  2. Trying to get more members involved. In the Savager Hunt in the Fun and Frivolous Forum the current target is: USA: You, Your Bike and a Bar with a Budweiser sign or banner on it. Canada: You, Your Bike and a Bar with a Labatts sign or banner on it. What Country will win?
  3. I need a head count by Thursday for the cruise on Saturday. I need to provide the cruise company the number of seats to reserve. Please sign up by Thursday morning, if you are coming to the M & E, so that I can order the food for the meal after the cruise. I hope to see all of you there! Thanks Jim
  4. I've had a lot of members calling me and telling me that they are comming to my rally this year and that is great...but, members are not signing up on the calendar...if you are attending or think you are attending , please sign up so I can get a more accurate food count.. I hate to run out of food or drinks.....also, if you are attending the train ride on Sunday please let us know so that we can get a group rate and reserve seats....Last year we had about seventy attend...this year we have only 25 or so sign up...I know this number is way off....please help me make this event another success as in past years by signing up if you plan to attend....thanks everyone....
  5. My wife and I had a real different experince on a recent trip down I 94 each and every rest stop sign eg: next reststop 45miles and when we got up to the reststop there was a big sign saying it was closed, as we got further down the road the next one was 85 miles, but when we got to it the same sign saying reststop closed, this was on the July 4th weekend and our Canadian July 1st long weekend ! I do feel that there should have been signs stating that all of the reststops along the interstate were closed. Most travelers would not be aware of this and as many may have to use the toilet it would present a great problem.we went from I 29 at Fargo ND to Maple Grove MN, and each and every one was closed, we caught a newscast and they where saying it was because of the govt cutbacks, and no roadworks, and other cutbacks! As a male I don't have the same problem that a senior or a lady or a family with kids would have. So now you know be prepared ! ! I have a question is this happening in any other states ? ? from: ( MOBILE ) Winnipeg MB. Canada
  6. Well the time has come I am looking at this sat the 2nd of july for my saddlesore ride. I will be leaving Traverse City Mi by 5 am and should reach Crittendon Ky around 2 pm where I will be turning around and heading back to TC. My question, is there anyone around that area that could meet me at the gas station and sign my paperwork for my turn a round witness. It should be about 2 figure I could text whoever from my last stop to give you about a 2 hour notice. Please let me know asap and thanks in advance
  7. Belinda officially retired today! Going to be great to have her around the house 24/7!
  8. Took the bike in and had it serviced and a new Dun-lop E-3 put on the rear. It was done and, well, it was sunny, and hardly any wind, and, well I called in and took a day of vacation, and well, went riding! I went through 2 tanks of gas for a total of 452 miles. (Most I was able to get in was 4.87 gal at 231 miles, hit reserve at 201, I think, darn gauge resets and does it's count down.) Went no particular place, for no particular reason. Just me and the bike........... WOW, WHAT FUN I HAD!!! :sign woo hoo: :sign woo hoo: Sorry had to,,, rub it in,,, I mean ,, um ,, vent. Yeah that's it, VENT! Bryan
  9. Best [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2D5VguHR1w&feature=player_detailpage]stop sign fail [/ame]I've seen in a long time. Bryan

  12. Only about 165 people signed up for Freebird's Maintenance Day. Heck folks, we had about 250 last year. It's getting close now so please go to the calendar and sign up if you are coming. I want to make sure that I order enough food. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=220&day=2011-6-4&c=1
  13. I just noticed we have our first three Hawaiian members, all three joined this month. E komo mai. Nou ka hale Gary
  14. It was suggested that I post a new thread about the Quaker Steak & Lube dinner on June 3rd, 2011. This is the evening before the "official" MD date at Freebird's home in Oberlin , Ohio. There is a calender event at the following link. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=265&day=2011-6-3&c=1 Signing up for this is totally optional, if you don't sign up you can still go, and if you do sign up, there is no problem not going. It just gives me an idea on how many are going to be there so I can keep the restaurant informed. Also a post from Don related to that weekend at link below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58678 Gary
  15. Just received an E-mail from Bluese that she has sold her scoot. She will be missed by all who had the opportunity to meet her. Who else would let everyone at a Pork in the Pines sign their seat?
  16. I have an '03 Olds Silhouette and tried to sign up for the contest. Well I learned that I have an analog signal and you need a digital signal to sign up. I have done some research and onstar says it can't be done DIY. From some other research this is basically b.s. There are some DIYers that have done the upgrade themselves. It seems the only reason why they are saying this is so they can get some big $$$ for it. When this whole thing started Onstar wanted 3 yrs of service. Now they want just one, but the problem is total cost is $315 to have the upgrade done. That doesn't include what I am sure dealer would charge for labor and taxes. I am not going to spend that kinda dough for this. I should be able to do this upgrade w/out having to sign up for anything w/ Onstar. I should be able to have the option to be able to sign up in the future if I want to w/out having to sign up right now just to do this upgrade. Besides the contest if anything else say me or my wife are in an accident, I can't push the emergency button to get help. They way it is now, Onstar is taking that option out unless you want to drop some major $$$ My question is any GM mechanics know how to do the upgrade? Anyone else done it themselves? How hard is it? Instructions? How to get the parts (I think it just involves a module and antenna)? Anything I am missing?
  17. ............so that Annie and Quickstep will know who ya are at M.D. and at the International Rally: ANNIE IS MAKING NAME BADGES I will go by the RSVP lists that are running for both events :dancefool:
  18. OK, OK, first I haven't got to ride since last part of October 2010 due to weather, work, funerals etc. Well today even with bronchitis I have had for the past lousy week now, coughing, hard breathing and all. Turned the key on and off three times till it quit clicking and I am not sure it even turned over 2 revolutions and VAROOOOM!!!!!! Yah, Yah I checked all the fluids, air, wheels and all the little stuff before hand. Took it to the car wash to get all the winter dust off her. (Note to self, find out why there is even dust in a closed garage.) Anyway I got home and Lisa had her boots on with a big smile on her face. What do I do? :lightbulb:Well I can't disappoint her so Lisa & I went for a ride!!!! Been driving the truck to work and hunting and about everywhere else and the roads around here did not winter well. We took off and I swear the roads were like glass! It was so smooooooooth we both couldn't believe it! (Smile) She says I done good getting this bike, she loves it! Got home about dark grilled some steak and life is good again! WARM WEATHER, WELCOME BACK!!!! :sign woo hoo: Oh and did I mention :sign woo hoo: !!! Bryan

  23. This sign is directed at me. Even though I am not speeding, someone thinks I am and went to the trouble to cause attention to when I leave the subdivision. I am very considerate of my neighbors, but I guess you can not please everyone.....Ron
