I have just finished something that I thought I would every do. I split the faring on the Venture all by myself and put in the spliter to the AUX plug. I also took off the gas tank and ran the wires to the new Zumo 550 that Santa left me. I would never had tried this but with the instruction that Squidley posted on how to split the faring and install the splitter, it was a success. I also want to Thank Eck for putting up with all my p-mails about how to use and set up the Zumo. I am very glad that I found this site in December 2005. I have attended 2 maintenance days and already have reservations for this year. I may be rambling but you don't know how much this site means to me. I don't post alot but I visit daily. THANK YOU ALL,

No chrome but I did get a Zumo 550 and a 24 volt drill set. Santa was really good.

ECK, don't be surprised if you get a call this weekend. I plan to start in the morning on this project. I have not forgotten about your offer to walk me through using the Zumo. the only thing I can not figure out now is how to use the MP3. The instruction book does not go over it but there is a button for MP3.

I am getting ready to split the faring (first time by my self). I found the write up by Squidley expaining this is done and how to install the spilt audio cable so that I can install my new Zumo 550. My question is this, can I just tap into the electrical power behind the power outlet inside the faring for my GPS power or should I get the power from somewhere else? Thanks---

He left me a ZUOM 550!!! Now all I need is someone to show me how to use it. Anyone that wants to volunteer to help a dumb old country boy figure out all this electronic stuff, I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks but that decal is no longer available. I have contacted a local company that makes personalize decals for windows. I gave them an idea of what I want and they are supposed to send me a picture of the layout. I will post a copy if it looks OK.

Thanks Barry. It is a shame that you can get any thing with Harley on it and you can not find anything with Star. I called the Yamaha office last week and complained about 2 items that are in the 2009 calendar that are not available. One will be available in January and the other was supposed to be in the warehouses 2 weeks ago. That shows me that they are not ensuring that the distributor is not doing his job.

Anybody know where I can get hold of a Star decal for the back window of my truck? Yamaha used to make a large bumper sticker that said "Star Motorcycles". I have looked everywhere but can not find anything. I would like to have a fairly large one that can be seen from a distance. Any help would be appreciated.

I have not been on the site for a few days and had forgotten about calling to change my reservations. When I picked up the mail today there was a letter from the Oberlin Inn, they had changed my reservation to Jun 5 for me. What a good bunch of folks.
-
OK, do we need to cancel our reservations at the Oberlin Inn and make new ones?
-
:thumbsup2:Just made my reservation at the Oberlin Inn. Lady said the block of rooms for us has filled up but she has plenty of room available for that weekend at the discounted rate. I would not wait tooooo long. I have enjoyed the last 2 MD and look forward to this one.

Did anyone else get their 09 Star Calendar? I hate to say it, but I am not a fan of choppers so this calendar will go in the work shop when the dust will cover it up.

that Tom from Piggy Backer offers. I purchased a Piggy Backer XL in April and love it. On our last trip up the Blue Ridge I got too close to something and cracked one of the fenders. I contacted Tom to get the cost of a replacement. He had me send him a picture of the fender, since he has used two different types on the XL. The day after I sent him the picture, he asked for my address and send me a new fender at no charge!!! He did not even want the cost of shipping. Other companies could learn alot about customer service from this guy. If you are in the market for a trailer be sure to contact Tom at Piggy Backer. You will not be disappointed.

Anybody ever delt with this place http://www.prestigecamera.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=3645363&l=LOWPRICEDIGITAL ? They have the Zuma 550 for $479. That is almost too good to be true. After the week long ride on the Blue Ridge, the wife wants something that will help locate hotels and shopping areas. God Bless her.

I hooked the trailer and cooler rack to the Explorer and everything worked fine. Could it be the ground on the bike? Want to get some idea before I start.
