  1. Changing the number posts displayed did not change the way it worked. It always opened that first page up again. It is just a function of the home page not integrating 100% perfectly with the forum software and there is really no easy way to change that. TIRESOME.....geezzzzzzz.....maybe it would be less tiresome if you clicked the more page and then perhaps take a nap, drink a beer or something before you go to all the work of scroooollllliiinnnngggg down that long ol' page to click another button. Or...as Dave suggested...just click the Today's Posts link in the left menu and it gives you what you are asking for.
  2. I just don't even understand the issue with the more button. If you click more, it opens up an new section that starts with the first page and then links at the bottom to page 2, 3, etc. It seems to work fine.
  3. Possible? Yes, but I was about to decide that I wasn't smart enough to find it. After searching the code for about an hour, I FINALLY found where to delete it. Hopefully this will clean the menu up a bit. Sorry, linking them to your own "subscribed threads" is just easier said than done. At least for me. Sorry it took me so long to get around to it.

    Sold

    I know too....and I'm not telling either.
  5. Well...the wire that I told you about will let them be on anytime the ignition is on but NOT when it's off. That is the way mine are wired. I turn them on and off with a switch but they do not work with the ignition off. If you want them to be on with the ignition turned off, I would say to run a fused wire all the way from the battery.
  6. Red wire with yellow stripe. See the document attached to this thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43898
  7. Very clever. A new and CHEAP way to add more safety chrome.
  8. 17 out of 20 for me. I barely even remember Pogo...don't think I've ever watched it.
  9. This tech bulletin from Yamaha shows the proper sequence. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705
  10. It just depends on what she looks like.
  11. I agree...great product.
  12. If people want shirts, I'll come up with some. I won't mess with patches but I don't mind having shirts made.
  13. Sierra is pretty much ALWAYS cheaper than buying direct and a fantastic company to work with. I've dealt with Sierra for over 10 years and they are just a great company.
  14. It's not clear to me which ones he's talking about. The wind deflectors that bolt on to the brackets or the horizontal ones that extend two or three inches at the bottom of the fairing. Diamond R makes a nice set of SS ones with SS brackets for the former. I have had them for several years now and they are really good. If he is talking about the long/horizontal ones, I don't know of any other than stock. I have seen a lot of people paint them on the inside though and it looks nice.
  15. I've tried several. I've owned cheap and expensive J&M, AirRider and Edsets. I prefer the Edsets over all the rest.
  16. I don't go along with what the doctors say either. I'm about 6'2...a bit more. I'm usually between 215-220 lbs. I admit that I could stand to lose about 15 lbs. and most of that is right around the waste line. I had a doctor last year tell me that at 6'2" tall and 218 lbs. that I would be classified as obese? Really?
  17. Also check out Motorcycle Gear for jackets. Refresh the page until you see their banner at the top right of the page here.
  18. This is even on Snopes......... http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/trivia/fivedays.asp
  19. It just says Yes...I like it.
  20. I use that same 0-60 pump. It works great for the rear shock and my Bushtec trailer. I agree that a lower psi gauge for the front would work better but I usually just keep the front at zero and don't worry about them.
  21. Charlie, you and I went back and forth on this a long time ago. I absolutely do NOT understand what your problem is with the word sex. You feel that any post with the word SEX should be deleted. Since you had to bring it up again, it would be interesting to know if ANYBODY else here considers that a dirty word. Heck...even my driver's license has the word SEX on it.
  22. No problem........I think we ALL need a good ride. I know I do. OK folks...shows over...let's keep on moving...move along now.....
  23. If you do a search you will find a LOT of discussion here on that subject. You really can't search for GPS because that is too few letters for the search engine but search for Garmin and you'll find a lot of posts. It really comes down to how much money you wish to spend. A lot of us took our second mortgages on our homes and went with Zumo 550, 660 and 665 models. They are expensive but pretty much cover all the bases. I have a Zumo 665 and it is a grat unit. It comes with the XM puck and really works well.
  24. OK folks, I have communicated with both parties involved. I'm not going to go into any detail here. I honestly think that this was blown a bit out of proportion. The person called Mel to clear up another issue. He should NOT have called, PERIOD. The telephone numbers are listed for VR Assistance PERIOD. Some people don't mind receiving telephone calls but others really don't like it unless there is a true need. The numbers should NEVER be used because of something posted or said or assumed or anything else. That should be handled by a PM or an email. If you feel that something could be better discussed on the telephone then PM the other member and ask if they are willing to discuss it on the telephone. If they say no, then respect their privacy. To try and be fair minded though, I will also say that I think that Mel overreacted just a bit. Based upon what I know, there was no reason to publicly post about this issue and therefore create a stir where everybody is concerned and wondering what happened. It was simply not a big deal and a simple PM would have very likely ended it. So......I am not putting any blame on Mel and he has every right to remove his telephone number if he so chooses. It is entirely voluntary. I can assure you all though that what happened should not cause anybody else to be concerned about their number being listed.
  25. No, that had nothing to do with anything that may have happened today. That was more or less a general change that I had made. Now there was something that led me to that decision but it has nothing to do with this.
