OK, I still have the original battery in my 06 Midnight and after I let it sit for about a month without starting and did not put a tender on it, I thought it was time to buy a new battery. Well I put it on a charger and put a full charge in the battery and since then I have not had a problem. It starts on the first push of the button. Should I be preparing to buy a battery? If so How soon? Should I plan to get one before MD? Enquiring minds what to know.

OK my turn. I ordered mine in February and was told that they were 2-4 weeks behind. I was also told that they would not charge my CC until they were ready to ship. When they charged my cc I contacted them to find out when they would be shipping. They finally answered after I send several emails and I was told the shield would go out next week. That was 3 weeks ago. I contacted them again and I was told that they ran two production of my shield but they were defective and that they would be doing another run this week. I will say one thing, I understand that everyone likes the Clearview shield but this is not my idea of good customer service. If I don't receive my shield by next week I am going to ask for a refund and order the F4.

Well, I got my notice today from the BBB that the Oberlin Inn was being questioned about their business practices. How many of you all sent in a complain besides me?

Just called and canceled my room at the Oberlin, they put me in a smoking room and I can't have that. The lady at the desk told me that she does not know why the rooms were canceled. I told her that there would be complaints filed at the BBB regarding their business practices. ScaryLarry--looks like you got a room mate at the Comfort Inn. BTY I have already filed a complain with the local BBB.

I just got off the phone and my reservation is still good except that I am now in a smoking room. I make it very clear when I made the reservation in February that I had to have a non-smoking room and was assured that my room was non-smoking. The lady tonight said that I was put in the smoking room the night the reservation was made. What gives with this? I thing a call to the BBB on this place may open the managers eyes. I called earlier today but no one could tell me anything. I was told that I had to talk to the manager so they transferred me to his number, this was at 5:15 local time. I find tonight that he goes home at 5:00, so why did they transfer me to talk to him? I told the lady that I have not decided if I am staying there or not, maybe I will wait until the 18th at 3:45 and call and cancel.

Mine tested out at almost the same numbers. My unit hit 3.8 on the output.

I think I will use that excuse for hitting the rev limiter more often. Hitting the rev limiter sort of scares me since I put the Dyno 3000 on the bike and the limiter is higher.

Picked my bike up from the shop yesterday and I have ridden it at all speeds and the :dancefool:WHINE IS GONE!!!! :dancefool: As others have said, it may come back and if it does I will just have to get used to it because I love this bike regardless. I guess the "I" basket made the difference and while I was at it, I went with Amsoil synthetic oil this time.

You have to give me a chance to try it out. According the email--2 to 3 weeks turn around. RoadKill--you are the reason I ordered one. The way you went on about how good it was I just had to get one.

Just ordered a Clearview XL, tinted windshield with vents. After seeing all the Ventures with this shield on at the last MD I just had to take the plunge. And they are giving a 10% discount on new shield orders.

Dealer called me today and Yamaha has agreed to install the I basket. Parts are in the mail. Will let you know if the whine goes away. If not, I will just turn up the volume on Pasty Cline.

Cleaning all that dust/dirt from under the seat/fairings etc.

Same thing I use to clean the engine on my truck. I spray no touch tire cleaner on everything and just let it dry. The dirt rolls away and everything shines after wards. -

Anyone know where I can get a maintenance manual for a 2009 V Star 650. My brother just won it in a Raffle for $25. It only had 800 miles. I would like to find a manual for him if possible and I know that if there is a manual for a Yamaha anywhere on the web, someone on this site would know where it is.

Well I guess I should been like you guys BUT I didn't. Took the cover off the bike, pulled the chock, hit the starter and NOTHING!! I have it on a charger now but may just go and get a new battery. :mo money:This one is over 4 years old and I have been told that these bike batteries are only good for 3 years.

we go by. The wife and I are leaving Saturday on our annual bike vacation. Had planned to do West Virginia but the weather is too cold for my better half. So we decided to ride the Trace to Natchez, MI and go over to Gulfport for a couple of days. We are staying at the Naval Base since a two room suite is only $59 and no tax. Will head back to Tennessee via Montgomery, Al and Columbus, GA. If you see a fast BLACK Midnight go by pulling a Piggy Backer--toot your horn.
