  1. I mounted a second 12v plug (water proof type) right side , zipped tied to the highway bar. I use this one for either my 110v converter or to recharge my cell-phone. Soon I will mount another or just move the second plug into the trunk. Zumo is hardwired . BEER30
  2. Who need to carry conceal ? BEER30
  3. COOL BEANS ! I hope to go this year. But with all the work we have , it's hard to say. The Boss said if it looks good , I will be going solo. Hoping to go and if I can , I'll look you up. Last year RiderDuke and Courtney found me up near the front. I'm assuming we will be in the same place. BEER30
  4. I'm a member of Rolling Thunder NC-5 . I have gone to DC the last 2 years. Depending of work will dictate if I'm able to go this year. For Rolling Thunder members , it's work the entire time we are there. Our Chapter is assigned Security at the Friday Night Gold Star Visual at the Wall (if they have again this year) and at the in the Pentagon Parking Lot and Reflection Pool. We stay at Rolling Thunder HQ at the Hyatt in Crystal City. Sylvester , this coming year will be some changes as I was told. Being that there was a huge screw up last year in security. RT National Security is going to be more strict on whom is at the front of the line and whom will be there. I'm not going to explain why , but be prepared. Our Chapter will be right behind National and some of the VIP's as our Chapter has the honor of many important task. Since I have been going to RT , I have only seen 2 people allowed in the front group and they had to have permission from National to do so. One was a Veteran with one leg whom road numerous miles to be at RT. It was a safety issue as well as an honor to bring him forward. Another was a Gold Star Mother whom wanted to ride. Even our non-member's guest have to go to the tail end if they want to ride in the demonstration. If you get to the Pentagon Parking lot , be prepared with food a drink and a chair with umbrella ! CMA, PGR and other volunteer groups do an excellent/outstanding job in helping where needed. The weather is unforeseen at this time , so be prepared. They pack the bikes in nice and tight to let you know and it get's hot on that asphalt. If you get there early and have a small cook stove , you better have a fire extinguisher for every bottle/can of fuel , or I will nail you ! Bummer there is no booze allowed , but hey that is the rules. I'll have to confiscate that myself as well. LOL ! Watch for the fly-over and Artie mounting the scoot .......Let's Ride ! BEER30
  5. I carry both Open Carry and Concealed using either a Bersa .380 or XD 9mm Sub-compact . I also have CCW Laws websites bookmarked on my Droid as well . When Open Carry , I use either a G-Code or my own self made holster mounted on a G-Code RTI wheel . The RTI wheel is a Quick Disconnect that mounts on my belt. I can take off and on with ease aand even have an extra RTI wheel mounted on a RAM mount if needed out in the open . When Concealed , it's in my inside vest pocket. Not to get into a spittin contest , I carry because it's my rights. I carry because that if the need may arise , I can protect not only myself, my wife and family/friends and live another day. Especially on a bike , you have less protection than a inside a cage . In a cage , you have more resources to protect you and your family, Lock doors and speed off away from danger if need too. On a scoot at a red light or stop sign , one stranger/pedestrian can come across and with one hand, pull you down ! If that would have happened , you know what that persons intent to do. So having a form of protection in the trunk or saddlebags isn't going to do you any good at that time. Might as well leave you protection at home. Carrying a firearm is a huge responsibility. Knowledge and an abundant amount of training is needed. I myself have taken several Carry Conceal courses as well as Tactical Pistol courses. Next is some Tactical Carbine classes, now I have my new AR-15 . Soon to get my Tax Stamp and a 7" SBR ! BEER30
  6. Yes , it's been a while Charlie . Too darn busy .....as usual here at the shop. Plus I have been nursing the hips as much as I can. Going to get even more busier as the shop was awarded the Canadian Mil. Contract for the next 3 years. But Becky and I will be taking vacation here soon , Whoopee ! See you at Maintenance Day . BEER30
  7. I can see several reasonings for Charlie to put the pegs on the wrong sides , other than besides the point of they would match the way he put his boots on anyways. Oh , by the way Charlie , the fly opening on your shorts point forward, tag to the rear! But he does have a keen idea for the extended corner pointing downwards. By this manner he will be able to scrape the pegs at a lessor angle. As we know if he leans any more , the old fart will think it's nap time ! :stickpoke: BEER30
  8. Come on now ....Fishing is fun and relaxing , especially offshore . As soon as I get 20 miles offshore ....it's nap time . Down in the hole I go and catch some ZZZZZZZ's until the boys holler "FISH ON" . Then I'm up at the wheel until the Mahi-Mahi is landed . Then nappy time again . How relaxing BEER30
  9. Don't give up so darn easily ..........A rattle can of Glossy Black and Californy Chrome can be obtained any any auto parts store ! BEER30
  10. Oh , you finally found your bearings . Now for the missing link ................ I've used BB's to block vacuum hose in my older trucks for the EGR valves . Kept them puppies form robbing HP and saved fuel . Had to keep the EGR pumps on the truck for Emissions Inspections . BEER30
  11. If you are riding the scoot all the way up the ALCAN , I would think about covering everything . Now it has been 16 years since I last been down the ALCAN , but that soot from the road is like concrete when it dries . It's a bear to scrub off , so wash the scoot as soon as possible . Last time I traveled , the roads were good , except when they rip up a 50 mile stretch at a time in many places . I would get a Bra set for the upper and lowers and a lens cover . I have seen cages and bikes with wire mesh screens mounted on the front for gravel. Like I said , it has been some time since I travel . All together I have made 7 trips up and down the ALCAN . The Cassiar Highway is also nice except certain road construction . HAVE FUN ! BEER30
  12. That's probably all it is . We haven't seen any pic's yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEER30
  13. Shhhhhhhhhhhh , don't give him any idea's !!!!!!!!!!! BEER30
  14. Idiots in my area have a hard time doing this . It urks me to see them do it . But then again , the majority of slowwwwwwww traffic constantly drive in the inside lane anyways . BEER30
  15. Charley most likely may have dropped the camera in the lake , like he did with the rod and reel I sent him . BEER30
  16. Looks Great !! I really enjoy pulling the BEERCART . Wife and I go out on day trips with really no plans . It's a nice feeling knowing that if you run across some deals on the way , there is a way to bring them home . At our Rolling Thunder and some M & E's events when I ride up on just the scoot , everyone asks ,"Where's the BEERCART" ? I wished I had more time to play , I would thoroughly enjoy building another trailer . BEER30
  17. Well here are 3 more choices of TP . BEER30
  18. Better yet , remove the rear fender (bobber style), get some riding time and ease back and the rubber wipe yourself . Speaking of smelly burn-outs . BEER30
  19. Is everyone forgetting about the pond ? Crap and rinse .......Man there is going to be a crap load (pun intended) of Baby Ruth bars floating for the Pond Monster , Don , just make sure the plunger is in the restroom . BEER30
  20. Just wonder if he got plumbing on the scoot now ....with hot and cold running water ? BEER30
  21. OK Squidley , let's make sure you get this correct before you offend anyone . The end of the puppy that has 2 floppy things is the head , the end with one floppy thing is it's........... Want to make sure you know your head from your .......before you start complimenting Big Tom. Just do not want to have to shave the rear end of the beautiful 'lil puppy and teach it to walk backwards ! :rotfl::rotfl: BEER30
  22. Hey Big Tom , I have a couple of friends whom raise Pit-Bulls . I make them their toys . I sew up about 4 layers of 2" scuba webbing in a circle . Believe or not , they last about 2 months with chewing and playing tug-a-war . I can make you one if you wish . BEER30
  23. Was that the little pooch that was tearing your arse up when we were talking on the phone the other night ? She's cute as all get out ! BEER30
  24. It's a Great feeling working for yourself...............at first ! There will be trying times and some Good times . Good Customer Service will get you a long way and advertise the business better than any adds . Brandie has a Great personality and will have Happy customers . Need to get some photos for a poster with Chrome Rose on her scoot , birds perched on the handlebars , dogs and cats under the tires.....I mean on the tank , snakes wrapped around Chrome Rose's body , gerbils and hamsters in her saddle bags and Wayne or myself portraying the Monkeys........Wait , wait not Wayne or myself , we will have a PITA attack ! I need to come over to the new shop and get a Scooby snack ! BEER30
  25. Some have mounting plates that connect between the base plate and the ram mount . Some have placed the antenna in the fairing , but then you cannot switch from scoot to cage if desired . I made a mount out of Kydex . That's a form-able plastic that I heated up with a heat gun and molded it to affix to the mirror mount . Used adhesive hook and loop to secure the antenna to the Kydex mount . Sorry , no photos of it . The Weather is useful , but you can get better info off your cellphone if you have that feature . XM Weather is more of an Icon based map .You can pan the map to see what the weather reports are in just about any major area . It's worth it to me and if you travel alot and a greater distances , some may differ. BEER30
