  1. Hi Rusty, We'll have to get all thee together for a ride and some pic's. Couger is moving to Macon within a few years and we'll have 4 down here then. Harry
  2. Ok I'm praying BIG TIME for this one.
  3. Oh Randy there is a MM saddlebag on Ebay. It is pretty high but you can afford it with the money your saving on the bike. $499 . Try Pin Wall Cycles I know they have salvaged wo MM they may have a MM saddlebag cheaper.
  4. Well Randy we'll have to coordinate now on our meet and eats. We will have everyone thinking they are seeing double. Congratulations super super buy. You owe Godlover a big . And dinner too. Hey be careful coming home and let us know when you get her back. Mine is number 728.
  5. If what I have been told is true you can take the gas cap off, turn the gas cap upside down, there are some numbers under the lid. I have been told you can make a key from those numbers. I have never tried it but write down those numbers and put it in a safe place like your wallet and if you loose your keys you should be able to go to Yamaha and have a key made. At least that is what I've been told.
  6. I guess I did not express my problem very well in my last post. Sorry. I have a Slime air pump that attaches via a DC plug that plugs into the DC outlet on the front fairing. I also have a battery tender connector attached to my battery where I attach the battery tender to charge the battery. Is there any devise or any way to connect the air pump to the battery tender connector that is already connected to the battery?
  7. I think that one runs around $1700. Someone makes one that has only two speakers. Its cheaper but I don't know how much. Afriend has one on his Road Star. I think they are good looking also.
  8. I can't say for sure on a 1999 but on a 2000 and 2001 they are phillips heads. I have a bad feeling yours are stripped out.
  9. Now this is the way I understand it and I may be way off base. If the antenna's are switched and connected to the right equipment (radio antenna to radio and CB antenna to CB) then it doesn't hurt anything. If your antenna's are switched and connected to the wrong thing (CB antenna to radio and radio antenna to CB) then you have a problem.
  10. I have a 2200T. Sorry I forgot the opinion. I had mine mounted on my Road Star. My Roadi vibrated it to death. First time on the Roadi too. The Venture is a much smoother running bike so it might last. It is not waterproof or shockproof. I went with a Garmin that is waterproof and shockproof.
  11. Beautiful but a little under powered, only 1 hp.
  12. If I can come up for the meet and eat (you will not kick a Georgia Boy out will you) I'll be glad to take him for a ride. I owe him big time anyway since I have a lot of parts off his bike on mine since he triked his.
  13. It has a back seat doesn't it?:rotfl:
  14. Ok I got back from the PGR mission early enough to look. My fuses are 5 amp. I have the same little pump I think. Clear plastic case with a bottle of green slime and the air pump and fittings. I agree hooking it up to the battlery via the battlery tender cable would be the best butttt, 1) my pump has a dc plug that plugs into the dc outlect with a fuse in it. How do you connect it to the battery tender plug? and 2) I have comletely inflated my rear tire that was completely flat and my 5 amp fuse never blew so I could not have been drawing over 5 amps. If someone knows how to connect the airpump to the battery tender leads from the battery I would love to know.
  15. I definitely would not take it to your friend. How can you put a new tire on and put the weights in the same place as the old tire???? In my opinion he doesn't know what he's doing. The guy that changes my tires balances them with a straight bar. He hangs the tire and lets the heavy side rotate to the bottom and puts a weight on the other side. I guess you develop a nack for how much weight to put. Anyway he does this a few time until the tire does not rotate and the tire is balanced. He has done 3 sets for me and I have never had any problem. I know some people do it themselves but since like you I only have two wheels under me I would rather pay someone who knows what they are doing. I'll save money on oil changes.
  16. Thanks again V7Goose. A couple of people told me where the fuse box is and while helping Chip yesterday we found his in the lower right fairing. Hopefully I'll be able to check this weekend. I have a PGR mission tomorrow and its suppose to rain Sunday and unless I put my bikes out in the rain I may not have enough room to get to my bike. I really want to know what fuse is in there so I hope I have enough room Sunday.
  17. I not only sent prayers, I've also crossed my fingers and toes. Anything to help.
  18. I'm not sure anyone can answer that question. I have never run out of gas but I switch to reserve an awful lot. I get about 170 - 185 miles usually before I hit reserve but I have hit reserve at 120 miles before also. It all depends on how fast your driving, how much wind your fighting, etc. I have ridden 225 miles without running out of gas and the other Venture I was riding with ran out at 210 miles. The biggest factor is how much gas you put in when you fill up. If you stop when the gas reaches the bottom edge of you gas tank nozzle then you don't have 6 gals in. You probably have about 5.5 gals. I have spent a lot of time at the gas pump trying to fill up my gas tank and have still never filled it up. I will fill it to the nozzle let it settle, fill it to the nozzle let it settle, fill it to the nozzle let it settle, fill it to the nozzle let it settle, you get the idea. The most I ever put in was about 5.4 gals. Some people have punched holes in the inside nozzle collar to release the air back pressure so you don't have to let the gas settle and make it easier to fill the gas tank. I would not do this modification without some research. Anyway you see why this question is so hard to answer.
  19. Another option if you have a Dremel and a small cut off wheel is to cut a grove in it and use a flathead screwdriver to get it out. Be careful and have a steady hand and try to keep the grove as narrow as possible.
  20. Hi Steve, I am planning on being there. Unless something comes up. I'll be riding a two tone green RSV with 5k miles on it. The best part is I only gave $5300. Not near the deal you got on yours but I'm happy. Maybe we can figure out why my cruise will not hold. Harry
  21. Thanks guys now I can check to make sure that the fuse is a 5 amp fuse. I don't know how to measure how much amperage the air pump is actually pulling. I would think that the longer it runs the more amps it pulls but that is just a guess on my part.
  22. Hi Steve, Just in case Chip doesn't read this anymore I thought I would let you know we got everything fixed and only lost one bolt. Pretty good for a couple of old guys. I just got home so in case Chip doesn't see this I would like to thank you for your offer. Harry
  23. This is the one I have. Same company different model. http://www.slime.com/product/110/12-Volt-Air-Compressor-with-Gauge-(COMP-02).html
  24. Ezonedirect set everyone individually. The other two companies also said they would send them separate but one was two items combined and one was 4 items in one package and they all arrived in 2 to 3 weeks. I still don't have all the LED's from ezonedirect. That is not the problem. I had already told ezonedirect not to refund the money for the last missing one as they were cheap and it may eventually show up. The big problem was they were 4 different shades of green and four of 5 were wired backwards and one was real dim. The other two comapanies not only all matched they even matched the other companies.
  25. I checked my air pump and it is rated 15 amp. The RSV spec's say the DC outlets are rated 5 amps each. Now I can't imagine anyone putting a 15 amp fuse in a 5 amp slot but like I said before I have used the 15 amp air pump many times and did not blow the DC outlet fuse. I can't find the DC outlet fuse to check it. Can someone tell me where it is? I found the fuse box under the left side panel but that's not the right one. If I check it and it is a 5 amp fuse I would think it would be safe to continue using the 15 amp air pump as the 5 amp fuse would protect the wires. Am I correct? If not please tell me why.
