Got up at 4:30 this morning and it was 37. Cool but clear. There was about 200 bikes. Had real good catfish. I went with a group of 13 bikes, we went up hwy 43 to hwy 69 to hwy 10. Man hwy 69 was great, with alot of hill a curves. The main group had State Troppers to lead then in non stop. Our luck the ST's followed us for about 30 miles on the way back. When the rest stoped for coffee I kept going with the ST's, would you believe they took off and I went with them. They were riding 75 to 80 and I stayed with then. You should have seen the look on the face of a County Sheriff when we went by. Made it home safe and sound, with no ticket. Great Day for the New Year!!! P.S. there was a 55 mph speed limit. tew47:bighug:

And of course there were a number of RSTD's and Ventures. The food was outstanding!!! Will be doing a dinner ride on Jan. 1 to Butler,AL, there were 500 bikes last year. Maybe I will see some of you there. tew47 Gene Weir

November 6, 2007 Green Earth Technologies has announced a completely biodegradable motor oil which the company claims is the “first bio-based, high-endurance motor oil to provide superior performance during the maximum oil change interval recommended by vehicle manufacturers”. G-OIL is made from tallow acquired from American beef farmers - so as well as its environmental credentials the product has no dependence on foreign oil – and will enter US Market in a range of performance levels and viscosities to suit gasoline, diesel, or hybrid engines. http://www.gizmag.com/ See automotive

A friend took his HD to local dealer for a tire change. When he picked it up they had put the rear tire on the front, and the front tire on the back and had dropped the bike and would not acknowledge that they had damaged the bike. tew47

On my 97' RSTD the rear wheel locked up a I had a wreck. I did not employ proper braking, was not straight when braking. On my 07' RSV I have not had that problem, I took the MSF course and learned proper braking. It helps when you know how and not from someone who does not know the right way. When someone tells you they had to lay it down too miss a car, they do not know how to brake or swerve. Look stright ahead, keeping handlebars square and use both brakes without skidding the tires. Of course you have to be in the vertical position. tew47
