  1. Just wanted to chime in, I have noticed a lil poping on decel and the engine seemed a lil rough at cruising speed. After reading several post I was thinking time to check the carb sync, called my local STEALER who wants $85 to sync them up (freaking nuts). After watching on this site I saw a post about the price of the morgan carbtune pro being lower due to the exchange rate so I pulled the trigger and got the carbtune pro with case for 93 otd. Rocket fast shipping 8 days to northern michigan, then came my problem. I have always said I am a jack of all trades master of none lol and have done my share of wrenching but when it comes to something new I always get a lil nervous. I have to say this site is so beyond worth the 12 bucks with all the write ups and pictures it was actually a breeze. I took my time, made several adjustments and got them just about perfect, should have took pictures but camera was dead, man what a difference!!! Now I guess this is a big thank you message and a question, does $85 sound right to have a dealer do this? I mean even with a miller lite break it didnt take more than 40 mins so just wondering if they were trying to bend me over. And as far as the thank yous that is for everyone on this site and to Don just have to say you have created so much more than just a website here, I would have been lost and paying for what was a fairly simple job. I will be a member here till the end!!!! Well enough rambling just had to say how happy i was to find this site!!
  2. After loosing 55 pounds so far, I am finding it a lot easier to jump up on the seat and stand up(Yammer, if you try this, don't take pictures). As I get better at it, maybe I will take the bike off the center stand, not! These pictures were taken in front of a beautiful wall mural in Burnsville, NC as part of a great ride yesterday. RandyA
  3. I purchase the mic-mute and should get it sometimes next week. Can anyone tell me how big of a job it is to install? And did anyone took pictures of the installation? Gaetan

  6. Ok guys, first off my search-fu is weak. While there are multiple threads about removing the stock windshield (i'd like to get a blacked out 10" one for the summer months) I can't seem to find a step by step instruction on it. Would someone please point me in the right direction to an appropriate post, hopefully with pictures? Thanks in advance! Csogbk

  12. I found out about this story when I was in Utah for my Moms funeral. The guy scammed a lot of people and is getting everything that he deserves. BUT can you imagine owning all these cars. By the way, there is a venture there so it is related (sort-of) I really like the classic cars, but there are some beautiful bikes and the first gen looks like it is in good shape too. Anyone have some serious cash to spend on some new toys? Go to the pictures next to the story. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=10046613
  13. OK. now i will once again try to post pictures of my 86 venture from russ, after the paint..

  15. I'm sure that some of you bikers HAVE to be ex hippies. I'm curious which ones, the 60's is my favorite era, i love the feel, and the emotion of the time. Pictures would be cool, or just comments, on you or your hippie friends. Peace CJ
  16. First a question. In the pictures there are two plugs shown, a white one and a green one. the green one is from the clutch switch but i cant find where it goes, any ideas? The white one is a mystery...??? it has two black/white wires and a black/yellow and a blue/yellow wire. two of the pictures show a white plug that plugs into something on the middle of the rail. that relay is missing, what is it? the frame is from the 83 and dosent look the same as the 86 but the relays and harness is from the 86. all wiring from the 83 has been removed and replaced with an 86 harness. hand controls and all.
  17. Since I could not load the bikini side panel pictures on your PM, I will try it here. I cut the bottom section to the length I wanted and then used a heat gun to soften the plastic to bring it to a point. I then used Devcon Plastic Weld to fill and very little body filler to smooth it out. I also narrowed the top section some to make it blend with the fairing better. I hope this helps some. RandyA

  20. I think this has been discussed here before, I have been noticing over the years that my clear-coat on my tank is starting to scratch a little and I was wondering were some of you are placing the holder that was on the tank for your head-seat plug in might be now> If moved? . any pictures would be great. not sure if there is a better location for this or maybe another idea? my cord when plugged in seems to be the problem. (rubbing in that area) all the time. Thanks, Jeff
  21. I need a picture of the heel toe shift lever and how it mounts with the floor boards installed. Also how the Brake lever looks with the board installed. The bike must have floor boards on it and not the stock pegs. I have both levers but no mounting plates so that is why I need pictures of each so I can mount them on my trike with some idea of how it is to look. Thanks in advance Bikenut
  22. Need pictures and instructions if anyone has them.Thanks.
  23. Ruthy and I just got back from a vacation in Mazatlan Mexico. Thought I would share some pictures. [ame=http://www.flickr.com/photos/71257533@N00/sets/72157623310925875/show/]Mazatlan 2010@@AMEPARAM@@offsite=true&lang=en-us&page_show_url=%2Fphotos%2F71257533%40N00%2Fsets%2F72157623310925875%2Fshow%2F&page_show_back_url=%2Fphotos%2F71257533%40N00%2Fsets%2F72157623310925875%2F&set_id=72157623310925875&jump_to=@@AMEPARAM@@en-us@@AMEPARAM@@%2Fphotos%2F71257533%40N00%2Fsets%2F72157623310925875%2Fshow%2F&page_show_back_url=%2Fphotos%2F71257533%40N00%2Fsets%2F72157623310925875%2F&set_id=72157623310925875&jump_to=[/ame] Oh how I wished I could have had the bike down there with me!
  24. I am cheap so I tried to find a cheap way to add lights to the rear of my Venture. I found this 2001 Venture with 4,550 mikes on it and bought it for $5,300. It was completely stock. I added a rear luggage rack for $50 and saddlebag rails for $81 and the Harley pipes for $30. Now for the lights. They are LED's and the pictures where taken in bright daylight. I know they are a little dim but I chose to add a circuit that cut the brightness in half so that I could use them as running/brake instead of just running or just brake lights. The two lights on each side of the tail light really show up good at night and the two LED light strips coat me $5.18 and that included shipping and handling. The circuit to make them running/brake cost me $4.99 and shipping another $3.99. The light under the trunk is not wired running/brake but just a brake light (my choice). It cost me $1 plus $1.59 shipping. Through in another couple bucks or the two sided tape (exterior grade) and wire. So all the LED's cost me around $15 bucks. Here are the pictures (I know how you like pictures).
  25. Somewhere around the end of last summer, someone posted a link to a story a young rider wrote and documented with LOTS of pictures of a trip he took on his bike from down south all the way across the country on his old small crummy bike. (It was small, like an old 500) for the life of me I can't find it or a link to it now. All I can remember were the pictures of his old bike with the fenders tied on with wire, the engine oil running out everywhere, and the story he told of sleeping on the ground next to it. Anyone remember it?
