don mentioned to me at the 09 rally, that he would like to do a meet at the hub next year. well i'm chompin at the bit already. it won't be an international rally. some one else can do that. it will be a 4 day get together. no raffles, no prizes, no registration fee, no catered meal, no shirts or patches, no planned rides, just a barbeque one night, and a good old let your hair down and relax meet, at a little cooler time. since don is on vacation at vogel right now i thought i would mention this to see how many folks would like to see this happen. we had so much fun and commaraderie this year and the hub is a wonderful place for a big meet. how many of you folks would be interested in attending? just curious.

My wife and I are leaving for Vogel on Wed morning from Lexington via I75 through KY and TN. Anyone headed south that would like to meet up and travel together? We'll probably leave Lexington around 8:00 AM. Dennis

Just wanted to give yall a big ... being at this rally has really made me feel what a family this is. I felt it on my first in Eureka Springs, then again in Fort Collins...and this time at the HUB. Everyone treated me as a family member even though I don't ride at this time. This is the most wonderful family anyone could want to be a part of. The friendships that are started online are family for sure when ya meet face to face. You talk to people like ya known them for years. Thank you Don for this site and thanks to all the committee members for this rally, You guys did a FANTASTIC JOB. :thumbsup2::clap2:

Hey Cinderella and Wrongway and everyone else thinking of Lamberts on their way to the 2009 Rally- Are you still planning to meet up at Lamberts for lunch on Sunday? As you know NEWTrk and I can't be at the Hub this year thanks to our daughter making wedding plans and expecting us to be there, but thought that we could meet up with you at Lamberts on Sunday if it's still in your plans. Let us know if you are still planning of the 12:30 - 1PM timeframe and we'll see you there. BTW we also have some raffle prizes to donate and this would save us the cost of mailing them.

well folks i'm starting to think about my meet next year. this was the last year for my meet and eat in st. charles. i think folks are burning out on it, and need something new and different. i know i do. trying to decide on a neat location. i am only going to do one next year. i already offered to don do the 2010 rally. if he would like me to do it i would be honered. if not i am going to put one on. it will either be in montgomery city, mo. or eureka springs. i am leaning toward montgomery city. lots of great riding in that area. all country with a-one facilities. after the hub meet you may tar and feather me. already got the wheels turning for next year.

I have taken my trailer on the "Summer 09 Tour" and I am proud to say it has been a success so far. The trailer, "Rosemary", has tacked the Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, Pennsylvania rural area, winds of Lake Erie, the rough roads of Buffalo, and she is negotiating New England over these next couple days! Her proudest moment was reaching elevation 6578, at the top at Mt. Mitchell in North Carolina. Her locomotive, "Rachel (05 RSTD), has had no problems pulling her averaging anywhere from 38mpg to 43mpg depending on the terrain, speed, and wind conditions. She does not know she pulling anything unless we hit a bump! The setup gets a lot of comments and picture taking from people we meet! I have pointed everyone in the direction of "VentureRider.org" telling them this is the place where I brainstormed, researched, and got sound advice on the while renovating her and overcoming the initial design flaws. Later this week we will be adventuring in Nova Scotia, Northern Maine, and the Canada. After that I thought we would head west and try out some more mountains!! Thanks all!!

What a great time...thank you ,thank you, thank you..that is for all of you who took the time to participate in the meet and eat..we had 32 members and guest who showed up at one time or another fot the activities...It was super to meet some new family members for the first time..GS51 ,SKYDOC, MIKE AND TINA MIDNIGHT, ADVENTURER, RIDGEWAY, YAMIMAN TO NAME JUST A FEW....Thanks to the regulars BONGOBOB ,SPANKYM, CAPTAIN, HARLEYMAN, HOFFY,AND JGOROM... PP&J.. It was great seeing you again and your son...and for bringing N.Y.GERRY..It was so much fun ...special thanks to terry,michella and chad from PIONEER MOTORSPORTS for allowing us to camp and take over your store for the day..and for the gifts and prizes you donated for our bike show....HEY IT WASN'T FIXED....SILVER IS THE BEST COLOR..OK ....2ND BEST...LOL..... THE FOOD WAS GOOD, THE ICE CREAM WAS GREAT AND THE COMPANY WAS THE GREATEST....Taters has a headache this morning...wonder whats thats from....GRAPES MAYBE??? How you feeling Becky? these two gals can burn a mean marshmallow with the help of our own pyro (TINA midnight) thank you all for attending...this will take place again next year..and will be even better.. again thank you all...:clap2:

Gs51 and myself left from South Central Pa. at 8:00AM headed to Chaffee, NY for Big Tom's meet and eat. Soon after we left, it started to rain, and rain, and rain some more! We finally got to Pioneer Motorsports around 3PM, wet tired and hungry. By 4PM the rain had followed us to Pioneer Motorsports. Big Tom very graceiously offered to let us spend the night in his very nice, DRY home. While at his home Big Tom showed us his famous "Blonde Cyote" (NO, NOT Taters'!) Hopefully, tomorrow's weather will be some what drier. Earl

well, we have every thing set for the 09 rally at the hub. t-shirt deadline is past, all planning is done, i'm sure by now everyone that is coming knows who they are. so we are not going to bug you any more. black owl told me at the beginning of the planning don't let the folks forget, and we definately did'nt let you forget. we worked hard on this one and i think it is going to be a winner. my committee did a great job, i picked some winners. now it's all over but the fun. and we are definately going to have alot of fun. you can still register in advance or when you arrive, or you don't have to register at all. no matter how you do it we are looking forward to meeting you all. we have one heck of a meet planned with lots of stuff going on, and some of the worlds best riding. this is a must do meet if you are a real biker. see you there. bill

Please check your calanders for my first meet and eat...free camping available..It is listed in the meet and eats section and also on the calander..PIONEER MOTORSPORTS is working with me on this endevor ..hope to see you all there...need you to post if you are planning to camp ...

want to thank everyone that is donating prizes for the 09 rally. keep them coming. we want every one to win something. i really want to thank aussie annie for taking such a great interest in our group and going above and beyond the call sending prizes from australia. if i was rich i would pay to have her and mr. annie to be here to meet the fine folks that are venture riders. we love you annie. i will make it up to you some how. bill :clap2:

i know your all tired of me bugging you about registrations for the 09 rally, so this will be my last shot at it. we really need your responce as soon as possible. the rally is just a little over a month off. cindy has alot of things going on besides the rally and it would be a big help to her if she does'nt have everything pile up on her at the last minute. we have really worked hard to put this rally together for you all. i hope we have a really big turnout. i am totally wore out. just got my st. charles meet out of the way and hope after the 09 rally is over i have enough gas left to make it to vogel. so i'm going to slow down and finish up the final planning for the rally. please help us out and get registered. bill . :2133:thanks

Time to start this thread I suppose. If I count right there should be about 15 scooters travelling from our area to MD. Do ya'll want to have company? when do we leave? where do we meet. Here's what I have so far: Carl, Wayne, Jopie, Evan, SaddleBum, are available anytime, but plan to meet in Caledonia I think??????? How about the rest Now it's your turn.

Left early Sunday morning with Wanderer to meet Sleeperhawk's parents in Franklin, NC! We were on 64 headed west and saw them headed east! Finally were able to turn around and meet them at a gas station! Here are some pics of the ride! -

On Friday, June 5th I will be flying to Wichita Kansas to pick up my new (to me) Venture, and then heading out on a 2 day journey back home to NE Indiana. I hope to be spending Friday nite in St. Louis....probably St. Charles....and wondering if any members in the area would like to meet for a late dinner on Friday (maybe Culpeppers?) or for breakfast on Sat morning before I hit the road again. Snarley Bill??? Wrongway??? Any others??? Let me know! Joe

I just got back from a 250 mile round trip to visit with Brad and Lonna, and have brad help me tune my carbs. (well...Brad did all the work, and this was the true reason for the visit!!) Mind you I have never met either of them in person. They invite me to their house. From the time I roll in I felt like we were old friends. They both were happy to meet me and help me make the bike tip top. Well I must say....Brad YOU ROCK my friend. When I pulled into your drive my hands were almost numb from the vibration in my hand grips. I atributed that to my pipes, as that is when I started to notice the vibration. When you were tuning them you said they were not too far off, I must say they must have been farther off then they should have been because I had next to nothing for vibration on the way home. The bike is way more responsive than it had been and now I see more of a need for the clutch kit that is coming. I think I burned more fuel......it's not your fault though.....I couldn't keep my throttle in a steady place due to the new improved performance. I'm sure I must have put a dent in the bug population since I couldn't keep my teeth from showing. I must say this is the most friendly site I have ever been associated with and the people in person are nothing short of extrordinary. It was truely a pleasure to meet both of you and I look forward to M.D. to meet many more. Lonna, Holli doesn't have any rhubarb. Hollar at me if you need anything, especially if you want me to be the guinea pig for any of your taste tests! Well I wouldn't want to have anyone here trying to lose weight have to do it.(I gave up on loseing weight when cheescake is around!) See ya soon. Thanks, Big Mike:dancefool:

ADC bought Wanderer's Kawasakiand since we had a garage, it was stored at our garage. ADC and family came to Columbia this weekend to pick up the bike. Wanderer had left his bike in our garage for the last week while in Alabama, so Sleeperhawk enjoyed having the garage full of bikes! :happy65: So we had an impromptu meet and eat here at our house! It was great seeing ADC and Wanderer was able to meet another great member of our Venture family!
