After dealing or should I say not dealing with the problem of 25 mpg,Skydoc17 offered to show me how to install my carb diaprahms them at MD...He did that and the needle mod while he was in there....All I can say is WOW.... From 25 mpg to 40 mpg on the trip home...Riding 2-up with all the Clampett stuff strapped to the bike at 70-75 across the turnpike.... Earl,you are the "MAN"......:D Thanks again.....

I had to shut down my used parts offer when I took my recent trip to Sturgis and out west. But, Now I'm back and I'm finished with the Mattcharva's bike rebuild project so now the parts store is back open. There are many, many good parts left and I need to wrap this project up as well . I need to move these babies and clear out the over flow of parts that run from my work area through the sunroom art studio into the house and on to the kitchen table. Most every thing has been disassmbled from the bike down to the engine and frame. Still have all the plastic body parts and most of the systems and electrical components. So, if your still looking for some parts please reply on this post and I will answer with availability and condition of part and price of part plus shipping cost. :mo money:plus:2cents: Please do not respond by private message. That didn't work to well last time. Going back and forth between the thread and private messages kept me confused and clogged up private messages boxes. So step right up and tell me what you need, remember a lot of the parts are interchangable withe the XVZ1300 and later year model. If in doubt I can verify if it will work on your bike with my multi year Yamaha Parts program. It's all for a good cause, mine and Venturerider.org's. I am doing this for a few bucks but I'm not greedy and willing to share so I'm trying to offer these parts at a very reasonable cost and at the end of the day I'm gonna tally up what I've sold through this site a donate 10% off that amount to Venturerider.org and donate any remaining useable parts to the venture parts stash on the site.

Really really sad now my bike is gone and so is the boat trailer and trailer frame. Sad day for me today boo,hoo. I guess I can look on the brighter side one less bill til things pick up in this world and I get back on my feet. I will get another one later maybe next year when things are better. But at least I am not selling myself off the web site. Hope I can still stick around and meet and eat still. Catch you all later leaving tomorrow for new job in Mn. signing truck with Transport America. Joe

Yep...that old PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome) got BLASTED out of me today! Temps rose to a "balmy" 7 degrees celcius with clear, sunny skies...I couldn't hold off any longer...went and got a day permit for the scoot and out we went. Rode about 250 miles round trip over 4.5 hrs with stops here and there. We were well bundled up but still got a bit chilled at times but it was all worth it. And...this was the first time out with my (new to me) Road King mufflers...AH MAN do those things sound sweet! .... AND .... waddya know... I barely noticed the dreaded WHINE ... yeeeee haaaaawwwww! :thumbsup2:

Ok I know someone here should have a idea to where I can get a good deal on a new helmut. I was thinking about a new AC-3. My wife is needing a larger helmut. So should I let her have my large and go buy me a new helmut, or just buy her a new one now? Also feel free to offer other brands and where to find one...... I'm open minded.

I told you that I was busy on Saturday building a base for a hot tub. Got it all installed and warmed up. Got all the chemicals adjusted right and tried it out tonight for the first time. I had one when we lived in Dallas but forgot how much I enjoyed it. Sitting out there with light snow flurries and 12 degrees with the spa temp steady at 101 F and a hot cup of coffee....a little bit of heaven in the frozen north. I feel more relaxed than I've been in months. OH...and ONE MORE THING. Come maintenance day here...there will be NO pond monster in the spa. Some of you will KNOW what I'm talking about.

Just finished up the Flanders handlebar install last week in time for a 600 mile trip. All I can say is "WOW" what a difference! Like many others I would get that nagging pain between the shoulder blades after an hour or so. Went the whole 600 miles without any discomfort. Highly recommend this upgrade if you're having the same problem. And by the way, Rick at Buckeye Performance is excellent to work with. Another change to the scoot, I installed the Radiantz LED tail light. Wished I'd done that when I got the bike. I recommend this as the first tail light upgrade and then go from there. Having a light bar up higher is also good, which I put on first. But get rid of that dull stock bulb and put this bright one in before adding all of the other little add-on's. I've had good comments on the brightness from others. It's now brighter when brakes are off than the stock was with brakes on. That make three big improvements this year. First - installing Avon's which greatly improved the handling, Second - the Flanders bars which greatly improved the comfort and Third - the LED tail light which hopefully will help keep people off by backside while I enjoy the first two.
