    what if you changed rotors? they appear to be the same bolt pattern. what im saying is, 83vr forks, with 85vmax rotors, those adapters and r1 calipers.......

    so what are the differences between the 83, which i have, and an 85vr? i found a bike locally, running, but always could use some parts. besides, my 2nd gear just went. will it work?

    scott, id love to come hang out with an airborne brother, but, calif. is not a cost-effective option for me. hey randy, how do i get ahold of that 83 trans? what else would i need to install it?

    well, when i rode it home, i noticed a jerking on heavier accel in second. when i acceled fast in second, it sounded like a crunching and hard jerking in second. sounded like it was behind my left foot. thought for sure i left some parts behind me! i rode it slowly home, and no issues with any gears. but man, it didnt sound good when i rode it hard.

    nothing with any other gear. just jerky on heavy accel with second, today, it clunked hard. sounded like it was behind me.

    yep. 2nd is jerking and today...CLUNK!...sounds like somethings giving out. ive heard mention of this 2nd gear issue, but, whats the fix?

    looks great! i might take mine back apart and redo them! so you wiped off all the old numbers with brake fluid? if so, cool. i didnt like the line up of the vinyl on my 83. old numbers shown thru cuz its for the 86-up. i have to solder in some jumpers anyhow for h.i.d. and led's.

    im going to be going progressives front with anti-dive blocking plates that skydoc has for sale. i get to remove that UGLY junk on my fork tubes. from what everyones says, its worth the 150 bucks. they havnt let me down yet....just ordered speedbleeders too.

    got tci and coils in mail today. opened tci, looks good! installed on bike, runs awesome! fired right up! glad i moved tci to airbox, like suggested.
