I recently bought a 06 RSV that the previous owner had installed a set of Python slip ons. They sound great but too loud for my taste, any ideas what I might could install that would be close to the sound of the original pipes? Thanks in advance and by the way,I am new to the site and really enjoy reading everyone posts.

For Christmas I got the Baron's 4-2-4 Slip-ons for my 06 RSMV. I cannot wait to get them on the bike! I also got the extreme Family Jewell attachments. Questions for all you Guru's out there......... Is the install easy? Do I need to rejet? Most of all...... Are they loud ( I hope ) or just announce my presense? Any and all information appreciated!

I purchased a Show Chrome radiator cover from JC Whitney. Catalogue said it would fit all 2nd generation Ventures. I have a 2007. When I opened the box to install the instructions say it will fit 1999-2002 only. Called JC Whitney and they called Show Chrome who said it might fit or it might need slight modification. Since I have to dismantle quite a few parts to install I would like to know for sure if it will fit. I like the look of the cover (only one I have found in chrome). Has anyone purchased and installed one of these. If so, will it fit as is or what kind on modification if not. Thanks.

in a few days i plan to start installing the buckeye stator...in the install info in this site, and from buckeye, it says that the 3 wire connector cannot handle the heat...so you must solder the wires together..my question is, is it the connector material itself that can't handle the load. or the actual wiring ( or pins ) that can't i would like to remove the wires from the connector ( not cut ), discard the connector and replug the wires to each other....shrink wrap each individual wire and then shrink wrap all three as a bundle together........................or.....go down to radio shack, purchase their connector, redo the wires with their pins and use that connector.....their connector and pins are bigger than the pins used in yamaha connectors

I have a question about the passing lamp install. I have read about using a 30amp relay and running the power right off the battery so the fuse is under the seat next to the battery. doesn't this drain the battery? Also wouldn't this keep the lights on even if the ignition is off? any help would be appriciated. Thanks

I am getting ready to split the faring (first time by my self). I found the write up by Squidley expaining this is done and how to install the spilt audio cable so that I can install my new Zumo 550. My question is this, can I just tap into the electrical power behind the power outlet inside the faring for my GPS power or should I get the power from somewhere else? Thanks---

I got my passing lamps from Santa and was getting ready to install them today but I decided I didn't like the switch that came with them so I stopped the install and started shopping. I was wondering what size handle bars are on the Venture? Also I was wondering if anyone has one of these(http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=3099&categoryID=1692) installed and how it worked for them. I am kinda torn between that one and this one (http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=935&categoryID=1692). Any suggestions would be appriciated.

So I will be installing RK mufflers on my RSV this weekend. Got Brad's brackets (Thanks Brad, by the way, they look great) and got the wide V-Twin muffler clamps. The inside of the clamps have a ridge at one end on the ID side. 3/4 of the ID is one size and 1/4 of the ID is a little smaller. How do I install the clamps with this smaller I/D on one end of the contact surface. Do I put the smaller ID onto the pipe and the larger ID onto the slotted end of the muffler (but clamp might not tighten all the way on the mufller side), or do I install the smaller ID onto the slotted muffler end ? Did you guys use any high temp silicone to seal everything up ? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Long live this forum !

I tried searching the forum but could not find it, but does anybody have a copy of the document the dealer uses to do final assembly of the 2nd Gen RSV? I would like to read the document as I am just curious as to what the dealer has to install and adjust... It might help purchasers of new bikes to make sure the dealer did not do something wrong...

So i called my nearest ymaha shop to get a new front tire. they asked what bike and year and after they looked up the tire they had service set up a time to install it. they again asked what bike and year. so all was good. the tire came in today and when i talked to service they said oh we dont work on any bike older then a 2000 even just to install a tire that they said they would when i ordered the tire? I was pissed but they had already charged my card when they ordered it. they mount it but if i bring in the wheel though.

I made a decision to purchase a standby generator, a 20 KW air cooled model. Operates on natural gas, came with a 200 amp Load shedding automatic transfer switch. I'm in the process of doing the install over the next 2-3 weeks. I wanted to know if anyone here might use this brand or have any knowledge of these generators. Thanks J.B.

Hope this is the right place to post. Bought a complete (all parts and instructions intact) OEM Yamaha stator cooling kit off Ebay to install on my 84. Got it apart to find it was already there. Lots cheaper than a new stator and easy to install. 1 hour. $25 + shipping $7 chuckfrench48@gmail.com or 915-594-4083

I put in the clearview and when I went to install the chrome piece in sits in there fine but on the l side the hole is bigger than the bolt that came out. The backing is gone from inside the hole and originally I dropped the bolt inside and had to retrieve it.The r side is fine so the chrome piece is up there but I am afraid to leave it with one bolt as I believe a wind may yank it off. I guess I could get a slightly longer bolt and use a washer but I think that would be unsightly. Any suggestions??? All ideas welcome. I am sure I am not the first to have to face this!! Thanks jb

I have a Dell diminsion 2400. I am running windows XP sp2. I have IE and Msn Explorers. I had a virus called anti virus xp 2008 to install itself on here, I uninstalled the program before I even knew it was a virus and the next day a virus called anti virus 2008 try to install itself. I was doing a search and 5 more tried to install. I stopped the downloads. My icons keeps disappearing every 5 or 6 seconds and reappears every 3 or 4 seconds,.The only thing I can get to stay up is IE and MSN. My Pc has been locked from recieving any updates and I cannot access any websites that has Anti Viruses downloads. If I try to access any anti Virus websites it fails to detect that I am connected. I had AVG anti virus installed and the updates to it were blocked out. If I try to do any searches it does not take me to the search that I type in or it takes me to the search pages but when I clicked on one of the links, urls another virus trys to install itself. This morning it was Vista 2008. Its probally the same virus just different names. I am unable to download anything at all. This is Pat (aka) warden. I suggested to Yammer that we redo windows xp and start all over with a clean Pc and get all the JUNK cleaned out from years past. But he insisted on me posting this so here it is. GO ahead tell him how right I am.
