  1. The Beast started pissing coolant yesterday. I tracked it down to a pin-hole leak in the large hose on top of the front head. While messing with it I removed the radiator cap and found it covered in 'milkshake' goop. Obviously I have oil leaking into the cooling system. All of the coolant that leaked out yesterday was nice and clean. Any suggestions would be appreciated about now . . .
  2. My wife is scheduled for a heart calf tomorrow. The doctor is going to do the procedure around 4 PM. I took her to the Emergency Room around 4:30 pm yesterday evening. I stayed there last night and just got home a few minutes ago. My daughter will stay tonight and I will return tomorrow to stay while the doctor does the procedure. Please remember my wife in your prayers. We are hoping and praying that there is nothing real serious wrong. She is doing fine for now, but was so very sick yesterday. I could tell that she is really concerned and frightened, and so am I. Thank you all so much. James
  3. "Dottie" is in the driveway A friend drove me up to get my trike late yesterday....... Couldn't wait for them to deliver! Can't seem to move the grin off me face
  4. I bought a Last of the breed Pontiac early this year. 4 door G6 pretty well equipped. What is this thing going to do. Will it hold value pretty well or bottom drop out because they aren't around any more. I thought it would hold pretty well. Some dumba** tried to tell me yesterday it is worthless because they don't make them any more. I couldn't get Blue book to work this morning.Pretty sure its not worthless.
  5. As I noted in my post on Rick,s "Rookie Mistake" thread, yesterday while going very slow and coming to a stop while encountering some very fine gravel, I slid the front tire and went down. Fortunately, other than busting up my left fairing, we were able to get up and go on. It now appears I may have encountered a delayed injury. About 4:30 today my right eye went very blurry and I am also seeing areas of red. I went to the local VA because I was not sure if I had had a light stroke or what. At the moment I either may have a detached retina or a Vitreous Hemorrhage. The big question I got was have I done anything to exert myself and I said yep, yesterday I picked up an 800 pound motorcycle that I dropped. So, I am to be at the eye clinic at the VA first thing in the morning for an evaluation. RandyA
  6. Hello, Everyone! I spoke with Jeff this morning and he asked me to post a Note on the Forum to let everyone know that he and Margaret and everyone else in the area are doing fine after the storm. They are without electricity, as the utility turned it off yesterday morning around 9 AM, but they do have a generator. They have no land line phone and no internet, hence the request for me to give you an update. BlackJack
  7. here are a few pics from yesterday......
  8. I saw this on another site, and it looked like fun. Since we are all riding now, and seeing all the sites. When you come across a tank, stop and get a pic of your bike with one. I was going through Redfield SD yesterday and I came across this one....
  9. Looking for a Corbin for 06RSV. Road on one yesterday and loved it.
  10. I like seeing my engine through the side covers and so I removed the vented panels. The problem is the massive amount of heat that blows on my feet and legs during the summer. I found 11" x 14" clear Lexan sheets at Home Depot for $3.49. They are the perfect size to make clear side panels. I made the panels and installed them yesterday. They work! I would show you pictures, but, you can't see the clear panels in a photo! Maybe they will get dirty . . .
  11. I know there is quite a bit of info on this, but yesterday when I was out riding for the first time this season and on my new to me 2004 RSV, it popped and backfired on deceleration. The air filter is clean and I changed the fuel filter. I think tomorrow I will sync my carbs. Anyone have any suggestions on what else I could do that might possibly stop the popping and backfiring? It isn't bad, but it is still there. Thanks in advance Chris
  12. I have a 2006 RSV with just over 12,000 miles. Purchased this last year and I'm the 3rd owner. Seems to run great and I don't have any complaints. I will admit that I'm not a gear head but can tell when something sounds different or is not right. Got the bike out 2 weeks ago and ran with no issues. Was able to get it out yesterday for a quick run. Noticed this morning that I have 2 drips from the bike. 1 from the first ride and 1 from yesterday. I looked under the bike and I see 4 hoses and I believe they are the carberator air intake. 2 of the hoses are dirty; 1 more so than the other. Have not tore into it yet as I'm hoping to get some help.
  13. Finally got my 84 VR back together, and with the 9deg C weather yesterday, headed out for a little cruise. Looking out the window today.........different story. High winds are supposed to top 100 kms/hr, the ground is white, and its around the freezing mark. On the bright side, yesterday was the earliest that I have ever taken my bike out, and it seems to be running great. Hard to beat that NS weather. Anyway, next week looks better. Thanks for reading, I was bored, and just venting.
  14. She's 5 1/2 months old now. Already trying to sit up on her own and attempting crawling. This is her supervising me, the wife and son trying to clear a fence in the back yard yesterday http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/rentalguy1/DSC00304.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/rentalguy1/DSC00311.jpg She and the basset hound love each other... http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/rentalguy1/DSC00287.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/rentalguy1/DSC00286.jpg This is how it begins... http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/rentalguy1/IMG00032-20110318-1447.jpg
  15. A first for me Yesterday. We had some crappy weather yesterday. It was the first time I have ever experienced rain, thunder, lightning, hail, and snow, all in the same day. Not to mention having blizzard warnings and flood warnings at the same time. South Dakota, dont like the weather, just wait a bit, it'll change..........Cmon spring, you can do it.........
  16. Thanks to chabicheka, I am reposting this as a new thread rather than a response to a two year old thread by E-Fishin-C: Can't believe it - it's been a couple of months since I last signed in here, so I got a whole lot of catching up to do. Anyway, I just had my last ride on my other Yamaha Venture (my snow sled) two days ago and put it to bed for the season in my shop at the cottage, not that far from Charlies. Good timing as yesterday was over 40 back here in Toronto (and warmer today), so I fired up my VR and went for a run on it yesterday. Yea - back in the saddle again and it feels good! One of my spring jobs now is to finish repainting my trailer for the VR and start planning for my trip with my wife to the west coast later this summer.
  17. Started spring training yesterday - 440 mile ride yesterday. Working up to 500+ miles a day for next month's trip to Key West. First long ride in over a year since last summer we were both laid up after a white water rafting accident. Next weekend we'll be back at training. But boy did my legs ache today after the long ride.
  18. Been here for a few days and I think we are the only english speaking people,I did here some of that funny sounding Texas stuff. I seen a 99 RSV yesterday on 192 going the other way. I wish I could of put my scoot on the plane.
  19. Rode home, 2 up, the other evening, mostly in the dark on country roads....50-55 mph, taking it easy...filled up yesterday....182mi....3.7 gal....50 mpg....usually get 42 at 70mph or so.....likin' this bike more and more...
  20. Got my vacation schedule yesterday....Taters and I are going to Iceland to visit Jonas in July........Look out Jonas and Greata, the yankees are comming......Lost 19 officers due to early retirement and didn't think I had a shot of getting the time off.....My Lt. gave me the word yesterday.....YAHOO !!!!......Hey Jonas, You have a rock for me to pee on?........ :rotf: Hey wait.... Do they have ice cream ???.. Ok, they have skyr....close enough........!!!!! (hey Jonas, I finally spelled it right)..........YAHOOO !!!!! :fnd_(16):
  21. Took a little ride in the car around Boone, NC yesterday and a little on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I couldn't go too far on the BRP as it was closed in about 5 miles in the direction I was going. It is amazing the clarity of the air in that area compared to summer time. RandyA
  22. Well the title says it all. With all of the hype about the coming great white death, gloom and doom, etc etc etc... There is less snow on the ground now than when the storm started yesterday. The 40-50mph winds are interesting though. All of my nice snow went away, those bums in MN took all of the snow for themselves and didn't leave any in the storm to share.
  23. I had yet another nice visit yesterday..Aimhigh and his lovely wife stopped by and took Debby and I out for lunch..Got to see his new GoldWing..Nice Blue color..I think he is going to put on some accessories..I got that feeling as he wasnt taking pictures of my GW,just each accessorry..The economy surely must be about to pick up..I think I will invest in Wingstuff stock. Thanks Jim and Belinda! Tom and Debby
  24. My Daughter "Hope" aka 4Paws99...... My Geological Assistant .....and.... My Great Hunter.... It seemed just like Yesterday ( and she is 25 now ..Oh How Time Flies
