  1. ggrrroooaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnn
  2. Gotta love that area of BC ... I've ridden those roads many, many times. Oh btw..... :stickpoke:
  3. I've been carrying a plug kit for years too ... never had to use it while on the road tho I replaced the plugs this past spring as the ones I had appeared to be drying out. I plugged the rear tire on my '87 and ran it for a few month's before I needed to replace the tire. Never leaked so hoping this one will be ok ... guess I'll go with it and keep my fingers crossed.
  4. DITTO!
  5. We're leaving tomorrow after work so it will be appx 20 hours sitting before we ride on it.
  6. The plug kit is made by slime ... www.slime.com Can't recall where I bought these plugs.
  7. Mine does the same... been that way since I got it with 1300 kilometers on it ... it now has almost 42,000 ... I believe it's the valve chain tensioner (or whatever it's called). It only seems to be on the rear cylinders and it does go away after a couple minutes.
  8. Inspecting the bike in preparation for our 4 day weekend camping trip (putting our Leesure Lite trailer to it's firt test) into the interior of BC and what do I find??? ... a f&^%@ nail in my rear tire! New Elite III just over 4000 miles on it. Pulled the nail out and it's about a 2 inch brad. Decided to plug the hole coz it's pretty small ... waddya think? Am I gonna be good to go? (figgure I'll get a few conflicting responses to this Q ) If I have to replace the tire before we leave, it will set us back by at least a day and as a result, we may loose our camping spot. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  9. If you include having small hands and or short fingers which makes it difficult to work the clutch "friction zone" when the lever is almost fully released in the category of "poor clutch control". Under that circumstance, a person is using only the "first knuckle" of their finger which is considerably weaker than the "second knuckle" so consequently your hand/wrist will get sore quicker, not to mention the long-term damaging effect it might have on your tendons (carpal tunnel anyone?)
  10. From my experience, no it isn't. In my case tho, I changed from the upgraded spring to a double stock spring setup and even it isn't that difficult; however, if you are stuck in stop-and-go traffic for a long time and you have weak hands, it can be bothersome... so far I have managed but I do find myself kicking it into neutral more often than I ever did before.
  11. You only have ONE porn channel??? aawwwwwwwwwwww :rotfl:
  12. Based on the mileages folks are "upgrading" their clutches and comments such as "already blueing", etc .... seems pretty apparent that the clutch on these Ventures is a real POS. Of all the scoots I've owned over the years, I've never had to do any clutch work until I bought my '85 VR ... had to replace the clutch on it .... clutch on the '87 VR was slipping a bit... and same on the '06 RSV. WTF gives anyway??
  13. ...and thus the reason I upgraded my clutch "modified,... not rebuilt" with skydoc's kit. In fact, one of my steel discs were already showing some "blueing".
  14. WINTERpeg ??? yuukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk !!! :stickpoke: hold it at Kenora, ON ... a much nicer area.
  15. I'm grabbing a bag of popcorn and a coke to watch the show....
  16. are you saying we Canucks are ..... ???
  17. When yer dooin 75 mph or more, it can be done ...
  18. We canucks just like to get more.... Actually, I'd guess it has a lot to do with supply and demand. Sure, we can run south of the border and get it cheaper (generally speaking) but there's only a small percentage of folks who a) have the wherewithall to do that and b) will buy stateside versus buy in Canada (as in keep the money in our own country)
  19. Forget animals ... we have a tenant who lives in the downstairs suite ... he doesn't know the difference between daytime and nighttime and often decides he's going to work on his truck, boat, car, whatever (right outside our bedroom window) .... about 1/2 hour after I've gone to sleep .... and when that happens, I have a h3lluva time getting back to sleep. Oh wait a minute... come to think of it... he is a bit of an "animal"!!
  20. That might depend on the way it has been driven. I didn't even have 34000 KILOMETERS on mine and I was getting slippage when I did a high rpm power shift from 3rd to 4th. From that, it wouldn't be long before I'd be feeling slippage under load in 5th especially pulling mountain grades and/or towing the trailer .... so I did the "skydoc" upgrade. Now, it's been a while (few month's) and I pulled the new tent trailer from Spokane home and never felt any slippage ... and this coming weekend will be the "real test" as we're all loaded up to go camping and I'll be pulling a lot of mountain grades on this trip.
  21. Reflection or not, apparently YOU could SEE IT LOL!!
  22. A nice thick strip loin steak done on the grill 500 degrees - 4 min each side with some home-made BBQ sauce, salad of almost any kind, and at this time of year, fresh corn on the cob and for dessert, vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge topping.
  23. In my case, I had the halo before I started using pledge.......
  24. Whatever the price is, knock off at least a grand for having the antenna's incorrectly mounted... Nice colors!
  25. That makes sense!
