    Just got some new end caps that go on the end of handelbars and for the life of me can't figure out how to change them. P O scuffed up the right on pretty good and the new ones are nice and shiny. Anyone able to give me some insight on changing these buggers out?

    I also have progressive and by chance will be up for renewal next month. Will start checking around because I don't want to go through all this if it happens to me.

    While I had the CB out looking for a loose wire or something I could fix, I opened up the bottom and back of the radio and could see the shaft turning without having any effect. Several people mentioned the knob may be turning without turning the shaft, that is not the case.

    Anyone got a CB for a 1st gen. they would part with? Squelch pot on mine is shot so I can either listen to CB or radio but not both at the same time.

    have you checked the tread on your rear tire? My 86 has a whine with cold tires (Elite II) that drove me nuts til I figured it out.

    I shoot a pearson 68# recurve thats older than me and has 0% letoff. Killed many deer and won several tournaments as well. No sights, cables, wheels, overdraws or anything useless. Did I mention Howard Hill taught me to shoot back in the late 60's?

    Last year while riding the squelch on my CB quit working.Turning the squelch knob has no effect. Now when riding I have to either listen to radio or CB. If i turn on CB it over rides radio. Took CB out and checked all connections. Took bottom plate off CB to check internal connections all seemed good. Any ideas before I have to bite the bullet and buy another CB?

    want to install covers I bought a long time ago just never got around to it. don't want to have bike sitting while I take spacer to machine shop. I rode in snow last week and will damn be sure to ride now its getting into the 70's.

    Installed them this afternoon. Took about 15 min after taking off the seat. Bolts onto back of passenger grab bar. Mine was missing whatever piece thay keeps them from flopping too far out or in. Small L bracket on each side is temporary fix. Will get bike out of garage tomorrow and see about taking a few pics.

    Does anyone have one of the shouldered spacers that is required for the installation of the chrome rotor covers?

    I'm the one that bought that set but haven't had the chance to try and get them installed yet. Planning on putting them on this weekend if all goes as planned. Will let you know how it goes.

    Around here they are called "organ donors". Couple of years ago during the AMA Superbike race here there were a couple clocked by troopers at 200+mph, never caught. In the last 3 years there have been 14 motorcycle deaths within 5 miles of my home. All due to excessive speed. Run off the road around here and you hit a guardrail, a tree or a rock.

    I've been in your shoes before. The only difference was I had to replace the seat as well. Seems one of the pieces of flying debris came up and tore a large round hole in the seat right where I was sitting.

    We usually get a snow once every 3 or 4 years that lasts a few hours. Good reason to pack the grocery stores, close school and me take off work and go hunting. Here's the good part, I have ridden My Venture to the hunting camp to go hunting!!! Cental Alabama is so brutal in winter.

    My youngest daughter has been riding with me since she was 3. The oldest started at 7. Not interstate highwys to begin with, just easing along country roads to get them used to it. I've got a picture of me riding with my mom and dad when I was about 2, riding down the beach in Daytona.

    ]Mine is up on the jack getting a bath almost after every ride, and while I am cleaning the white walls, I find it very easy to visually check the tires for nicks and or road debris punctures and check the air pressure while it is up in the air on the jack and convienent to get to..but Im not normal either as they say.... I do not check the tires before every ride....short or long...because when I return home either that same night or the next day it is up on the jack getting a quick bath..and ready for the next ride.. Knowing Eck, he's got the thing jacked up eye level.

    Knowing the dealer you're talking about, it don't surprise me. Did you get kicked out like you expected? I didn't make it due to soon-to-be-ex crazy antics.

    Rode my Vulcan to work everyday 3 years ago from August to February. Got as low as 4 one morning, made me miss those 100+ degree days I complained about in the summer. No heated suit, just goose down coveralls.

    Anyone got any ideas on where I can find Urushi Black paint to repair my saddelbag lid mishap? Yamaha dealer was totally useless as far as getting any info. Trying to keep it original.:bang head::bang head:

    If I had a warning light for all the dumb things that could go wrong my dash would look like a 747 airplane.

    I've been told to watch those lids and have been diligent for the past 1 1/2 years that I've owned the bike to do so. Just takes 1 time. Wish I had thought about some sort of tether a few weeks ago. Anyone know where I can get some Urshuran Black paint?
