  1. I picked up one of these yesterday for my shed. The size is just right to keep the bike tools and "stuff" in and the price is right at $150.00.
  2. How do you add all the stuff at the bottom of your posts. Weather, where you have ridden or maybe it is where you are wanted in any case could some one tell me please???
  3. Thanks to Jonas....we will have the "BLACK DEATH" at MD.........I'm starting to like that stuff..........
  4. Ok, going with my basic knowledge of electronic stuff of which I have er........ NONE, I would guess one of you wizards out there can fill me in. I have a gizmo that is powered by 3 AA batteries so I'm looking at 4.5 volts. See, I can figure some stuff out. I would assume, and I do love that word, that it would be possible using resistors or other unknown objects I have have no idea of that I could reduce the bikes 12 volts down to 4.5 to power this gizmo with a hardwire setup. So tell me wise ones...... what am I looking for to pull this off? Mike aka Sparky
  5. If I purchased a J&M JMCB 2003 unit can I use my sirius satalite radio with it? I see a hook up up for a mp3 player and other stuff is this also where I would plug it in? Does anyone know about this system? Joe
  6. Ok.... I don't know nutting about this one. I've had good luck bending and shaping thin aluminum sheet before but I've moved in to the heavier stuff on another project. I bought some 1/8" x 2" aluminum strap today for making some brackets. I need to put some 90 degree bends across the width of this stuff. With the 1/8" thickness am I going to be concerned about stress or cracking at the bends making that sharp of a bend? No real weight will be on the bracket after mounting but don't want to weaken it in the process. Mike
  7. The Canadian version, that is. I've heard that what we get up here is not quite the same content as the U.S. My wife and I like to watch movies now and then but I get annoyed at all the stuff the networks cut out. Except for some of the special effects filled movies, I'm quite happy to wait a few months and watch them at home on TV rather than at the theatre - that gets expensive in a hurry. I've gone to their site to check out what they have available, but there doesn't seem to be a way to bring up everything. You have to use their "browse" function which only shows a few movies in each category or use "search" which brings up a lot of stuff that doesn't seem to belong in that category. So - how do my fellow Canadians feel about Netflix? Is it worth the $8.00 per month? That sounds better than the $5.00 + the cable company wants for one movie rental. Andy
  8. Yep the white stuff is back here in the Southern Tier NY
  9. My mom is on life support and my sisters are gonna meet with the Dr Tuesday and turn it off, I need to go back home to Mass but funds are short so I am selling all my VR stuff and my bike if anyone needs something let me know and I will ship it to you.
  10. The State of SD just launched this web site: http://www.southdakotarides.com/ While I just did a quick look around, it seems to have a LOT of information for those who plan to visit up here. It has some interactive maps, web cams, and other stuff on it. If anyone does get up here, let me know if you want to go to the best DQ I have found, right here in Madison!!!! Stay Safe, Dave
  11. Had nothing to do and while I was surfing ebay I typed in Stuff in the search column, just to see what came up. Seems that there is over 700 pages of stuff available. Wonder what would come up if I typed in crap?
  12. I am finallizing my checklist for my trip and wanted to get a Radar detector. Is anyone using one that you might recommend? Its been a long time since i have used one. We didnt have laser and the new stuff when i last owned one. Any recommendations? Thanks Al
  13. Hi, fellas. If you followed up on my last post, you know that I dragged home another project. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65645 Now here is my question: Did Yamaha use a special break-in oil, or should I just dump in whatever I plan to run in the future? I like synthetic, since these things don't leak, but with less than 100 miles, I'm afraid the break-in period will be affected by the extra slipperiness of the synthetic stuff. Maybe some plain ol' dino oil for the first couple changes, then synth? Oh, yeah... Here's a pic. Not a great shot, but you get the idea. Once again, thank you for your time and wisdom. Bert
  14. Sometimes I wonder if sellers on Fleabay play with a full deck!!! Some of the first class CRAP that dealers try to pawn off just amazes me! Also, some dealers want to become millionaires overnight when they have a decent item but want waaaaaay too much for their merchandise! The frightening part is there are people out there WILLING to pay for both kinds of stuff!! Not saying that there are still deals out there, I still find a few, but it seems like things are getting out of hand! I can remember times when you would click on the ebay link and find 400 items if you were lucky, but now there are a minimum of over 10000!! What's up with that?!!?
  15. I need to replace the chain and sprockets on my daughters bike and I know nothing about either. What are some decent manufactures I can look at. Not looking for top of the line stuff just something that will hold up. Her bike is an '05 Suzuki GS500E.
  16. Big Motorcycle swap meet today in Novi. Five of us are going. Same building as International Show. I have a shop full of stuff for the new bike but Im looking for just a few dozen more things .
  17. This was on the new's today buy stolen property and it's legal. www.propertyroom.com Some good stuff. Joe
  18. Here is the stuff I was talking about. Mike

  21. Well I got the call from HQ they offed me a SSGT position and I accepted the job so i will be leaving again this summer for Afghanistan. What I wanted to do is sale my bike and when I return get another full dresser, But I want to offer it to ya first. Im not real sure on the what i want for it and I cant put a dollar amount on the bike because of the good times we had together but it does need some work. I have the stuff to get it done just no time with the getting ready and spending time with the wife and the girls.Along with that I have a Honda 79cx500c that im going to sale too. I hope to get pictures up in the next month so I can get things going.
  22. Guess what we got.....:snow2::snow2: about 10" of the stuff.
  23. I have noticed that we have LOTS of visitors...Welcome!! For those of you visiting, this site is an awesome place to get information about your bike and share others experience with their bikes. The information about anything and everything from accessories, where to get em, maintenance and how to do it, paint, pictures and just general bike talk can be found here. I visited this site many times to get help with maintenance stuff and a big Thank You to the guys like Condor, Freebird and Goose to name a few who have taken the time to explain stuff to newbies or guys that just want to avoid taking their bikes to a dealer or shop do get some very expensive repairs that they could easily do themselves. To take full advantage of the site only costs you $12 bucks for a whole year, I made that up on the first part I bought and membership allows you to see the pictures the guys posts that have worked on the same parts. I changed the needle valves on my 96 RSTC and the parts from a dealer and many online stores were about $36 apiece. Using this site as a resource I purchased them online from OBB in a 5 pack for the same as it costs for one! My reason for posting this is not only to thank the guys that spend their time posting to help others but to keep a great site going strong! Become a member! Remember there is strength in numbers and in brotherhood! Great Riding!

:smash2: Most of you know I don't do computers!! The Warden takes care of all that. I have had this site on MSN Explorer since day one. Along with all my favorites for bike sites, bike parts and everything. Where the He** did MSN Explorer go? I'm acessing this site thru the Warden's stuff today. Can't get into any of my stuff. She told me a long time ago that I needed to get rid of MSN Explorer. Did I loose all my stuff? I can't connect to MSN at all. Warden says it is a connectivity problem??We have Frontier DSL can connect to IE We have windows XP. Help???Warden claims some of her updates will not update her (net framework) whatever that is. Everything I had on here was saved to MSN Favorites. If I could pull my Favorites out someway I could put them somewhere.:smash2::smash2: Blasted Junk!!
  25. Inquiring minds want to know?! I have a 1/32 scale Ninco digital slot car layout with 82.5 feet of twisties & straights that I just got back up running after a 2.5 year busy break from it. Tomorrow I'll be tuning up my 70 chipped cars so they will run good again after sitting for 2.5 years. It will run up to 8 cars at a time on a 2 lane track with lane changers you can actuate for your car from your controller. Very cool racing action! My layout has a lot of little "scenes" with exotic cars, vintage motorcycles, a gnarly biker gang, a winners circle, etc... I guess I'm really into cars since I also have a 1/43 (mostly), 1/24, & 1/18 scales metal die-cast car, bus, truck, 4WD, motorcycle...collection with 350+ vehicles. I've been trying to break into the model railroading scene. About 3 years ago I bought most everything I need to make an HO layout with enough engines & rolling stock for about 8 complete trains. At this point I'm seriously considering trying to turn my HO stuff into N scale stuff & doing an N scale layout (room/size constraints in my house). Anyways, these are some of my hobbies. Is anyone else out there into any of this stuff too? Doug Nordin
