Last year we didn't actually plan any real rides except to the Biltmore. Folks did what they wanted and there are plenty of roads to ride. We had folks head to TN down to Cherokee all over the place. Asheville is a great spot to stay to get around the area. In a short time you can be in another state. Last year a few of us went gem mining. It was a blast. This year I'm going again to a different place. Anyone interested is more then welcome to go along. This is where I'm headed: http://www.emeraldvillage.com/ It's in Little Switzerland which is a pretty nice little town. They have a nice little place to eat in town as well. To help you decide on what you may want to do here's the tourist site for NC. I searched for the one you mentioned and got a society of folks that evidently collect and there's a museum. Here's there website. http://www.fostoriaglass.org/ I'd suggest finding the names of the different glass makers and doing searchers for any info. May take a bit of time but couldn't hurt. Super 8 Black Mountain 101 Flat Creek Road Black Mountain, NC 28711 US Phone: 828-669-8076 This is the place most folks stayed at last year. Seems they all liked it because they are staying again this year. There are other places I'd advise sticking with Black Mountain too close to Asheville and your talking big bucks for a hotel room. Plus there's the KOA East where some of us will be camping. Plenty of tent sites always available. Those of us tenting it will be in D section. Margaret
