  1. Hey David I kind of like Riverduke better...about like you calling me Wentworth in the ride schedule threads.
  2. Sorry Craig, you know as soon as I sent the post I thought to myself did I spell your screen name right...guess not. So what does Cecdoo stand for anyway?
  3. I had posted this under the Meet & eat thread but only Ceedo read it. So here it is a gain. We had a great time at the 1st PA Meet & Eat and what a fantastic turn out. It was really good to meet everyone. A special thanks goes out on behalf of my wife and myself to the the VA/NC and SC guys. I got a front flat at 65 mph a little past the exit for route 15 south at Frederick MD, and man that was scarey! The Muffinman had a portable pump with him and they got the tire pumped up enough so I could hobble to the Sheetz in Leesburg Va. Got a can of tire fixit and pumped it back the rest of the way. Seems I had a slow valvestem leak and the tire just blew. They all made sure we made it home safely. THANKS AGAIN guys for all your help! The Muffinman said the nicest thing out on the side of the road, "We never leave anyone behind" What a great bunch of folks. Kim & Karen Woodworth

  5. David, That sound great, I'll meet you all at the Sheetz in Leesburg. I'll be riding 2 up for the first ride longer than just around the neighborhood. Wish I had some training wheels...haha!!! See you all on Saturday. Kim Woodworth
  6. I pretty much have some tools and a tire plug kit, but after reading this post I may add a few things. After RiderDuke's ignition switch went out on the way to the NC Meet & Eat at Deadwood, I think a toggle switch and wire would be a great idea too. When I bought my 2007 it didn't come with a tool kit so the dealer ordered me one. I was changing my spark plugs this weekend and didn't have a single socket that was thin enough to fit. I just happened to look in the tool kit that comes with the bike and low and behold there is a spark plug socket, it sure save me a lot of trouble. I wouldn't even know where to buy a thiner walled socket.
  7. David, let me know about getting a VA group together fot the PA Meet & Eat closer to time. Maybe we can meet at the same place in Leesburg (Sheets) and ride up from there. For the Skid-In I was going to try a little bit more senic route. I was thinking of taking RT 66 to Rt 81 then at Harrisonburg take RT 33 across the mountians into WV. I thought of meeting up say maybe at the Linden exit on RT 66. I took off both Thursday the 25th and Friday the 26th of June from work for the Skid-In, so I'll be heading up on Thursday morning and returning Sunday morning.
  8. Late April or early May sounds great to me. Hey Craig I thought the Skid-In was the 26,27 and 28 of June this year. I already made my reservations at the Microtel Gassway for then, Hope I didn't screw up on the dates.
  9. Since I haven't camped in a tent since I was a kid, I played it save and made reservations at the Super 8 Motel at Black Mountian. Strange thing is they already billed my credit card for the full 3 days. Most places don't bill until you check in. Hope I don't have a hassle over this. I printed off my credit card bill and willl be taking it with me.
  10. OMG - Yes! My first one was a blue metalflake 3/4. Didn't need it for motorcycles back then in 1968 but most of the 1/4 mile race tracks required them. I had a 1964 Pontiac 389, 4 speed with 3 duces. Ran 12's in the 1/4 mile. What I wouldn't give to have that car back again now.
  11. Check out www.wingstuff.com. I bought my heated clothes there so they send me an email flyer all the time. They had a trunk bag on sale for 34.99 half price. I got the bag last week and couldn't believe how nice it was for only 35 bucks. It even came with a rain cover and has velcro straps to attach it to the trunk rack.
  12. And if the 3 inches of snow wasn't enough yesterday in Northern Virginia we had freezing rain all last night. The roads looked like an ice skating rink this morning. Thank goodness for Chevy Silverado 4 wheel drive!!!!
  13. Gee thanks Brian for sending the snow my way!! It's 6:42 AM here in Northern Virginia and the snow is coming down. Thank goodness they are only calling for 1 to 3 inches east of the Blue Ridge though. Hope you warm up soon.
  14. I haven't seen any thing on the calendar for the 2009 Skid-in yet. I made my reservations and hope I got the dates correct for 2009!
  15. Nope, I can't get to it either
  16. Does any one know how I screwed up the pictures on Photobucket, this is the first time I've tried using it. My link looks like all the rest but my pictures don't show up until you hit the back to kawoodworth in the albums tab.
  17. At around 11 years old I built my first motorized bicycle. I used a B&S lawn mower motor, cut the down tube short enough to mount a piece of plywood for the motor to sit on and away I went. Those sure were the days.

  19. Thanks guys for all your opinions. I think I have decided to just take my bike back to the dealer the next time I need an inspection since they inspected it when I bought it and there were no problems. I'm going to try and attach a picture of my bike to show the lights. Fogs on the bottom forks and driving/passing or what ever on the light bar.
  20. I took my 2007 RSV in to be inspected on Friday at a local gas station In Herndon Virginia. The inspector told me that the passing/driving lights and fog lights could only come on at low beam. Both the driving/passing lights on the light bar and the fog lights on the bottom of the forks have seperate switched. The driving/passing lights have a push button switch on the inside of the faring next to the power accessory plug and the fog lights have a switch that is attached to the gas tank. When I bought the bike from the dealer these were already installed by the PO. They inspected the bike with no problems. The inspector said he would let me go this time but does anyone know if this is true that they can only come on with the low beam?
  21. Dennis, I have both the vest liner and the gloves. The vest gets so warm even on low that I usually only keep it on for short periods of time while I'm riding. The gloves are ok but to me they never really feel hot when on the high setting. The gloves have the controller on the top of the glove and the vest controller attaches to an elastic band that you can put around the top of your leg so it makes it easy to adjust the temp. All in all I am pleased withe their products and the price was really good from Wingstuff.com. Hope this helps.
  22. I sure did Margaret, it was the first meet & eat I attended and what a great time it was all except the pouring down rain all the way until I got back out on 95 north. It's also nice to know another Venturerider org member owned the bike first. Kim
  23. I bought my blue/black 07 RSV just after xmas last year from Valley Cycles in Winchester Virginia. It was one year old with 10,5K miles on it and just loaded with accessories. Well this morning I was viewing the member gallery pictures of DREBBIN in the forum and OMG there was my RSV, the fog lights, flander's bars, steel braided lines, passing lights, back rest, single toe shifter, luggage rack and black light bar on the trunk. All the salesman ever said was the bike was purchased there and that the owner sold it back to them to buy his wife a new car. Thanks Venturerider org it sure is nice to find a little history about my RSV!
  24. Jim,

I measured my Clear View winshield and it is 15 inches from the point you showed me om the gas tank, sorry I don't know if that is their large or what. Hope this helps. I had a great time atthe meet & eat today, nice to meet everyone.

  25. I went to Carlisle PA Bikefest on Saturday 26th. Saw a total of 7 RSV. Well out of the thousands of bikes that's what I found. Talked to a coupe from NY on a 2000 mm, and a guy from Northern MD on a 2003. Saw another Galaxy Blue/Raven 07 parked with VA tags. Was that any one from here? As I was leaving the gate 2 2000 MM's were coming in to the fair grounds. I stopped at the Chile's on the way out for lunch and saw a bunch of bikes pulling in the parking lot. In the group was a 2007 Midnight. It was nice to see that many RSV not at a M&E since I rarely ever see another one on the road.
