  1. Hello to all, Am looking for the availability of saddlebag and trunk liners for my friend's 2007 Royal Star Venture. I saw posts (and sites) for TLC and Yamaha, then saw posts from the guy called Beer30, and want to see what he has available at this time, maybe some pictures of them, etc. I was not able to find a site for him, so I became a member so I could post (I ride an 85 BMW K100RT). If Beer30 reads this (and is still making liners) please let me know how I can contact you... Speaking of which: it's beer o'clock right now! Keep the shiny side up! John
  2. I recently purchased a saddlebag on Ebay but the seller was selling 2 at the same time. I have the wrong one here and the one I won is in Washington. I'm just wondering if its anyone who belongs to this group? Thanks Keith
  3. Alright...i'm having a problem and need some advice....I recently lubricated all the hinges and moving parts on my saddlebags...NOW, my right saddlebag will latch closed BUT after riding for a few minutes it pops open. I was able to duplicate this by hitting the bottom of the bag a few times and i can easily get the latch to pop. I have taken it apart and put it back together. Everything was tight and it is still doing it. I have not seen anyway of making the latches tighter and i'm in need of some help. This didnt happen before i lubed them so im thinking the lube has to wear off but im hoping someone has an idea...
  4. Need some help guys, I am looking for the flag poles that mount to the Saddlebag wrap around rails for hte RSTD and Venture. THANKS!
  5. When I got home yesterday I realized my left saddlebag lid had fallen off! I retraced my steps but so far it looks like it made a clean getaway. Does anyone know where a used saddlebag lid could be found for my 1989 Venture Royale?
  6. What the heck could have caused this? I am guessing someone hit it. The saddlebag guards are not damaged. Wife thought it might be stress from towing the trailer. I have towed it 3-4 times. 1st time for a couple hours. The other times were pretty much 30-45 speeds 55 or less. So not really sure that could have done it but never know. It is cracked all the way through starting top right and going towards bottom left almost all the way to the bottom. And the other question. How to fix? Can I use some epoxy on the inside as a temporary fix?
  7. Since managing to lose the lid on the right bag I am on the hunt for a replacement. Though the bag itself is fine I figure the best way to search this is to see if anyone has a right side plastic molded saddlebag for a '98 RSTD. Am searching other sites however always start with the best. Thanks, Norm
  8. 08 rsv rear latch on left side saddlebag is hard to latch pushing hard seems to work is there any adjustment? thanks steve
  9. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. On my right saddlebag the screws that hold the hinge mount plate to the bottom of the bag (see attached pics) are failing. The screws screw into the molded plastic and the plastic is disintegrating. To me it looks like they were overtightened at the factory. I just notice this a few monthes back. The left bag has no issues. I have been very careful not to overload or overpack the bags. I will be talking to my dealer about warranty and want to make sure I have as much info as possible. Comments appreciated. Thanks JR
  10. SO one of the spacers is missing (the bolt kindly stayed in the trunk) that stands the saddlebag off the frame... Anyone have a good replacement suggestion other than ordering one from the (notoriously slow and expensive) Yammy Parts Shop?? Can I get something similar at a local hardware store?
  11. Anyone have these installed? Could you post pictures is so? How do they install? How long did it take, etc. I would like to get a set but would like to see them on a member's bike as opposed to the Diamond R site's pics! Thanks! http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=RSV/RSTD LED Saddlebag Light Bar
  12. A friend and I just bought saddlebag rails for our 2nd Gen Ventures. After installing them they were raised up in the back outside corner as most are. We could fix them by drilling holes in the saddlebag rail just outside the whole that mounts to the rear fender as was done by the previous owner on my 2000MM or I could drill a hole in the fender mount as described in the tech article on this forum. However being an old sheet metal worker I figured all I needed to do was to rotate the flattened end that mounts to the fender. If you clamp the flattened end into a vise you gently pull the the outside back end (the end you want adjusted) in the direction that you want to go. Be careful a little goes a long way. If you adjust to much you run the risk of over bending and will have to bend it back a little or I guess it would be possible to crack the chrome plating although I think you have to twist it quit a bit. Ralph and I did his and my saddlebag rails this way and moved them from just about touching the rear turn signal lights to about 1 1/2"'s from the turn signals. The great part about this is you don't have to drill a hole in anything.
  13. Has anyone fitted the Genuine Yamaha Saddlebag Lid Trim Rails ( Item STR1D6725000 ) to their bikes. I'd be interested in seeing some photos to see what they look like
  14. OK...I bought my brand new Venture on December 11th, 2009. I have worked on it all winter, and I have to tell you that I think I am DONE. That's right, I think I am done with it except for riding it. Since I bought the bike, I have added the following (and mods). Trunk Luggage Rack Lowering Links and Damper Mod Audio Wiring Mod (for Garmin Zumo 660) 1 1/2" Risers Stebel Horn Temp and Clock Gauges (clocks4bikes.com) TLC Liner Bags for Trunk and Saddlebags Garage Door Opener (ignition cowling) Mod Stealth Key Mod Butler Butt Mod Butler Seat Mod Butler Saddlebag Nuts Yamaha Luggage Rack Bag (Brand new and will be selling this). Kuryakyn 4142 Roll Bag (why I am selling the Yamaha bag) Grifter Storage License Plate Holder (very handy!) Scorpion Helmets (2) with Edset's Comm Package So, that's about it. Yes, I still have a pending Lightbar install (waiting on mounting brackets), but having seconds thoughts on those... The ONLY other items I can think of are Saddlebag Rails and maybe highway pegs...UNLESS someone fabricates a VIABLE and EASY REPLACEMENT for the cassette deck. What ELSE is there?
  15. :happy65:Has anyone found a good trunk lid oganizer for the RSV. I have seen some for Goldwings that also had saddlebag lid organizers. Please let me know. Thank you.
  16. Anybody out there have any saddlebag lid trim rails they want to get rid of? Used is fine if the chrome is still good. I need ones that will fit my 06 RSTD . . . although I think the lid trim is exactly the same for the RSV and RSTD. Part number is STR-1D672-50-00. Please give me a shout and how many razbucks you'd be looking for if they are available. Thanks ps I've already added the side saddlebag trim rails . . . they're just not in this picture.
  17. Hi, I have been looking in vain for a set of saddlebag liners for my 84 VR.. Can't find anything that would fit and my sewing ability is NOT going to allow me to make any..I have found a few old posts and pm'd Beer 30 , but have not heard anything.... Any ideas or thoughts....Love to have a set for our summer trip to CO Clay
  18. Does anyone have any experience with these Saddlebag Liners? They looks pretty nice and the price is great. I wanted to get some opinions before I spent my birthday money on them. They offer free embroidery also, but you can't return them after having them personalized. Thanks for the input in advance! http://www.tlcproducts.com/servlet/Detail?no=24 http://www.tlcproducts.com/catalog/ed_1_sbl_24_1.JPG http://www.tlcproducts.com/catalog/rst.jpg Ben
  19. I have a white and tan (I don't know the color names.) 1988 Royale and need the chrome "bumper", turn signal, and lower saddlebag for the right side. This is basically the saddlebag assembly less the top as I have that in good condition still. If anyone has these parts and would like to sell them please let me know the details. I have seen the turn signals on ebay but have not seen the saddlebag in the tan (light brown) color from '88. I do not want to have to paint the parts, just put them on. Just lazy I guess... Thanks! Don
  20. We took a little ride last Saturday and as we were coming to a stop at an intersection the Honda VTX behind us failed to stop and at slow speed nailed our right saddlebag. The results were that the right side chrome "bumper" and turn signal were destroyed and the saddlebag lower was dented and distorted. Fortunately no one was injured and the damage was pretty light. I have a white and tan (I don't know the color names.) 1988 Royale and now need the chrome "bumper", turn signal, and lower saddlebag for the right side. 21. Does anyone else find that the saddlebag rails for the RSV/RSTD rust easily, especially around the welds and the rounded curvers? I now have my second set on the bike. Both sets rusted to the point where they look terrible. Any fixes/preventions I'm not aware of? Anyone else have this problem? If I can't get it resolved, I'm just going to take them off, and leave them off. Thanks, Don from PA.
  22. Somehow I broke and lost the Bolt and both sides of the connectors that attach to the the rear guards. I have Yamaha saddlebag rails and it is the right side that broke. I will pay plus shipping if anyone can help. Thanks perch
  23. Anybody else have a large gap between their saddlebad lid and the saddlebag? My left one does not close tight in the rear back part. I can't see how to adjust it. Any experience with this problem?
  24. Anyone have a right side saddlebag lid for sale? I have a friend who has a 86 or 87 venture and he is missing the right side saddlebag lid. It is a very dark brown color. Let me know if you have one. Thanks, Eric
  25. I was wondering if anyone has tried these? They are leather cargo pockets that attach to the front of the saddlebag rails? http://saddlebagsbytalisman.com
