Did I not see a post in regards to a contest for designing a T-Shirt for next years rally? Is it done and over with? Is it still possible to send in a design? Did it get squashed???

First off I want to say I had a blast at the 3 State Meet and Eat. It was good to meet with some of you and exchange ideas. I spoke to one of you that had a black RSTD. Harley pipes, driving lights and additions on the air boxes. Bike was setup for solo riding. If anyone knows who this is send me a message I'm sure I would like to trade ideas with him again sometime. Sorry, but I am terrible with names. Anyone else that wants feel free, I work 4 on 4 off so I am always looking for people to ride with. Thanks!

Hi Everyone Some people ordered a T-shirt for the 2008 Rally in Ontario, Canada at the Maintenance ride and paid in full but only provided an email address. Noddy...a irregular member here bought a set of avons for his 91 from southwest moto a month or so ago. At my recommendation mind you. He got the typical great service, prompt delivery, good price. He noticed the other day that the front tire is "checking", or otherwords, cracking all around the rim area. Mine did that a couple years ago from a set I bought at Sturgis. Now, Gord has to take off the tire and send it back to SWM and they will send him a new one....great..but he cannot ride without a tire very well...so may be stuck. He was hoping to get them to send him a new one and then he would send the old one back just to cut time off the road. They can't/won't do that. This tire is a great one and he is pleased with the performance but I am hearing more of the issue with the cracks. Not on the 2nd gens just the 1st gens. His tire was made fall last year judging by the date code.

Jeannie will be coming HOME early next week. the Dr.s on her team, have determined that her heart is TOO weak and fragile, to undergo any type of surgery. she told the social worker, when asked about a nursing home:"hell no! i know what you people will do.you get me in there, then won't let me out, and then the next thing i know, you'll take my house!" at any rate, she will be here, with me, until her time gets short, then they will send out "hospice people" to keep her comfortable, 'till, her time runs out. and now , words fail me. i can't thank ALL of you enough for the support and prayers. just jt

BUT!!!! what is the purpose, and or advantages of the "v.r. friends",LIST? is it the same as the old "BUDDIES LIST". what can you use the list for, ? I.E., can you send "personal messages " to all the members on your list, like a "mass e mail"? i am confuzzeled! just jt:think:

I just ordered a 4 guage carb sync set. Now I need to know how to sync my carbs. I have an 05 RSTD with a little over 20,000 km on it. If anyone out there can send me a link or tell me step-by-step instructions, I would be very thankful. Dealer wants 3 hrs at almost $100/hr. Guages were only $95. Snake:225:

Several weeks ago, there was a post in the joke section I think. It was about how as a nation we are doing things backwards by sending young people to war when we should be sending "cranky old men". Ok folks,by now I think we have all seen the troubles and time,not to mention his own personal money,Don has put into this site. He never asks for anything in return and I feel it is not in his character to ask.While he works a full time job he has spent the last few days keeping the site up for our pleasure and a few posts have been made on making Donations but they are kind of hidden in other post subjects. Lets all IF YOU CAN try and send even a dollar to help him and Thank Him and Yes,help pay for the new server. I know all of you have met some great people on here and I personally have made some close friendships that I will cherish forever. I have seen a few posts that even the newest of members have sent in donations..That says alot about the site! Some may not be able to send in anything and BELIEVE me,Everyone can understand that and no one would EVER hold that against whoever but those of us that can lets say "THANK YOU DON" for this with a donation that is much needed at this time to keep a great site FREE! Don things running pretty smoothly around here, so I had to come up with something for you to think about. Curious if there is any interest, or if it was possible to have a button that would send someone an email/pm notification that someone posted a question in a thread. SO you could hit this button and notice will go out to that persons email, similar to the Delphi forums. Occasionally someone will post a comment/suggestion in a thread and you may post a question to that person but that person may never come back to that thread to see the Question. Just an idea and yes I know I could send them a note, but others may be interested in the reply. BRad

A while back someone was asking for a Venture picture to use for their computer desktop background. Below is a copy of the pic and I know it will work well on up to a 21 inch monitor. It will not let me attach it to the forum so I will send it to Don and maybe he can make it available somewhere on the site. Had a problem with my iWAY 350C shutting off after about a half hour of operation in hot weather. Unit is mounted on a RAM handlebar mount. Others here noted the same problem. Some linked it to heat, others to vibration. I contacted Lowrance and sent them copies of the messages on this board showing others had had similar problems. Got a return authorization even though my unit had been out of warranty a few months. They received it and sent a note back saying they'd send it to engineering for test and evaluation. I responded thanking them for their offer but asked them to send it back "as is" and I would limit its use to my truck and get a specific unit for motorcycles (the iWAY is not weather proof). The next thing in this sequence is a new 350C was delivered by UPS--no charge. Of course, I can't verify the malady is fixed until hot weather arrives, but just wanted to post this note to let everyone know what a great customer service operation Lowrance is. If you're having problems with their products, I highly recommend you contact them. Nothing to lose except a few minutes at the keyboard or on the phone.

any blank note cards they would be willing to donate. I asked Grey Ghost for a list of items which he thought would be appreciated by the members serving in the Middle East. One of the items he recommended was blank general usage cards that they can write a short message in to send out to friends and family. I have contacted Hallmark to see if we can make a bulk purchase at cost. I am also going to contact Leaning Tree with a similar request. In the meanwhile, if you are like me (perish the thought) you are probably being bombarded with requests from every imaginable charitable group in the country. Well, in a lot of the solicitations I get, they include a stack of cards and note pads. So, I was thinking (and that is where I start getting into trouble) that if any of the members here had some of those cards that they would like to donate to a good cause, maybe you could just send them to me and I can include them in the packages we are putting together. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated........

I have set the date for Saturday, October 27, 2007. I have set the time for 1:00 pm for us to arrive at the hospital. I have confirmed this date with Dennis Johnston at St. Jude Childrens Hospital and they are more than happy to accomodate us on that date. What they will need to know is aprox. how many to expect so they can have ample parking available for us. We will be given a tour of the hospital and its facilities while we are there. If we have a large group of more that 15 or 20 they will need to break us up into two groups. As for bringing something for the kids, he is going to send me a list of things that would be acceptable, since they dont want anything brought in that might harbor harmful bacteria.....no stuffed animals in one of the no no's. He is also sending a guideline for the tour. I will post all of that info as soon as I receive it. So if you plan on attending, please let me know for sure no later than Oct. 19th. Thanks to all who have donated and/or planning on attending this meaningful event. This is for me a 1 day event, I will be leaving Memphis to return to Atlanta after we have done everything and have had a nice meal. If anyone would like to add to the amount that we have already raised at Vogel, you can send them to me at my snail mail or Paypal. Just pm me and let me know how you would like to do it.
