  1. Hey Right on.. I thought it was just me. I hopped on my Dad's Gold Wing and turned it around in his driveway at snails pace. I thought it was balanced perfectly. However, My midnight, I still have trouble turning a small radius. I've only had it 2 months though. I guess I'll get used to it, but the GW just floats around the corners. I still like the way the RSV looks and sounds.
  2. What kinda truck, Ford or Chevy... ha-ha just kiddin
  3. Well SHAAZAM, Gaalee, thats a nice bike. Your lucky I didnt see that at Thunder Tower 2 months ago. I just bought an 02 Midnight and Love the cream color. I would be glad to pick you up at the airport. I live outside of Columbia in Lexington 10 miles away. Actually the airport is near Lexington. Anytime your ready, just give me a PM. Dog gone those people at Thunder Tower hiding that bike from me.
  4. Yeah, I got same squeak on my trunk, but goes away when my wife rides. Mines not that bad. Understanding that the whine at 60 mph and the radio blaring with the Bub's blasting, I couldnt hear an atomic bomb. LIFE IS GOOD !!!!
  5. Yeah thats funny, just dont try that with commercial airlines coming in for landing. Now thats a way to get throw into the clink, really. Bad idea.
  6. I too have raised Africans. Very good hobby to say the least. We had about 5 small goldfish in a 20 gal tank at work. Seems like everybody in the office would come back and sprinkle food in the tank. Goldfish are very DIRTY and very hard to keep the tank clean. Overfeeding them only compounded the problem. The tank turned out to be a toxic waste dump. Goldfish Never again. Yard ponds are great for them. I think the other post have covered it well. Dittos. Good luck
  7. Cool pics. That seems like a great place to hang out. Whats up in the racks in the building? Looks like other bikes.
  8. Wow... what a ride. Sounds like almost an Ironbutt record was in the making. I'm about 1 hour from N.augusta. Nice roads down here, but I dont really like the interstate. Too much traffic.
  9. I think I was the one that needed to know where the AIS was located. Wrench did some home work on it. Anyway, sounds like something I need to do. We're makin alot of pop corn around here. It's not too bad, but in the decel going down hill, gearing down trying not to burn the brakes its kinda bad. Maybe thats why people were diving into the bushes as I passed. Machine gun Kelly should be my new name.
  10. Wrench, Thanks for checking on this. I feel kinda dense. As I said before, I dont even know what an AIS is and where to locate it. Once I find it, I'll take a break from watching whale Wars and plug that stupid thang. If it stops the poppin I'll be happy. If it still pops, I'll look other places. Thanks for you input. Oh yeah, the whale war captain was so far out in his beliefs, he got kicked out of Green Peace. I know he just cares so much for the planet... They are running twin Mercs ( 2 Stroke, oil burners ) on thier chase boats. Go figure... All the guys I go offshore with run 4 strokes. I dont understand.
  11. So the Bub's are designed to be repacked? Good to know. So I still need to remove the Bub's I guess. I also like quite pipes. A little rumble is good though. The pipes kinda cover up the Whine at 56-65 mph.
  12. Well now I guess I need to think about saving the planet and not stepping on anyones toes. ...... I just got through watching whale wars, sorry. You guys are way more experienced than I am, which makes this site a wealth of information. NOW What the Heck is an AIS? and where is it located ? Maybe I can try to plug it up and just see if it works. If it doesnt, then try something else. BTY, what do ya repack a Bub with? I have the original pipes and tried to put them back on, but the Bubs were stuck. So that means I'll have trouble filling or repacking. Maybe I should buy some ear plugs and forget it. Oh yeah, one other thing, my bike sounds like a Mustang GT when I get on the throttle. Going through a tunnel on the BRP, it sounded like I was at a drag strip. Pretty cool I must say,,,
  13. My Bub's pop like a pop corn machine on steriods on the decel expecially going down hill. I cant imagine any worse popping. Maybe mine doesnt have any filling either. I just bought this RSV last month from the original owner. I wonder how you tell if the Bub has the stuffing inside?
  14. Vmax=Muscle bike. You'll get a speeding ticket without even trying. I have a V65 and always respect the power. I dont drive it fast at all. But, still its hard to go through the gears and not speed. Its just so smooth and when twisting the throttle, you just barely have to tweak it. I guess the Vmax is the same. Drive safely.
  15. Missionary, Thanks for the pics. We also need a water bottle and also a Water bottle holder to clamp on to handle bars. Where did you get your Bottle holder?
  16. Walmart has offered (recyclable) blue bags for groceries and other items bought (50 cents). That way you can save the world not using plastic. They are kinda a nice heavy paper product. I put our traveling clothes in the bags and drop them right in the saddle bags of the venture. Two bags fit perfectly into each side. When you get to the hotel, just grab the bags and go into the room. works for me.
  17. I just bought an 02 Midnight. I questioned the power as well. I understand the Venture likes rpm's, so does the V65. The V65's engine is kinda like the Vmax, Very strong. V65 has a 6 speed trans. V65, I never shift out of overdrive even riding two-up uphill. The venture, I need to shift on the smallest hill. You can tell with the V65, the smallest of throttle inputs, the bike rockets forward. With all the said, the venture is a large heavy, comfortable ride. I'll never expect it to perform like the V65 or Vmax for that matter. Also, I'm not going to hit the rev limiter just to make it go faster. With the Bubs installed, its way too load. I shift into OD on the Venture about 45-50 and slowly accel to 65-70. Its not a rocket, but, its a cadilac on two wheels.
  18. Thats right about the valves. The Vmax is a little faster. I couldnt help it, after I posted last time, I had to go grab some throttle. I havent rode it in a couple weeks cause I've been on the Venture. Now I have two cycles to keep up. And I'm a clean freak at that. Oh brother !! what will I do...... I just love a clean, shiny bike.
  19. Yeah, they be crazzy, however they look like ametuers twirling the poor snakes around. Thats why he finally got bit. I used to go snake hunting with a professional snake handler. No need to twirl the snakes. Anyway, if they're from MS, they should get another song and not one from my home state LA. . Those guys have had way too many PBR's. I know, always a critic in tha bunch.
  20. I dont even know what a G. bell is? Is it a secret?
  21. Well, I'm new to the Venture crowd. I dont know about the older Ventures at all. They look nice though. So your saying the older Ventures have more power? They look less bulky or heavy than the 2nd Gen. I'm still not impressed with the power of mine, but its comfortable and has lots of room to store stuff. Honda marketed the V65 as a drag bike and has posted times of upper 10's in the quarter mile. Thats what I'm used to, but I;m not a speed demon anyway, so I love my 02 Mid Venture the same. My wife likes the RSV too.
  22. Your correct about that. The Venture site is great. I think the V65 site has changed in the last 5 years. I have an 83 V65 and love it. Few people have or remember what its like to grab a throttle full of raw power. When you rev up to 6-7K rpm's (10K is redline)and shift, it snaps your head back so hard, wow.. Better have your "A" game on. Thats how many of those bikes arent around any more. I bought the Venture because my wife and I are too big for the little seat, plus we want to travel some. I'll look through my favorites and see if I can find it and I'll pm you.
  23. Dont worry. Like I said before, I forgot what section it was in. Actually it wasnt a thread starter post so other people may not have seen it either. I think the bike is over priced though. I'm sure they'll come down if someone was really interested. Yeah, then the buyer feels great about the deal. Walks away thinkin they pulled one on the dealer (I mean stealer). I bet someone traded for a GW.
  24. I saw it there as well. I thought I posted a thread about it in another section. I think it has 48K miles. I can go look at it again if anyone wants me to.
  25. OK... I'm sold.. I make it 10-15 miles before my hand falls asleep and I need to use the cruise control. My V65 has foam grips, no good. My bicycle same thing. My hands have been doing this for 20 years. If these gloves work they will be a God send. I hope they dont cost a fortune, but on the other hand they might be worth it.
