    the original has 80,000 on it. And yeah I been watching ebay but thought it would be nice to help a member out if they needed or wanted to sell one. David

    well it apears that the final drive on my 91 vr is giving up its innards. Its making the dreaded howl when you let off the throttle. Kinda sounds like a dump trunk thats using the engine as a break. Does anybody have one that will fit they are willing to let go of. I have already talked to muffinman as to weather or not its the final or something else. I had the rear end and axle and drive shaft greased at the dealor and it didnt help. They even agreed that it was the final but no way Im paying $1500 for them to rebuild it.. anyways any help will be apreciated. Even if its ideas to check instead of replacement. Im even thinking of pulling the rear tire myself to regrease it . I have no idea what Im doing but Im sure with the help of this site and great members I can figure it out. Thanks in advance, David

    thanks Squidley for letting me now where hes at. Been waiting on a call form him and he called me just before I opened up this page. Looks like we will be putting him up some time tomorrow. And yeah folks he cant help the way god made his looks but he is just like sguid said house broken and all. David

    no prob Bilko1 first go to the top of the page second dark blue line you will see user cp (click on that). Next page yopu will see several boxes on the left on page scroll down till you see settings options and click on edit signature. then scroll down till you see signature picture in a dark blue line. Click on the insert picture link and follow the instuctions from there, As I remember you browse to wherever you have the map pic located and upload it . It should prompt you from there, hope this helps David

    Im just kicking around the idea of removing the radio and tape deck on my 91 vr. Is it possible to replace these and still keep the cb. I use my cb regularly and am not currently happy with the sound from my stock radio, It is good with the headset but without not so much. i have replaced the stock speakers and tis made a bit of a difference but not too much. any idea will be apreciated David

    ok this may or may not work and how safe it may be I dont know either. I was at harbor frieght today and seen two pieces that may do the job for you. They had an adaptor that turned the 1 1/4 into a 2 inch reece set up/ Then they had a 2 inch shaft that was adjustable from -9 inches to + 10 or so inches. I have the hitch shaft that is adjustable and I pull trailer with 4 wheeler on it just fine behind my van. Again not sure of safety or weather it would work but its an idea. David
