  1. Am I the only one get the Itch for 9/10/2008 to get here. It is a hard wait now knowing I get to see people I really like spending time with, good food, good riding and seeing deer in the back yard. It seem like it is never going to get here. See everyone there and hope to meet new rides also. ride safe. :clap2:
  2. Just a few pics of the ride we took in celebration of America's Birthday ! http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/kk364/rsvangel/July%204th%20Ride%202008/HPIM0756.jpg http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/kk364/rsvangel/July%204th%20Ride%202008/HPIM0788.jpg http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/kk364/rsvangel/July%204th%20Ride%202008/HPIM0780.jpg http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/kk364/rsvangel/July%204th%20Ride%202008/HPIM0800.jpg ] http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/kk364/rsvangel/July%204th%20Ride%202008/HPIM0804.jpg It was fun, crossing the Cherohalla, then in Robbinsville we went to a Festival! 3. I know many of you are going on various trips this 4th weekend. Beer, Muffy, and all those heading to various meets and vacations: You all have a safe and great trip.
  4. ...are climbing aboard the Black Beast and heading west early tomorrow morning. I wish we were able to head north to the Venturerider's Rally, but the lure of the Grand Canyon won out. We will be thinking of everyone as we travel and look at the sights. The only regret that I will have this week is not getting to see the disapointed faces when my winning ticket for the trailer is drawn. :stirthepot: Our prayers are with everyone that is traveling this week. I pray that we all have a safe trip and return to our families safe and healthy. When we return I'm sure we will have a couple of hundred pics to post. Everyone be safe. Steve and Donna Stewart
  5. I just ordered one and would like to know what a relatively safe rev limit would be to set it at. Ron:scubadive:

  8. Here is a non tech poor man question. Anyone have any experience with a dog on board? I see there are carriers commercially available but MAN the prices! Must be all the lawyering thats needed to bring these to market! Background, a lab puppy recently joined our family and she seems willing, but I'd like her to be safe, well as safe as you can be on a m/c. Whats the best solution here? Thanks, Brian H.

  11. Hey, checking air in tires yesturday and just above the rim on Rear Tire all around it, there are cracks. Wide enough to put a finger nail in and some as long as 4". Last year I put on these Avons (Great Tires) and have 8000 miles. Tread is still excellent, but these cracks have me greatly conserned as I am supposed to leave tommorow on a trip for three weeks. Just wondering has anyone else had this problem and Are They Safe? Is this a Tire Defect? Thanks-

  17. since the south texas pgr ride capt, already made this public info. i guess it can't hurt to explain here, what has happened. my brother Ron,(rattlesnake), lost all of his worldly possessions, Tuesday night/wed morning, in a house fire.he and all his family, are safe and sound, thanks to the most generous, and caring townspeople in the world. the power company's wiring, coming into the house, shorted out and started the fire. firemen /neighbors, were on the scene, within 10 minutes, but couldn't put any water on the house, because of the live wires jumping and popping. ONE HOUR after the first of THREE phone calls, a serviceman, finally arrived and killed the power at the transformer. by then, it was too late. fifteen water hoses, couldn't save the house. like i already said, he has NO urgent needs, at this time, however a prayer or two might be useful, if you have any to spare. thanks for listening. just jt p.s. i forgot to mention , all his vehicles and bikes were move to a safe distance, thanks to ron's riding buddy raul! jt.
  18. I wish all of you a very happy and safe riding new year from up here ,Québec , Canada
  19. hEY GUYS MADDOG AND MY LITTLE PUPPEE WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL IN VENTURERIDERS A SAFE AND MERRY XMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM DOWN UNDER.
  20. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of the members of this website that I know Personally and all that I have yet to meet. With the comercialization of the season lets not forget what this holiday is all about. I am looking forward to the comming year and all the possibilities that it holds for all of us. I would like for each and every one of you to say a special prayer for the members we have lost as well as all the non members that have been taken away from what we love to do. Lets not forget the Families left behind after all they are the ones that are hurting the most from the loss of a loved one. I think about all of the fallen members of this site every day and pray that their families have the stength to carry on. In the last 3 years we have had some of our VR Family members taken from us and some that have had near misses. All that I can figure from the near misses is that they are a wake up call for those members for one reason or another. But I believe we can all learn from each others lessons. Lets all stay safe and have a Healthy and Happy 2008 Please. Lets not forget the members of this site that need our prayers for strength to battle health issues. And the members serving overseas. Ride Safe and have a Great Holiday Season with your families. Jeff

  24. I just received the following email. I very much appreciated being contacted and I have called Kat and told her that I am very interested and would post the email in case any of the rest of our members may be close to this area and wish to participate. I will post more in regard to dates, meeting places and etc. when I receive her email with that information. "I am the program assistant with the Holmes and Wayne Counties Safe Communities programs in Northeastern Ohio. I just want to send my sincere sympathy in regard to your friends. Through the Safe Communities coaltion we try to reduce traffic fatalties by educating drivers to become more aware of things around them. Unfortunately, for as much as we try to do to prevent crashes from happening, it takes a tragedy to really get peoples attention. As part of this years program we will be working more on motorcycle education. Are you a local group? If so, would you be interested and willing to attend a Safe Communities coalition meeting? Any involvement we can get with organized riding clubs would be so helpful. I can be reached by email or at the Holmes County Health Dept (Millersburg, Ohio) at 1-877-674-5035 ext 258. Thank You!!"
