It is sad to hear the old rascal isn't doing well. Lowell is a one of a kind and he knew the day would come when he couldn't ride anymore. He always said he was doing things while he could because he didn't know when he wouldn't be able to do it anymore. I wont feel sorry for him but I do feel admiration. He has touched the lives of thousands of people and that is something most of us will never be able to do. Ride on Lowell we do miss you on here.

Thats not correct when the humidity goes up the heat index goes up the reason the heat index goes up is because the cooling effect from evaporation goes down. It feels hotter to you because your perspiration does not cool your body as well in humid air. Your bike does not perspire at least mine doesn't. When the heat index goes up you bikes cooling system become more efficient because humid air absorbs more heat than dry air. To answer the first question don't waste your money if your cooling system is in good condition 100+ temps are no problem for you bike.

Thanks for the responses. I had a 2008 klr650 that I liked but it was not very comfortable after a couple hours on the road. I miss the ability to explore dirt roads and tame trails and still be able to ride all day on the road. This is not a replacement for the venture or the harley just an other toy in the box for different purposes. We went to the dunes national monument but didn't go into the park. Sand dunes don't excite us much we live in the desert surrounded by sand dunes.

The bike in ft collins had a weak spark on a dry plug out of the cylinder but would not fire under compression. -
Anybody here have any experience with r1150gs or r1200gs? I'm thinking about buying one just wondering what owners or previous owners think about them.

I've been out riding with some friends this week we covered 2800 miles in 8 days. Lets see who can figure out where we went with some pictures.

Most likely a bad coil. The choke is not a choke as you know it there is no butterfly its just a valve that adds fuel. Look at the plug in the dead cylinder it will probably be washed clean and wet. Your oil will probably be contaminated with gas (smell the oil fill cap).

Lori bought it not me, I installed the windshield and the seat after she bought them she bought the wrap and had it installed. I do still have the blue venture and I would not trade it for the spyder.

Seafoam will make smoke not a lot but lite white smoke on acceleration.

I would be their with the bill of sale in hand when they opened the doors in the morning. You own it they can not hold it if necessary the police will inform them that theft is illegal. The longer it stays their the greater the chances an (accident) could happen to it.

Just because they have the title to your bike doesn't mean they own it. I assume the title has your name on it. Was the work they were doing warranty or do you owe them for the work? I would go pick up your bike and pay the repair bill if you owe it. If they won't let you have it call the police. The only way they can hold your bike is if they have a mechanics lien against it.
