  2. Yep, it's been a while since I've seen Ole 86er but, that's just as I remember him. , That was super funny. 86er Love you man, You rock:thumbsup2: Have a safe trip home:Venture:
  3. I'll say, I looked at my address and there is a red truck parked in front of my house that belonged to my downstairs tenant. He died in his bed two years ago. He quit driving and got rid of the truck two years before that. Fiqured photo was at least four years old.
  4. Trying to clean up my work areas and back yard I realized just how many good 1st gen parts I still have on hand. The 84 XVZ1200 parts bike is oly about 25 % disassembled and I still have most of an 87 XVZ1300 motor and a bunch of misc. stuff. Just a reminder, if you are looking for 1st gen parts send me a PM and let me know what you need. Chances are good I'll probably have it. They are going cheap cause I need to clear my space. Thanks
  5. Where's the pics of the bike?
  6. HMMMMMMMMMMM, Lubbock, Texas huh, Lubbock might not be so bad. Resume Sent, Crossed fingers and Prayers please. Thanks for the post.
  7. I might be interested in your first gen cup holder if your not gonna be using it. I haven't been able to find one that works on my first gen.
  8. When you get this way let us know. We will be glad to hook up in N. Ga, W. TN, or E, NC. There are many great rides and BBQ places.
  9. It would also be neat to post how many miles gift traveled through which peoples hands to what places.
  10. If you do get it make sure to post pictures. Those of us that haven't seen it want to know what it is . Inquiring minds want to know.
  11. Northern Handiman and Harbor freight has a carport shed kit with a frame and tarp roof that is about 10' wide by 20' long and makes a great bike shed for about $100 bucks. For a little more you can get the accessory kit that has walls and a front and back zipper door. Or for about $16.00 J&P motorcycle catalog has a gigantic plastic bag (heavy thickness) that fits over the bike. Both work great to keep the rain off the bike if you have to park it outside. Or I have Walmart sells a pretty good bike cover for pretty cheap. If you need any parts I'm parting out a 84 1200 that still has a lot of good parts left on it. Sounds like some of your other problems may be poor electrical connections. This is very common on these bikes especially if the sit out in the rain. Get some CRC electrical contact cleaner and diaelectric grease and start cleaning and greasing all of the pull apart electrical connections.
  12. A project bike pictorial calendar of the most tore down project bikes.
  13. Who was riding the red on red 1st Gen MK1 that I passed in downtown Dahlonega, Ga this morning (monday June 1st) I was on the Blue metal flake mk2 with the gold metal flake flames. We honked and waved as we passed.
  14. Lewis, I'm sorry your big toe is sore, But, I'm happy you got three days off. Too bad you won't be able to ride though. It's good you didn't insult the Dr. to much where he could have made a bigger incision. But, you do have three days off, and the weather is sposed to be great. Primo bike riding weather. Gee, sucks to be you this weekend. Hope you get better soon. I'll be thinking about you while I'm riding this weekend.
  15. Thanks Freebird, I've loved this truck but, a man's got to do what a man has to do. I've been sprucing her up getting it ready to sell and regretting it more and more having to sell her. Her departure is inevitable now since the first bidder met the reserve. This truck will be a super deal for someone since I have over $18,000 in it and forced to sell. It's not a good economy for getting what a collector vehicle is actually worth.
  16. I'll be watching. I did the Atlanta to Sturgis and back the long way last summer and had a blast. Covered 20 states and 6505 miles door to door. While your in the SE and if you get a chance to tour western North Carolina, Eastern Tn and N. Ga. let me know and I'll try to catch up and ride with yall awhile. Off course you must do Deals Gap and the Tail of the Dragon while your this close.
  17. I probably shouldn't say, but, since it was met by the first bidder I quess it doesn't matter. Reserve was $3,000
  18. Bid it up and win her, I'll drive it to Texas for you if you buy the gas. I'd like to see ole Tx2sturgis and silverbullet again in Amarillo
  19. Way to go Snaggletooth, looks great. now it's time to :7_6_3[1]::7_6_3[1]:
  20. Thanks, Your right this model truck was built like a tank and is vertually indestructable. Yea your right the overflow is an antifreeze container. Not factory original but it works.
  21. This is not bike related but I wanted to let anyone who might be interested know that I put my Classic 1965 Chevy C-10 Pick-up truck on ebay for a quick sell to raise cash. This truck has the popular and classic short bed stepside body style with the small rear window which makes it the most popular and collectible body style for the 1965 year model. You can see the auction by following the link below. Sorry the link did not work or I don't know how to post the link correctly but the item number is 330332649886
  22. I found an engine degreaser at the auto part store that is in a aerosol can that comes out of the knozzle as a expanding foam. (Like Scrubbing Bubbles)Spray on let foam sit and work untill it desolves into liquid and runs off carring dirt and grease with it then hose it off with high pressure water and it's clean. Shines chrome up good and doesn't seem to hurt anything else. If you got a really dirty spot you can use a brush with it while it is foamy.
  23. I'm gonna try and make it but 2 months away is too far ahead for me to make definate plans. I don't know what may be coming up that might end up screwing up any plans I make right now.
  24. Awhile back I had accidently dropped a rubber grommet in my gas tank. Worrying that it might disolve in the gas and gum up the fuel filter or worse, I was able to fish it out by removeing the gas sensor in the top of the lower portion of the tank, (under the seat) The opening where the gas sensor hole was large enough and give me direct access to the bottom of the tank to allow me to fish out the grommet easily. Seems to me that going into the tank at the sensor would allow you to direct a magnet to pick up metal parts. Might be worth a try.
