  1. hate to do it but i guess i will have to break out my long sleeve t-shirt and insulated sunglasses. they keep the tears from freezing. bet eck never thought of an invention like that.
  2. good luck with the new routine. bill:2133:
  3. looks like i may have to wear something warm to memphis. going to be 38 degrees here in st. louis when i leave saturday morning. we may have some areas of frost. last call for someone to ride along. bill
  4. sounds like your picking on my buddy eck.
  5. kind of hard to hook up with one of these here rocket fast goldwings. :rotf::rotfl::rotf:. let me know if you want to meet on the way. i'm coming straight down 55. bill
  6. anyone coming through st. louis, mo about 5 am saturday morning that wants to ride down 55 with me give me a holler. bill
  7. here's my overall take on the bike. i think it is a very good looking bike. should have stump pulling torque with the slightly under square engine. the ergonomics look good for rider and passenger. the belt drive is a plus over the shaft drive. low maintenance and one less thing to change oil on. i have a 2007 zx14 kaw, and i have to say the quality on it is impeccable. it beats yamaha and yamaha has good quality. the only negative is it will not be as smooth as an engine with 4 plus cylinders. my 1700cc warrior felt like some one was pounding the frame with a big hammer every time a cylinder fired. it is hard to smooth out powerpulses on a v-twin that big. they can get rid of vibration with damper shafts, but the power pulses hit hard. i would take that into consideration. mostly when your used to a v-4. otherwise i love it. i would buy one if i did'nt love my wing so much. just my 2 cents. bill
  8. glad you cleared that up. my v-star 1300 will get 49 mpg under ideal conditions, but not very often. the best i can get out of my majesty scooter 400cc is 56 mpg no matter what i do. my wing tops out at 46 mpg. usually average about 44 mpg. i am a very conservative rider.
  9. sorry i won't be able to meet you. linda and i will be praying for your dad. bill
  10. kind of my feelings. where the heck you been allan. i'm only 4 miles from you. if you need something i'm always here for you. i do knee surguey as a side line. i have this here channel locks and battery powered drill just waitin for ya. good luck with your surgery . me and linda will be praying for a quik recovery. if you need something just give me a call. i'm always here for ya. your good buddy bill ps. you better get your butt back on here. we all miss you.
  11. haylies got more nerve than i got, getting in a side car. glad you all are getting back in the swing of things. bill
  12. anyone that does'nt come will be missing one of the neatest meet and eats of all times. the only reason it won't be as nice as it was last year is i will miss my good buddy Mean Dog. last time i got to see and talk with him. i'm sure he will be there this year too, watching over us. hope to see a record bunch for this event. bill :)
  13. lewis riding alone so far. just can't get these young kids on their bikes that early in the morning. all the bikes are serviced ready to go. just got to decide which one to bring. depends on the weather. if it is a total rain out, i will be caging it. any body coming through st. louis? i will be pulling out around 5am on saturday. should be there around 11am. got 2 favorite charities and st. jude is no.1. see you there buddy. bill :clap2:
  14. okay i think i missed the little party at the park that night last year. i was sawing logs at the motel like a good boy. did'nt that party involve a park ranger?
  15. hey brad, it's hard enough being nice without you rubbing it in. thanks for the compliment. i owe you two hugs next week. bill
  16. not a problem. we do have a 25 acre paved smoking area under the stars. just a joke, really. i think we are going to have all the bases covered. the committee is going to do it's best to make everyone happy, and see to it that every one has a great time. i think before it's over i'm going to find out what it's like to be president.
  17. i think the dry county thing on here was meant to be kind of a joke. but it is something that has to be adressed. for the people that like to have a cold one, like me, and alot of others, we have it covered, i don't care for soda or iced tea. but i happen to like the taste of beer, and so do alot of others. like i said this meet is for everyone so everyone should have what they want. the beer situation was an issue and it will be legally taken care of. we will not be breaking any laws. the owners of the hub have informed me of what can legally be done and we will do everything within the law. i have been to alot of venture meets where there was alchohol present and have never seen anyone over do it yet. i trust the members on here to be more intellegent then that. did'nt want the beer issue to turn into a major thing of importance so before it does i just wanted to clear it up. there are certain rules the hub has and if everyone follows them we will have no problems. when i went to vogel the last two years we were in a dry county. lots of people had alchohol and there were no major problems. hope this clears thingds up a bit. bill
  18. it is a dry county. but we have that covered. not to worry.
  19. i promise everyone beer will be plentiful, or you can burn me at the stake. you beer drinkers lucked out. don picked a beer drinker to head this rally up. :clap2:
  20. only twice? you ought to come to missouri. only twice in one hour would be a Godsend. i live on the edge the whole time i ride. it's rough when i have to compete with thousands of cell phones, make up, and big macs for drivers attention.
  21. see you there. bill:2133:
  22. it's going to be rough, but i'll try to be good. have a great time. bill
  23. linda and i will have him in our prayers.
  24. you can get a self tapping plug at an auto parts store, for a temporary fix. take your old plug in and they will fix you up. i would replace the pan or remove it and have it drilled and tapped for an oversize plug.what ever you do fix it right.
