The question has been asked a few times if there was a gear indicator available for the Royal Star Venture and the Royal Star. I have been in contact with the same company that makes the Speedohealer and they do have one that will work on our bikes. I have been 100% pleased with the Speedohealer so decided to add the gear indicator also. This is a simple plug and play device that indicates what gear you are in. I just ordered one and will give a full report on it after I receive and install it but if this is something you have been interested in, you can find the information here. They told me that we should purchase from their USA Distributor: http://www.calsportbike.com/gpx but the manufacturers website is: http://www.healtech-electronics.com/ From the info they sent to me: The GIpro X-type will work great. Part number: "GIPRO-X-color + GPX-Y01" Where 'color' is either Red or Blue Price is $132.99

Installed Leveling Links - Wow - a new bike
Freebird replied to Godlover's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The dimensions in the write-up are correct. Lay them beside the stock links and they will look almost the same. I don't remember now but there is only a fraction difference in the stock and the raising links. Diamond R I think uses the same dimension. This item was originally developed by Rick Butler and after he saw how great they worked, he gave the idea and measurements to Diamond R. They are great folks to deal with if you don't end up making your own. As for what you saw in a bike shop? I have no idea what they would be or how they would measure. I've never seen another company making them. Are you SURE that they were to RAISE the rear? Baron's makes a kit but it lowers the rear. -
LOL...now that was good.

I have seen that article on the V4 Harley before but don't see anything about them selling the design to Yamaha. I think the Yamaha is their own design. There have been a number of V4 engines over the years. The Venture and Yamaha are not the only ones.- 44 replies

The ones that I had used a permanent/non-removable steel baffle. No packing of any kind. I think you could have almost dropped a golf ball through them. I later tried the Khromewerks and liked them much better. Not quiet as loud and re-packable. I also think they were finished better.

I used to have them on mine. They were just too loud for me. I would say maybe a bit louder than the Nasty Boys.

It always amazes me the difference that we all report in our insurance rates. I know there are a LOT of variables. Location, credit score, driving record, etc. Still seems to be a wide range. Like I said, I have always carried liability only on my RSV and it has always been about $75.00 per year. I did price full coverage a while back though and it was only $235.00 per year. That was with Progressive and is who I have had for 11 years.

Mine has a little. Nothing that I consider excessive though.

I've been using Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 in my '99 for almost 11 years. I have no desire to try anything different. http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil1_Racing_4T_10W-40.aspx

$75.00 per year is about what I pay but that is for liability only.

Folks, I am sorry to say that I have at least temporarily removed Tony from our "Preferred Vendors" section. There are just too many issues with delivery right now. I have contacted him and initially got an email from him with a very nice explanation of the problems and in that email, he promised that if anybody was unhappy with the amount of time it is taking him that he always offers a full refund. There is at least one member who is not happy and would like a refund. I asked Tony to address that issue and have not heard back from him. I'm still hopeful that he will do the right thing. My one dealing with him was positive and I think that he is really a decent guy that may have bitten off more than he can chew at this time. If he makes right with those with problems and then gets caught up and wishes to be added back, it will be considered but I just can't continue to recommend him as a preferred vendor at this time.

Yea...I'm not to quick on the draw but I eventually get around to things.

You can send the snakes a bit sooner. I'll feed them just enough to keep them hungry.

I don't believe a word she said. Then she tried to use the "ohhh....my eye hurts" just to make sure that I don't try to get even with her for the past transgressions. The all that "can't be responsible for others" talk. Sounds like the small legalese print that you find on everything now days.

No, unless you install a Mic-Mutes, the mic is always hot for the intercom. You would only use the push to talk button when using the CB. That being said, I highly recommend the Mic-Mutes as it eliminates all the wind noise that can be caused by the mics being hot all the time. If you install the Mic-Mutes, you simply momentarily pulse the push to talk button, front or rear, to activate the mic. You pulse it again to turn them back off.

Heck...I think we are ALL Wingnuts. Also, we don't care what anybody rides, all are welcome here. I'm just thinking that for a certain model bike that enough members here have, maybe there should be a forum here for them. In other words, I don't want to create a separate forum for any bike that a single member here rides but maybe for any bike that "X" number of members here are riding.

The 0's are numeral 0's, not letter 0's. Here is how yours came up. 1989 YAMAHA XVZ13D VIN: JYA1NLE0XKA028509 World region: Asia Manufactured in: Japan Year: 1989 Make: Yamaha Model: XVZ13D Body style: Road / Street Drive type: RWD Cylinders: 4 Cylinders -
No problem at all. I don't mind such questions in the least. If you want to have private political discussions, that is your business. The only time I would get involved in ANY PM argument would be if one of the members involved in such an argument were to report to me that there were threats or whatever. I would not know about it unless one or both parties contacted me.

Drats...I forgot about Eileen and the lawnmower....you are right...I better nix this idea.
-
Yea, Eileen was watching the LAST time I tried a dumb motorcycle stunt. A concussion and a few cracked ribs later, she was VERY impressed.

PMs are private. Would it be POSSIBLE for me to check them? Yes. They are stored in the database until they are read and deleted but I do NOT read them and do NOT get copies of them. Now here is the thing though. If somebody sends a PM, the user gets an email notification of that PM. That email clearly states "Do Not Reply". You can only reply to a PM by logging in here and replying to the PM from your Inbox here at the forum. A lot of people forget that you can't reply to a PM via email and will try to reply to that email. When that happens, the reply is sent to me so I end up seeing it. I try to respond with a quick message reminding the member that they cannot reply to a PM via email. So, unless a member messes up and tries to reply with email, they are not read by myself or the moderators.

HEY...not only did I lose interest in the Harley site but then I tried to sell it just for what I had invested in the software and etc. but found no takers. I then offered to GIVE it to any of the few members that might want to take it over...still no takers. I finally just pulled the plug.
