    Clutch for sale

I replaced my clutch on my 86 VR with the Barnett. My old clutch looks like new and probably has only 5000 miles on it.I would replace the spring but other than that the friction plates are like new and the pressure plate also.I think the reason it slipped at high speed was because the guy who installed it did not index the plates or put the spacers in facing the same direction.Make an offer and I can send it.Boxed up and ready to go !
  2. Today installed on my 89, a new set of Driveing lights. Hella, Optilux 1500, units. Just got back in the house, from test drive after dark, and getting them adjusted. Boy, what a difference, from the single stock low beam. They are 55W, H3 Bulb units. I just removed the " El Chepo " units I had installed and replaced with the new ones. Couple of photo's here. ( as required )
  3. bought a new garmin nuvi 200 gps for my wing and just installed it. looks factory and it was cheap. don't have all the bells and whistles but it will get me where i aim it. hope i can hear it cuz it don't have an audio output jack. thats the only draw back. i need to get another power cord and mount so i can switch it over to my vstar.
  4. I'm thinking of ordering the Tinted Lower Wind Vents for my 07 Venture, has anybody put these on? Anybody have a picture of them installed? I hate it when accessories are offered for sale without a picture of how they look installed.
  5. How many of you all have installed leather hand grips on your bikes. I am thinking of putting some on my bike, but am curious to hear back from people who have installed them. Any pics of your grips would be appreciated. I like the looks of the ones on Squidleys bike that is in the classifieds. Ken
  6. Been a few postings latley concerning Stebel Horns, and horns in general. Last few days I've been researching " Horns " as to the loudest avialable. I drove around the other day, looking for " Stebel " Horns, couple of auto parts, and 2 motorcycle dealers. The answer was " we don't carry them " . Hmmm ?? Ok, yesterday I was at local auto parts, to get something else, I noticed Horns on the shelf, labled, " CARRAND HORNS " They were shaped, about the same as the " Volvo Horns " or " Fiamm " car horns that we are all familiar with. These were Labled, " Magnum Blaster, Horn, 138 Decibels " So on close examination, I see they are actually made by " STEBEL " !!! --Apparently, Stebel Horns, are being sold in the U.S. Under other brand Names -- So I bought one, the " High Tone " took it home, and Tried it on The bench with spare Battery, WOW!!! IT WAS LOUD. !!!! I compared to my bike which has 2 of the WOLO, ( same as Volvo, and Fiamm style ) ( 119 DB ) And the original BEEP Beep OEM Yamaha installed. ( total of 4 units installed ) ----- THE ONE, HIGH TONE, STEBEL 138DB WAS LOUDER, THEN THE 4 HORNS INSTALLED ON THE BIKE !!!! ---It actually hurt my ears, the bike installation, did not. ( Test, done , INSIDE the garage, with doors closed ) So I ran down and bought the Low tone, I installed the Two STEBEL's in place of the 2 WOLO's, and My - &*$%^ are they loud. No Air pump to mess with. I have them mounted Inside the Air Intaks on each fairing. Just remove the Plastic Grill, an Stuff them into the Air Intakes. Its a tight fit, but they do go in. The " Carrand Horns " P/n is 3-0115 and 3-0114--- The instructions, claim they should be fused at 10 Amps-- Each---- I am useing a Bosh Relay, and #16 Wires, and have a 15 AMP ATM type, fuse, feeding power to the Bosh Relay. Useing #16 stranded wire, to carry Power. Stock Horn Switch supplies a Ground to the Relay Solinoid. I'm not saying this is the best set-up, but, ---- I'm Happy with it !!!! Beep Beep Beep, ( no more of that nonsence !! ) Bye the way, Its still Raining in Seattle !!!!
  7. OK folks...as I await the arrival of m Zumo 550, I'm already trying to learn about it. I rode with a guy one day that had all the Yamaha Dealers installed as POIs. Do any of you know where I can get that file? Are there other interesting POIs that I should know about? Thanks
  8. Ok guys and gals..Who got safety chrome or something for their bike? If not, Lets hear about your favorite gift...Mine..... I'm setting on a new leather computer chair and the silver beast has a new GPS waiting to be installed...It was a great CHRISTMAS......now i'll be able to find my way back home after those "mystery rides".....
  9. I got my passing lamps from Santa and was getting ready to install them today but I decided I didn't like the switch that came with them so I stopped the install and started shopping. I was wondering what size handle bars are on the Venture? Also I was wondering if anyone has one of these(http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=3099&categoryID=1692) installed and how it worked for them. I am kinda torn between that one and this one (http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=935&categoryID=1692). Any suggestions would be appriciated.
  10. I really like the Kuryakyn iso grips, and I am wondering: Is there a set of grips that will work for the first gen venture? I notice some of them come with a throttle sleeve installed, which would be nice rather than fighting one on the old sleeve. TIA.
  11. Here is the question, I have a 2002 road star warrior that was purchased after some modifications. I have had several electrical issues that I believe can be traced back to a grounding cable that was replaced. That issue is resolved but now I need to know about grounding of the ignition switch. The previous owner installed the switch on the plastic air intake cover, where it is hidden from view. There does not seem to be a grounding wire except in the switch itself. My battery (which is new) drains down after about 12 - 16 hours. Does there need to a ground to the switch itself since it is installed in plastic.
  12. Does anyone have a picture of installed Macs on a MKII?
  13. Just installed new avon venom rear tire on 2007 venture. What tire pressure seems to work best with these tires?
  14. Bought the bike used and thought of installing the Leveling Links. How do I tell if the links have already been installed? Haven't ridden any other 2 gen's, so I have nothing to compare it with.
  15. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=285 Wife & I both listened and figgured the Vance & Hines sounded the nicest, followed by the Khromewerks. Anyone here got the Vance & Hines installed and could you provide some info re: what's needed to install these.
  16. I just received my lift adapter from Carbon One. Works great. I had not seen any pics of it installed so thought I'd post this for those who don't have one and wanted to see what it looked like installed. Well worth the money. Thanks Carbon One for your great work.
  17. I bought my 09' about 3 weeks ago and the bike comes without the cd player installed. The dealership has to order the players and then install it for you all on yamaha's bill. My CD player is now in at the dealer and I was thinking of just picking it up and selling it off before it ever comes out of the box. It comes with a storage bracket and a rubber isolation case to go around the player. What I am looking for is a picture of the CD player installed in the right saddle bag like it is suppose to be on the 09'. Can anybody help?
  18. 19. The 87 is again on ebay and if she stays in the garage... get your parts lists ready...the chop shop will be open. The markland hitch will be listed sometime this week along with a like new brown saddle, backrest pad, a collector I bought from Hess I never installed, etc. I had planned on a RSV but the Vulcan Voyager has my intrest being a ex-05 Nomad owner, but it is hard to beat the smooth ride and power of the Yamaha engine. Regards Dave
  20. I think my stator is going or gone. New battery, and seems to stay charged, but volt meter is showing max 12 volts droping to 10 ideling at a stop with brake held. Meter shows what seems to be a full sweep from idle to 3000rpm, but shows about 2volts lower than it used to be. Any thoughts?? Also, Who has installed Buckeye's High Output stator and what if any differences have you had to deal with? Thanks, DJ P.S. Just figgered out how to attach a photo, if anybody cares.
  21. Visited Cycle Gadgets again this year while in Eureka Springs and as always they treated my friend and I like Gold. They are truly good people. AJ bought a PIAA driving light set for his RoadGlide which they installed on the spot at no charge. They look really great with extra visibility and great night time performance. I bought a new half helmet headset that J&M has just came out with. It can be used on ANY half helmet. Very comfortable and inconspicuous on the helmet. On top of that it is made to just slide out and off when you don't want to use it. Again, the owner Sean installed it on my helmet and showed me how easy it was to use. On top of that I had a faulty electrical connection on my bike due to my electrically challenged wiring ability, where I wired in the extra 12v powerpoint supply behind the driver seat. Told Sean about it and it less than 10 seconds he was out in the parking lot making the repair with a new plug in connection. I was more than willing to pay, but as usual he wouldn't hear of it. Remember last year he soldered an extention on my XM power supply too. Well, just wanted folks to know about them. They aren't the cheapest place for accessories, but believe me they stand behind everything 110%. Jay
  22. I just ordered a set of these for my Venture. When I get them installed I will do a update report for all. Link to Fastners:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-ROYAL-STAR-VENTURE-SADDLEBAG-QUICK-FASTENERS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ84147QQihZ014QQitemZ330267962628QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  23. not bike related. on Friday, last, i went into town to run a errand. i looked down at my "amp gauge", and it was pegged out(20 to 22 amps). i stopped a "bato zone" and ordered a new alternator. it came in Sat. i installed it the same day. so far, it ain't charged a single amp. question is, does anyone know if Ford, installed an inline fusible link, or circuit breaker, or something, that would not allow the system to charge? it's in a 92 aerostar. any input would be appreciated. just jt
  24. Hop this works, seems like it is harder to do than the job was.
  25. Also posted this in the tech. forum but, no response yet and I want to ride soon! So,any help you can provide, is MUCH appreciated. Just installed Barons risers in my 2000 MM RSV. I installed the risers in about 20 minutes, as everyone said it would take. However, my throttle cable is so stiff when bars turned right, the throttle sticks and doesn't return to idle. I read that you can re-route the throttle cable..... New territory for me here, the throttle cable disappears into a black abyss..... Not sure where to loosen or reroute. BTW, sitting in the garage, the bars sure feel a lot better. I also took the rubber bumpers, flipped em upside down and backwards, seem to be wedged in there quite nicely. Any other ideas on how to reduce the tension? Danka. Erich
