I am wondering if it will make any difference for me as my bike is triked and stays level all the time. OR is it just in HOT conditions that this happens?
-
Now that we have the right way to vent with saftey in mind.. Lets get back on the topic.. HOW have some of YOU noticed the change or did it do anything at all for you? Notice a differance? yadda, yadda, yadda .....

Same here. So many things I have done and more to go. should be done in about 2 more weeks. cost a fortune. but I am happy! and soon to be riding. I has been 4 months now .
-
A gentleman is making them on the other site out of plexi-glass and go on the inner right side of the trunk.. he does nice work. Jeff
-
no drilling BOOM !
-
And make SURE you punch the TWO tabs on each side of the WAX paper box before using! so your roll will stay in.. I learnt that from ECK! He'd Da Man!
-
Should not be any metal in the tank from punching. I think you would if you drilled. Beside, you have one filter inside the tank and one out side if there happened to be any at all. When I did mine today , mine was already emptied. and I had a towel inside the tank just below the filler neck and I saw no debris from the punching at all after taking it out.. No partials on the rag as well.

I believe it makes it so the the air that is always trapped on the top of the tank will now be full of fuel after adding the holes. makes since to me. go another 20/30 miles maybe.

Wow, now that's an attention getter! Great job!

Way to go!

Maybe I won attempt this project yet I am totally confused now , I thought maybe I could run it off a different relay that was closer to that lower horn. and have nothing to do with my Stable set-up. thanks for putting up with me . Jeff
-
Thanks Walter! I will do that mod during this weeks new projects! #87 to power on horn. and Done! Leave Ground were it is! I have one relay that is running just my headlight , thinking of coming off that one, it is close to the lower fairing horn. I will un-plug the stable and do a before and after test and let you know what I think as well. Jeff
-
So I have two under the front fairing I could run off of one of them. so #87 to power on the factory horn , (disconnect the bike's power) to horn and that's that? do you think it matters if I do not run it off the same relay as the stable?
-
And, how did you do this? Run off a single separate relay or use the same one to the running light etc? and what terminal did you run it off of?

Oh man, I have lights going on , another set of gauges, dremaling aways on emblems, bike is all tore apart again. garage heated, have about 7 projects on the bike done already! yadda , yadda yadda! Oh and here is Francis's Web page on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Francis-the-Ladybug-Volkswagen-Beetle-1967/132329997449?ref=ts http://www.facebook.com/pages/Francis-the-Ladybug-Volkswagen-Beetle-1967/132329997449?ref=ts#!/album.php?aid=107342&id=132329997449 He was created by John Lasader and Pixar Studio's about 12 years ago when A BUGS LIFE came out. The headliner is signed by all the voice actors in the movie. Even Phillys Diller's signed name is on his headliner in him. not in bad shape for over 40 years old. He has been fun. and the kids go crazy over him as well. We also might be bring him the the Des Mones, IA Antique Road Show this coming June if we get invited, we applied for the tickets. and will not know until may 1st if he ws excepted or not. he is also a collectible. So ya see can not afford to smoke anymore! I purchased Francis for my wife's anniversary present last year and surprised her with him. she fell in love with him right away!
-
YES SIR RE BOB ! 50 DAYS NOW! *yippy* I am doing compulsive modification to the bike I don't know how many more I can do when that is ALL done maybe I will start smoking again! *LOL* NOPE NOPE NOPE! make sure you check in from time to time and keep reminding me I quit Smoking! Life is good! Now I am putting $1,500 into my wifes show car Francis , engine rebuild and a few other things , for this coming show season. PIXAR studios wants use to drive him over to Calif, for there July Car show this year. she has won 4 trophy's now with him.

WES, So in doing that mod for the factory horn will boost it more? I already have the stable installed and the relays up under the fairing. I can tap off of one of them and that horn will get louder as well? maybe I read your post wrong. I have everything torn apart anyways for my other projects and if this is the case I will add the wire for it as well. Thanks, Jeff

Very Kewl!:happy65:Mine are on the way from custom dynamics. I am just going with white under the tank to make the chrome shinny at night. gunna see how that looks then go from there. I already have the wiring done to have a Quick Release system for when I remove the tank from time to time. The on/off switch will go on my top cover that goes over the key hole, on the other side of the garage door opener button. I now can detach the wires from that part as well. detach in two places -
I like the wax paper idea! :happy65:That is a great idea! Thanks!

yet, another great idea !

I wonder if being 15 degs outside would be a help factor? (fumes) I empty tank for another project and I figured I would go ahead with it but really blew it out very well and I did do it in very cold weather. It also seemed that when I shoved the red shop rag into the tank and blocked of the rest of the tank below and then stuck my nose in the filler I could not smell a thing. anyways. I think you have a great idea! And I am very happy I made it through this project with my face and hand still in-tacked! I always hate doing projects like this . but t is done with a good ending.
