Stalled and sweaty, why?
Sleeperhawk replied to Dave77459's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Are you going to get a new one from Yamaha since your bike is under warranty? -
But be sure to leave it in gear, otherwise if doing it this way, the U joint will move around in a circle beside doing the flop act. But I do it this way all the time and usually have it in under 10 min (with the pumpkin attached).
-
Your drive shaft is not in the U joint, and you should never ever have to smack the differential to put it into the U joint.
-
short answere yes, but you can get the subscriptions withou having xm subscription, at least this was the case when i subscribed but i get complete package anyway

Boy,I would be going to different dealer. mine does not charge for diagnostic work, bike is under warrenty. if it is the fuel filter they will tell me and i would authorize them to replace, just because they did the diagnostics. keeps them happy. but i agree you should determine if you did not connect air hose properly or pinched it. if the fuel filter has not been replaced at all in 4 years, you need to replace anyway. -
What are you guys grinding your tires on? :confused24: Never got below 16000 on the rear E3 and just put a new front on right at 30,000. 99% 2 up and we are not sitting still, lots of 80 and 90 mph rides between here and there. Something is definitely wrong if you are only getting 10,000 on the front and about that on the rear.

Next time I grease things up, I will pull it out again and check, but it seemed oily to me the last time I pulled it out.
-
Yep, got the email, they are now in production mode.
-
Why grease the end that is sitting in pumpkin oil? Doesn't the grease contaminate the oil? :confused24:

At one of the vendor area's, they announced that the MB Helmet law was rescinded, but I cannot find anything official yet. Also, another announcement was that the 2011 Bike week would be back in MB and all vendors would be back. So I will wait and see about the vendors (was definitely lacking) but we were not hassled by the police at any time. We did see both cagers and bikers pulled over though.

Leveling Links Vs Smaller front
Sleeperhawk replied to screamstone's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have noticed rides tons smoother with the Mechanic. For some reason, wind turbulence is more noticeable without her. I have had the 130, and had no issues at any speed, but when I put the Flander bar setup on, did not like the feel of the 130, so went back to the 150 and no issues at any speed. Never tried the leveling links, do not need too.- 19 replies

Gotta crack my fairing open...
Sleeperhawk replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Very light actually, so be careful when tightening the bolts, just snug them is all. -

Only if you have the lightbar adapter that sets the lightbar out about an inch or so. If you have that, yes you are correct, you will not to remove the lightbar. -

The instructions for the fairing are the same for the 2nd gen, no matter the year. You may have the passing lights on this bike, so put a towel over the fender and be sure you ball end allen wrenches, you will need them for removing the two bolts underneath the front cowling for the passing lamps. -
I put Flanders bar on my 08, definitely helped the pain in the arms. Do a search for the Flanders or call Rick at Buckeye Performance. He has the complete setup. Get a hold or Rick Butler, he will mod your seat. Just tried my modified seat out this weekend, no pain and the Mechanic likes the way her seat is firmer now.

Hey, that was pretty cool to watch too :rotf: but informative

I have never gotten less than 14000 out of a rear Avon, 2up 99% most of the time, and not sitten around neither, lots of miles on the super slab. Also put 46lb in the rear and 42 up front and always 2 rear tires for every 1 front tire.
-
It does and it is kind of neat to watch the coolant heat and flow to the overflow, then flow back when it is cooling off.

Just the normal 50/50 Prestone Green stuff.

No leveling links and I do run shock at 45 lbs. And I am with you on the counter weight :crying:
